About this property
Small But Mighty (Elegant) Rural Retreat
Pie Farm Cottage is perched on a small private pond at the end of our long driveway.
The cottage has two main rooms, a loft and a large bath and closet. The kitchen/dining area is brand new with all you need to prepare a full course meal or a quick snack.
The queen size bed is new and comfortable with top of the line sheets and soft fluffy towels. Take a bath in the old clawfoot tub (my personal favorite) or a quick shower.
Radiant in-floor heat in winter, air conditioning in summer. There's a loft with a desk and chair and queen size futon couch accessible by a ships ladder.
Our little cottage has been completely renovated and is ready for folks who crave a rural retreat with all it's attractions, yet close to restaurants, beaches, and local areas of interest.
I have 5 miles of groomed trails on 78 acres of heaven. You can hike, bike, snowmobile, ski, ice skate, snowshoe, swim or simply relax in the sunshine on the lawn.
We are only three miles from Waldoboro Village and Route 1 in a good central location for visiting the Midcoast of Maine. From here, take the Friendship Road, and you can be on the ocean, on a lake, on a river, in a fine restaurant or world-famous Moody's Diner, at a world class art museum, an ocean going schooner or in a lobster boat.

About the host
Hosted by Mary Ashmore

Pie Farm is located on the Friendship Road a short ride from Waldoboro Center in the Mid-Coast area of Maine.
I live on the farm, and brought up our three children here. I grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana and moved to Maine over 30 years ago because of my love of the outdoors and all of the beauty Maine has to offer. I am a Family Physician in Camden, and when I am not working I happily spend my free time on the farm.
Pie Farm Cottage used to be my doctor's office. And at one time there were peacocks on the property, my favorite bird. As a southerner from New Orleans, I had high hopes for them. But they are really not a northern bird. Now only the memory of them remains ...

Why they chose this property
As a physician, I believe in the benefits of relaxation and the deep contentment found in nature. I have wanted to share the Farm with like minded folks for a long time. Pie Farm Cottage is the way I choose to do that and hope you will agree that your stay with me was a truly healthful and relaxing interval.
