Cove Cottage is a nature lover's paradise and the foundation for your peaceful vacation. Uniquely surrounded on three sides by the calm emerald waters of Seavey Cove. You can step onto the deck and watch the glorious sunrise in the morning or the brilliant stars at night. A paddler's dream, launch your kayak or canoe mere steps from the cottage at mid to high tide and explore the islands of Long Cove and beyond into Penobscot Bay. Birders can be on the lookout for eagles, osprey, hawks, terns, kingfishers and herons. An occasional seal will check on you from the cove to make sure your relaxing. A traditional 1930's style cottage allows you to relax warmly away from today's technology ridden world. You'll want to turn off your cell phone, pick up a book or newspaper, play board-games, talk or take a walk and above all relax, relax, relax.

Beautiful location right next to the water. The view was magical whether it was foggy, sunrise, high-tide, low-tide, or when the water was still as glass. So many birds to watch and stars to see late at night while sitting around the fire pit. We worked ourselves into the cold but invigorating water a few times and our dog loved swimming and hunting for chipmunks. The place is cute and clean. The location is ideal - short drive to a beautiful beach, quaint lighthouse, great local restaurants, and within a 30 minute drive of Camden and Rockport. The hosts are lovely people and very responsive.

Stunning Location and Property

We loved our stay at Cove Cottage! Vanessa was kind and communicative and made us feel very welcome. The cottage is comfortable and beautiful inside and out. It has everything you need and loads of natural light. The location — right on the water — is filled with wildlife and the rise and fall of the tides. Maine at its best! Close to Thomaston and Rockland and great restaurants within 5 minutes in St. George. Can’t wait to return!

Check in was super easy, property is well maintained, bright with lots of windows, great views, well stocked kitchen, good amenities. It was our first time renting here and we absolutely loved it! We rented sea kayaks and had THE MOST amazing time paddling all around Long Cove! While out on the water, we spotted herons, seals, terns, cormorants, and bald eagles—unforgettable moments that will stay with us a lifetime. Vanessa and Paul were kind, communicative, and incredibly gracious hosts. For example, when my daughter and I each accidentally broke a drinking tumbler while doing dishes, Vanessa was completely understanding.The cabin reminded me of my family’s old cottage on Lake Michigan built by my great grandparents—rustic, but with all the essential comforts. The Wi-Fi, AC, and hot water all worked perfectly. The privacy and connection to nature here are absolutely unbeatable.We enjoyed cooking in and dining out. Highlights included tree-top and cloud gazing the hammock, spotting numerous shorebirds, smelling the ocean breezes, listening to the sounds of wind and songbirds, practicing morning meditations on the big rock overlooking the cove, building a fairy house from natural objects, playing Scrabble (we brought our own board), and eating s’mores by the fire. Our dogs loved Drift Inn Beach and peaceful walks along the cottage road. And we had one heaven-sent sunset that truly lit our hearts up. This place was magical, healing, and restorative—just what we needed. We're so grateful to Vanessa and Paul for sharing this special property with us, and we hope to return again.

We had a wonderful time at Seavey Cove. The views are breathtaking, the cabin was perfectly clean and contained everything we needed. Peaceful visit

We loved how quiet and secluded the cabin was while still having easy access to explore all of the little towns nearby. It felt like we were on our own little peninsula. The views of the cove were beautiful. Marshall Point/Drift Inn Beach were close by. Vanessa and Paul made great recommendations, and our family of four was quite comfortable. A Cozy Cottage Getaway

The perfect coastal getaway

We rented this cabin for a quiet, relaxing few days away and it was perfect. The cabin is quaint and charming with amazing views.... wake up for the sunrise - you won’t regret it! Location, location, location

We've stayed at several rentals in the mid-coast region and this location was incredible! A few steps to a perch on a rock and the week produced a few thousand pictures of all the birds and other wildlife visiting all day long. The rustic cabin was perfect for the two of us and our dog. Nearby to great local restaurants and an awesome ferry trip to Monhegan Island. We can't wait to return!

Beautiful, Peaceful and Convenient Hideaway

This was our second vacation at this lovely, charming, and very clean and neat cabin. It is a special place at an extraordinary and convenient location with easy access to other midcoast towns and sights. One can watch the tide rise and fall at the cove that's just a few feet from the cabin. Our host is highly responsive, good natured and saw to it that we had everything we needed. We can't wait to go back!

I'm a seventh grade English teacher at a local school. My husband works in Camden at a gift shop. We both love to travel, hike and enjoy the sea.

Why they chose this property

This property has been in my family since the mid 1700's. Part of the cabin was built in the 1930's and the newer section was added onto in the 1970's. The property is unique because it is private and the cabin literally sits on a small spit of land over looking the cove. There is a view of the water on three sides. Also, the cove is a beautiful emerald green due to the reflection of the surrounding trees.
