Staying at this property was a true treat. Wonderful location and quiet. Very attentive host. Quick responses and great communication from her. House was clean and comfortable. Beaches are a little distance away but that definitely not a negative factor when it comes to the property. Nice lounges not far. Overall great trip. Would definitely book again.

Misleading VRBO...
When we looked at this VRBO online, the pictures of the inside were good. Unfortunately, there were no pictures of the surrounding area, especially the backyard and front yard. Both yards were not in good condition and not taken care of. There was an old rusted shed in the backyard. If a family has young children, the yard would not have been suitable for them to run around and play in. We had no idea we rented a house in the ghetto. At 2:45 am, we woke up to a street fight right in front of the house. It was quite scary because we had no idea if the two men would pull a gun and start shooting. When we first arrived at the VRBO, the gas was turned off. The gas stove did not work and we had no hot water for half a day or longer. We don't know because we left the house for the day. There was also no dishwasher detergent and hardly any dish soap. The master bedroom had "just" sheets on the bed and NO comforter. Who puts a bed together without a comforter? We had to ask the owners to bring a comforter, dish soap, and dishwasher soap. The owners did reimburse us for one day's stay because of the gas not being turned on, which was nice of them. Every mattress in the house was awful. They were like sleeping in a hammock. They also had plastic covers on them, which allowed the sheets to pull off while you slept. We had very interrupted sleep during our stay. We did not feel safe in the house or the neighborhood. We wish we would of known about the surrounding area. Had we known, we would have not stayed there. The flooring was bad! If you walked around barefoot, your feet were black, dirty, and dusty. It was quite gross. You had to either wear socks/slippers or carry a rag with you to clean your feet before crawling into bed. I don't think the floors had been cleaned in a long time. There was no access to a washer/dryer, which was unfortunate. No nightstands in the rooms, which was strange. The house has been "somewhat" redone on the inside. I would not recommend staying at this house. Thank goodness, we did not lounge around at the house because it was not comfortable to do so. We were gone from sun up to sun down. The key pad on the front door to put the code in, worked intermittently. When you get home late, in a bad area, you just want to get inside. It gave us trouble every time we used it...not ideal. I hate to leave such a bad review but I wish I had known everything about this house before we rented it. The posting was very misleading.

I am so sorry that the house was not to your satisfaction but we did offer you a full refund twice before you even entered the home and when the electricity company accidentally shut off our gas because of their account error and you decided to stay. We understand how that could have been upsetting and we take pride in customer service and constructive criticism. We felt the need to refund you one night of stay due to the inconvenience of the gas issue. We will go ahead and make necessary updates to the shed and to the lawn as well as ensure that we have enough dish soap and dishwasher soap for future guest. We will work with our cleaning crew about the floors and ensure that they are cleaned thoroughly. As far as washer and dryer we do not have that on our listing, the queen size bed with out a bed spread is also pictured without a bedspread in our photos but we did get you a brand new bed spread for your stay to accommodate for the chilly weather that morning. The mattress covers on the beds are to protect the beds but we will look into getting better mattress covers in the future. In regards to the neighborhood the home is located in a working class neighborhood which we put in the listing, but as you do know we do not have control of those types of situation hence why we have a state of the art alarm system which was available to you upon request. Nonetheless, thank you so much for your stay, it was a pleasure hosting you and your family.
