About this property

Lakefront property in North Hero, VT, Lake Champlain

www.carrybaygetaway.com

Situated right off of US-Route 2, Carry Bay Getaway is a single family vacation home that provides service for 8-10 guests: 2 queen beds, 4 twin beds in bunk style, and a queen pullout couch. Brand new carpets and paint have been implemented throughout, so furry friends are not welcome at this time.

Renovated fully in 2021, the property comes with dedicated lakefront access, a dock for boats and kayaks, and capabilities for fishing right off of the deck during high season! With the Adirondacks resting beyond the pink and orange sun-streaked sky, the million dollar view is something you'll have to see for yourself.

Enjoy cooking in a fully-equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances: fridge, gas range, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, and coffee maker (K-cup and pot). Hardwood floors and cottage-green cabinets frame the dining table—a perfect vibe for Sunday pancakes with Vermont maple syrup.

The two upstairs bedrooms boast tall windows opening up to an expansive lake-view that you can soak in with your morning coffee. A full bathroom with a shower and marble-topped double vanity allows busy couples and families to get ready and head out for the day.

A touch of New England graces every corner of the bedrooms, with Gardner Mattresses from Salem, MA and handmade bed frames from Claremont, NH. Enjoy cozy organic cotton and Pottery Barn bedding along with Turkish cotton bath linens.

You'll find fast Wifi and all your favorite streaming services on the living room flat screen, including Netflix, Hulu, and live TV stations. Kids and adults alike will enjoy the Nintendo Wii, with a selection of games. A Nest system and Schlage smart locks promote ease of operation!

The downstairs queen bedroom, attached to a full bath with shower/tub, also has a TV with streaming services.

Walk-out deck off of the spacious living room allows guests to sip some chilled chardonnay from the wine fridge  or grill up some fresh-caught fish. Warm up at the fire pit as the water laps up on the shore.

Large basement, with washer/dryer, allows guests to store bikes, poles, and gear.

Located in the narrow part of North Hero, this home is right on US-Route 2, conveniently accessed from 89, Quebec, St. Albans, and the rest of Grand Isle County; however, if some mild road noise is not your thing, this isn't the rental for you.

The driveway can support 2-3 cars.

Sparkling Clean

We were impressed by the immaculate condition of the rental as well as all the attention to the renter's needs, such as a welcome basket and well stocked kitchen and bathrooms. It is so nice to have a house that is well-equipped and well-appointed. The location on Carry Bay was lovely and we enjoyed beautiful sunsets and views of fish and a blue heron which was a constant visitor. George and Brett were very helpful and responsive and took care of any issues that arose. We would definitely consider renting again!

Carry Bay cottage rental.

House was very much as described. Cottage right on Lake Champlain with modern conveniences such as new appliances and central A/C. House is on a very quiet cove with direct access to Lake Champlain. The water level in the lake was way down which made swimming in front of the house difficult, but a short boat ride to deeper water allowed for any and all water activities. Great spot for fishermen also. We were catching fish all week in the main body and we caught a nice 5 pound largemouth right off the dock. Kids loved the firepit for making S'mores and having good internet access was also a nice feature for the teenagers.

Love the Champlain islands

We vacationed at Carry Bay with four adults and four children. We loved the house and it fit all of us comfortably. It is newly renovated, nicely stocked home with all you need and there are nice little details throughout. There are items in the home from small businesses, including a nice welcome basket with goodies to try from local artisans. The owners provided two adult and two kids kayaks for us to use. We spent hours on the lake out fishing and floating around in the bay. There is great fishing right off the house. My daughter caught a four pound bass and my husband a good sized northern pike right in the small bay. With many other fish in between. As mentioned in the last review the bay was not deep enough to swim in, so the kids would kayak out a ways to jump in and get wet. Our kids love to swim, so we did find a nice sandy bottom beach nearby at Alburgh state park only about a 10-15 minute ride away. We loved North Hero and the the Champlain Islands. We enjoyed going to the local farmers Market, the North Hero general store and gift shop, and had a great meal at the North Hero House right on the water with a beautiful sunset. We took day trips to Burlington and a ferry over to New York to go to the beach in Plattsburgh. There is a great bike path out over the water with a ferry that connects you in the middle of an old rail trial out of south Hero. There are many adventures to have if you get out and explore! The owners Brett and George were helpful leading up to our stay, answering any questions I had and they checked in with us during and after our stay to see if we had all we needed! We appreciate them sharing their home with us. We had a great vacation and our kids made wonderful lasting memories with their cousins!!
