About the host
Hosted by Ashlee Knoll
This project is a builder and engineering dream, initiated by a father-son duo, Fred and Jess Knoll. Together with their wives, Patty and Ashlee Knoll, a plan was developed. After countless hours of planning, designing, engineering, and feedback, the Knolls pushed forward to making their dream a reality. By trade, Fred is a dynamically talented builder and finish carpenter with over 40 years of experience. His son, Jess was raised around construction and heavy equipment, and is a large scale equipment operator. They joined their professional abilities and construction backgrounds to make it all happen.
Why they chose this property
Tree House Ridge is the first of its kind in Michigan- with the goal to build 10 unique and self-contained 500 square foot tree houses, each located within a beautiful wooded site, sculpted around majestic hills, and each with its own breathtaking view of natural Northern Michigan beauty. This concept has been successfully implemented in other parts of the United States, but this is the first of its kind in this area.
What makes this property unique
Groups and families, both small and large, will enjoy this peaceful setting. You don't have to be outdoorsy to stay in a treehouse. It's the perfect destination to unwind and unplug. While some enjoy spending their days outdoors golfing, boating, hunting, fishing, sightseeing, skiing, and hiking, others like to go on wine and cider tours, shop, and attend destination weddings and family reunions, and much more. We will open our treehouses as their construction is complete with the goal of completing 10.
