About this property
3 Bedroom Cabin at Autumn Dancer Llama Farm...Pet Friendly...Fenced Yard
Are you an animal lover who would love to vacation at a place where there is peace and quiet as well as all kinds of animals, both domestic and wildlife, to watch? Do you stress when planning a vacation because you can’t bring your dog(s) along? Then Cabin at Autumn Dancer Llama Farm is the place for you. The cabin is situated on 17 acres of beautifully rolling hills directly below Meadow Creek Mountain. For your canine family members (we allow up to 5 dogs...size doesn't matter and no pet fee). We offer 1/2 acre of fenced backyard so that they may run and play as well as a fenced deck. We've replaced the backyard fence and have added pictures showing the cabin with the new fence.
Our cabin has three bedrooms and two full baths. The Master bedroom has a king sized bed, and its own bathroom. The other two bedrooms each have a queen-sized bed.
The kitchen is fully stocked with pots and pans, a crock pot, electric roaster pan, coffee pot (regular Mr. Coffee type), toaster oven, four-slice toaster, and many other items for folks who want to do their own cooking. There is seating for 6 at the kitchen table.
The living room has a flat screen TV with a DVD player available for your convenience.
The back porch is where everyone likes to sit and enjoy the view. There is a large hot tub on the deck with two separate sitting areas. We have a professional gas grill that is hooked up to our large propane tank so you will never have to worry about bringing your own propane. There are also BBQ utensils so you don't have to bring those. The backyard and upper deck are fully fenced for the safe containment of your pets and younger children.
Our Farm:
We have a working farm in the foothills of the Cherokee National Forest. Our farm is 100+ years old (it was originally a dairy farm back in 1900) and has an extensive history. The cabin was originally the hired man's house (although it has been totally renovated) and the 120+ year old farmhouse across the street is where we live. An avenue divides the cabin and the farmhouse which allows everyone to have their privacy. We will welcome our guests when they first check in to make sure everything is okay at the cabin. We are out and about twice a day to feed and/or check on the Llamas and horses; if our guests have questions about the Llamas/horses then we are available. We are always available if there are issues with the cabin. Otherwise, we try and stay invisible so our guests have their privacy.
When you are walking around the property, our four equines (including a miniature mule and one miniature donkey) will often come up to the fence to welcome the “newcomers.” It’s amazing how many dogs have never been “up close and personal” with a horse! Our horses (and mule and donkey) used to be able to graze in the hilly pasture by the cabin. These "equines" are now quite elderly (Sweetie is 33; Tucker is 35; Ernest is 22 and Emma is 20) and it's too scary to have them graze in that pasture. Guests can still see and interact with them in the flat pasture that's across from our mailbox. It's about a 2-minute walk and they will be there to greet you, especially is there's carrots involved!
The hilly pasture by the cabin is now a great place to view wildlife. We have a herd of deer that is always in the pasture (including beautiful fawns throughout the year); wild turkey; ground hogs; rabbits; squirrels; many types of birds, and one year we had a fox with two kits! Although we've missed the viewing sometimes bear will be seen walking down the road below the cabin. In the spring, you may see the granddaddy of all snapping turtles moving from the pond below the cabin, up to the pond below our farmhouse. This guy is huge and has been here as long as we've lived here (22+ years) and he always makes his trip from one pond to the other. As you can see, there's always something unique to see at the farm!
Our Llamas are housed in a pasture that has a barn on both ends of the pasture. Lately, they have been staying in the barn area towards the back of the pasture, although they may come up to greet cabin guests. In the morning and late afternoon they tend to graze in the pasture by the cabin so you may be able to see them at that time. Be aware that Llamas are more like cats than dogs. If they want to come and visit with the guests they will do so, otherwise the guests must go to them. There's a nice "avenue" that guests can walk down to see the Llamas if they are in the back barn. We are so happy to have these wonderful animals as a part of our farm family!
If you are going to arrive after dark then PLEASE let us know...we send directions but it is difficult in a rural area to follow directions after sunset. We encourage all of our guests to please try to arrive before dark...otherwise contact us so we will be available if you need assistance driving to the cabin.

This property was everything we wanted, private, clean, plenty of room, beautiful location. The cabin had everything that you needed. (Towel, dishes, soap etc) you literally only need to pack your clothes and bring food. We loved it, our dogs loved it! We can’t wait to go again.
A perfect getaway! The cabin is located in an idyllic setting with views of mountains, lush green valley and the host's equines from the large covered porch with hot tub and lots of seating options. The llamas are just on the other side of the cabin and wander down to just a few steps away from the front door. The cabin is equipped with anything you could think of and is spotless and nicely decorated in a country/llama theme. The check-in was easy and the host communications were great. Our two dogs felt right at home with a fenced in grassy yard right off the porch. We highly recommend this cabin!
The cabin is extremely pet friendly. Such a cozy and relaxing place to stay with your pets. This was my 4th stay thère. Ginny&Ed are the best. Always feels like home when we get there.

Liked: Check-in, communication, listing accuracy
The host was supper nice and very pleasant to communicate with. All the basic amenities were provided just as the description of the property list. This is a very dog friendly property. We had 1 large dog and 1 9lb Yorkie. The fencing was done so in a way that even the smallest of pups couldn't slip through. They even provide toys for the pets. The cabin looked very cozy and nicely decorated. My complaint with cleanliness is that there was pet hair in the fridge, stove, microwave, and dishwasher. It appeared as though the cleaning staff used the same cloth to wipe out appliances that was used elsewhere. I did not bring this to the owners attention, I simply cleaned all appliances myself, washed all dishes by hand before using them. For me, it was just easier this way. I was also disappointed in the activity of the animals. The 4 Llama only came out in the field twice while we were there. The horse and donky were rarely seen across the property and there were warming signs that they would bite and kick. I expected to be able to have more hands on interactions with the animals and it was the only reason we selected this property. With that being said, it is still a very nice cabin for rest and relaxation but know that other homes can be seen and heard from the porch. There is a lodge within sight that were having a party the Sat night we were there so one night of our stay was quite noisy as we attempted to flee our city dwelling.
We really enjoyed our stay, very peaceful. The long driveway was burdensome but we managed.

It was so nice having you here. Actually the long driveway is S Chapel Rd which is a County road. Once you get up to our mailboxes, at the top of the road, then it becomes the driveway which we maintain. In September, we had a flood (Hurricane Helene) and the County Road Department lost all their equipment. They recently replaced the equipment and then they had a massive fire in the road department's barn that, again, destroyed the equipment. Before the flood, we were on track to get the road repaved! I don't know how long it will be before they replace the equipment from the fire so our road can be maintained.
This is the most relaxed we have been, in a long time. It was wonderful. My favorite thing was waking up and going to say hello to the animals. We had everything we needed! Thank you millers.
We enjoyed our stay with our 2 teenagers and our dogs. The property is beautiful, the house is cozy and clean, and the animals are adorable. It was a fun, relaxing stay and we would definitely return.
There are so many reasons to love Autumn Dancer Llama Farm. One is that there cannot be a more dog friendly place to vacation. My dogs that came with me could not have been more relaxed or enjoyed their time more than they did. The large and fully fenced yard is very secure and safe -- there is a spot-light for nighttime use and the porch/deck has a gate if keeping your dogs closer to you is what you prefer. The cabin is lovely with country charm with all the modern amenities - There is plenty of seating on the back porch to relax and enjoy the view or a meal - And inside you can watch a favorite TV show and easily connect to the internet to check your e-mails. The cabin is clean and very well maintained and has all you need for a perfect getaway. The kitchen has any needed pots or pans and dishes too - And if you've forgotten that something extra to make dinner, you might just find it stocked in the cabin - And if not, the owners, Ed and Ginny Miller (who are truly the best!) can point you in the direction to find it. I hope I can return soon to this most special place where you truly feel right at home when you're trying to escape everyday life!!
We have stayed here many times and truly enjoy the quite countryside. We only had time for a weekend getaway this time. Thank you for having us and our dogs again.
This is our second girls trip here and it’s so beautiful and peaceful we had a great time. We loved just sitting on the porch watching the animals and talking.
We just returned home from a three night stay at the llama farm, and we had an absolute blast! We had three dogs with us and the entire fenced in yard was taken full advantage of. Snoop Dogg would like to apologize to any birds that he harassed! This cabin has literally everything you need just pack groceries and show up. We will most definitely planning a trip back hopefully in the spring so we can see all the colors!! Thank you to the host we loved it there!
The cabin became our home away from home for a month and we enjoyed every moment. Our hosts thought of everything to make our visit easy and enjoyable. We loved the llamas, horses, and donkeys.
This property was excellent for our family and our dogs. Short drive to all attractions and then back to the country to relax from hustle and bustle. Everyone is ready to go back

About the host
Hosted by Ed and Ginny Miller
We are Ginny & Ed Miller. I'm a native Texan (with roots in Tennessee) while Ed is from Upstate New York. We lived in the Clear Lake City, Texas area for 21 years where we worked for NASA/Johnson Space Center. From Houston, we moved to Colorado Springs for a year and then Washington, DC for 17 years. Ed worked for the Department of Defense while I worked in the human resources field in several different industries.
Why they chose this property
Ed's brother moved to Parrottsville and was married here. The reception was held at a local resort within walking distance of our cabin. Family members stayed at the cabin prior to us purchasing it from the resort, less than 6 months later. We fell in love with the quiet beauty of this area. It took us almost 4 years before we were able to move to Parrottsville and enjoy this 'little piece of heaven' on a full-time basis.
What makes this property unique
The peace and quiet are something that can't be described. For people who live "life in the fast lane" the peacefulness of our farm can help our guests to become back "in balance." At night we don't have "light pollution" so the evening sky is beyond description. Many nights, we can see the Milky Way. Again, it's difficult to describe the beauty of walking outside and seeing a sky full of planets/stars with meteorites trailing across in the distance.
