We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We loved relaxing in the treehouse and enjoyed the proximity to Crystal Mountain, Sleeping Bear Dunes, and Traverse City.
We visited the Treehouse to celebrate our Anniversary. We had talked for a long time about doing this and finally went. It was an amazing place and we will definitely be going back
It was so awesome to stay in a treehouse. It was so much fun and a really nice place.
We really enjoyed the views and everything g was so beautifully decorated. The beds were comfortable and it was very comfortable overall. Really enjoyed our stay. We plan to return.
Great place to spend a relaxing weekend with friends. Beautifully decorated with fall themed decor too. It was a home away from home. Would definitely stay again.
We really enjoyed our stay in the Treehouse! It was very clean, well equipped, including games, toys and movies for the family. The hosts were very thoughtful and responsive. We enjoyed the privacy and ambience in the woods, but still being close to plenty of things to do and see. We had a great stay and would go back! Highly recommend for a great getaway!!
A luxury room in a private forested setting. If you are looking to "get away", this is your place. Well appointed with everything you might need furnished. Very quiet and peaceful. Only downside is that it is several miles from civilization (as advertised).
We loved staying in the treehouse. All of the modern amenities of home, everything we could need and in beautiful peaceful scenery. We’re looking forward to coming back!
Easy to find, so peaceful and quiet. The house was so clean and had every little amenity you could think of which made traveling that much easier. We drove to Traverse City, Old Mission Peninsula, Leelanau and Frankfort and the drives were beautiful and easy. We cannot wait to come back and bring our family!
Lovely, well decorated tree house with loads of amenities. Great communication on what to expect upon arrival. Wonderful views, comfortable accommodations. Can’t wait to come back!
Everything was super clean. All of the amenities were so nice. We enjoyed talking to the owner and loved the views. Only negative is no wifi and no TV.

About the host
Hosted by Ashlee Knoll
This project is a builder and engineering dream, initiated by a father-son duo, Fred and Jess Knoll. Together with their wives, Patty and Ashlee Knoll, a plan was developed. After countless hours of planning, designing, engineering, and feedback, the Knolls pushed forward to making their dream a reality. By trade, Fred is a dynamically talented builder and finish carpenter with over 40 years of experience. His son, Jess was raised around construction and heavy equipment, and is a large scale equipment operator. They joined their professional abilities and construction backgrounds to make it all happen.
Why they chose this property
Tree House Ridge is the first of its kind in Michigan- with the goal to build 10 unique and self-contained 500 square foot tree houses, each located within a beautiful wooded site, sculpted around majestic hills, and each with its own breathtaking view of natural Northern Michigan beauty. This concept has been successfully implemented in other parts of the United States, but this is the first of its kind in this area.
What makes this property unique
Groups and families, both small and large, will enjoy this peaceful setting. You don't have to be outdoorsy to stay in a treehouse. It's the perfect destination to unwind and unplug. While some enjoy spending their days outdoors golfing, boating, hunting, fishing, sightseeing, skiing, and hiking, others like to go on wine and cider tours, shop, and attend destination weddings and family reunions, and much more. We will open our treehouses as their construction is complete with the final of ten to hopefully be completed by 2025.
