This was a perfect place in lieu of a hotel room. The place was very clean. Would definitely stay again. Thank you to Julie for the ongoing communication about our stay.
It was clean & newly renovated. Would have liked it to be better stocked. There was no shampoo or soap in the bathroom. We bought bottled water to use because of the sewage smell of the water. Great location. Stayed 4 nights. Enjoyed our stay very much.
Communication with owner- prompt, friendly, easy to work with. Conveniently located near family and affordable. We'll rent again when visiting the area.

It was a easier to host. Home was left clean and would love to host again.
We came to visit with some friends that live in the area. We weren't at the house much, but what time we were there, everything was perfect. Great place to stay and great communication from the property owner.
Had to switch at almost last minute, but host was great about offering us a different location at the same price. Host was very accommodating and friendly. House could use a few more dishes and a better setup of the lights. Most of the light switches didn't seem to work or would turn on lights in unexpected areas. However, that is really our only note on it as there was plenty of places for clothes, numerous coat hangers which isn't common, beds were comfortable, it had plenty of room, and having an accessible washer and dryer was great.
Clean, neat, easy to locate. Perfect for just myself and granddaughter. A bit further from White Stone than I thouught, but easy to get back and forth.
Julie was very nice and easy to get in contact with. The wifi worked very well. We liked the convenience of being able to wash our clothes. The beds were comfortable and the extra blankets around the house were a plus.

I didnt stay because its not 6 miles to urbanna by car its 50 not what i needed false advertising
This was our first Vrbo experience and it was very good. The host, Julie, was excellent when replying to questions. The cottage was very clean and neat. The kitchen was supplied for basic cooking and eating. We cooked breakfast there and had an occasional sandwich so it was more than we needed. The area is fairly remote but there is a ferry at the end of the road to take one over to other small towns on the Northern Neck. It was a good experience.
Impeccably clean and newly renovated home in a great location. My family and I have stayed here multiple times, and Julie has always been the most accommodating host. Her property is perfect for a long weekend escape or an even longer stay. This part of Lancaster County is a gem—abundant opportunities to get onto the water, nearby marinas, great restaurants, and abundant wildlife.
My parents and I stayed here for a few days. We're building our retirement home not far away. The cottage is just as advertised. It's a quaint little home w everything u need. Only a 15 minute drive from Kilmarnock. Cell phone and internet is a little spotty around there, but that's not unusual for this area. I loved watching the geese strut around the neighbors property. It's very quiet location but close enough to town. Would definitely recommend this little cottage.
Julie was on the very responsive whenever we contacted her. The place has recently been renovated and was a perfect layout for my husband, myself and fur babies.
I liked it. I really liked the sparse furnishings. I've stayed in several vacation rentals in Lancaster County, and one thing they've had in common is too much stuff: fragile tchotchkes, stacks of DVDs and board games, ornate dishes, all just begging for my kids to destroy and scatter, creating a nightmare at checkout time. A kitchen, washer and dryer, central A/C, and reliable internet is enough for us and that's what we got.
Close to a marina with boat rentals, and near the historic Merry Point Ferry, one of three remaining VDOT free ferries in the state. Fish or bike or kayak at Belle Isle State Park..
Important: The coffee apparatus is a Keurig dual machine that does both K-Cups and ground coffee with basket filters. Bring ground coffee or your own grinder. The owner very kindly provides a Brita filter in the fridge. I grew up around the corner from this place, so while I know all about and can appreciate the local well water, I am spoiled in my big city ways, so the filter was a nice touch.
While the location is/was convenient the water contained a rotten egg smell during entire stay. Owner was notified and stated “whenever it rains this occur because it’s well water”. The only day it rained was Friday, which is the day we arrived. It is worth mentioning that know one came to confirm this complaint until moments before checkout on Monday. After opening the water access and identifying the issue (he) the tech poured a solution down the drain pipe but to no avail.
This included shower and drinking water, which drinking water was an easy fix - purchased 2 cases of spring water. However, showering/bathing was an issue because utilizing water with a rotten egg odor and potentially hazardous to the skin.
The only remedy was an offer of 25% off next visit. Unfortunately we will not be returning to this property and does not recommend this property to any family.
