Having stayed in the place back in July I knew there were new owners. They cleaned up the yard a bit, renewed the dock, put hooks in the bathroom to hang towels, and other touches to make the place cozier. Fishing was great off the dock. The bonfire was excellent, we did smores and hotdogs. The neighborhood is very friendly. Several came over to ask us if we were the new owners. I felt a real sense of community here. That small town feel. Turns out we booked at a weird time, when the neighborhood was replacing a bridge (the one and only exit and entrance to the neighborhood). Before arriving the host told us the bridge would be closed from 8a to 2p. A member of the HOA board came to inform us it would be closed at least until 5p. It was a working vacay for me, and I had a thing in Toledo that evening and couldn't risk being stuck in the house, and the host was kind enough to refund us a night's stay so that we could stay somewhere else. We couldn't work out a 1 night stay elsewhere (every traveler knows the pain of check in at 3 or 4, and check out at 10 or 11) so we had to get a 2 night stay nearby.. which was fine. that wasn't a big deal and when we travel we factor in for extra expenses. with all that confusion about the bridge, I would still recommend this place and would definitely go back
