Our hosts couldn't have been more caring and considerate. The home was ample and very comfortable. The extra wide dock has seating for everyone and beautiful sunset views. Pontoon boat, kayaks, and paddle board all provided...and so much fun!
Needed a calm, peaceful home to stay at to attend a family funeral. It was all that and more! Enough room for all and a peaceful lakefront that spoke to our souls. Thank you!
Although the house was roomy and clean, the beds were terrible. The one mattress was all broken down and smelled of cat. The other was unusable as a pull-out couch, we had to put the 3" mattress on the floor. The other two beds in the attic were in alcoves and the whole area was too hot despite a ductless air conditioner. The dock was great, but nobody slept well.
There was plenty of room for myself, and 11 other family and friends. Everyone could sit at the dining room table comfortably. We cooked out on the dock and the hardier people had a great time kayaking and swimming. The stair chair was an unexpected bonus! A family friend had recently had a broken leg and the chair made the upstairs easily accessible. We had a wonderful four days.

Trish and her guests were wonderful. They took care of the house and were very easy to communicate with. We would recommend them to other hosts.
A truly special and heartwarming stay at The Lakehouse! My family and I recently stayed at The Lakehouse at Lake Mahopac to celebrate my father-in-law's 89th birthday. He had vacationed in the area as a teenager and hadn't been back in over 60 years, so this was a truly special trip. We were immediately welcomed by the gracious and accommodating hosts, Susan and Alex, who even let us check in earlier than expected. Alex was also incredibly helpful and patient throughout our stay, especially when we had a few questions. We were delighted to discover that the owner had known some of my father-in-law's relatives from when they lived in the area decades ago, which was an amazing and heartwarming coincidence. The house itself was very clean, spacious, and the kitchen was exceptionally well-stocked, making it easy to prepare our meals. A unique and very helpful feature was the motorized chair on the staircase, which was a huge help for my in-laws who have limited mobility. The major selling point for us was the huge deck and pier across the road from the house. We rented the pontoon boat for an additional charge, and it was worth every penny. Alex was extremely patient and informative in teaching us how to operate the boat, especially the techniques for docking. We took the boat out three times to tour the lake, even passing by the famous Frank Lloyd Wright house on Petre Island. The outdoor amenities were fantastic. We made great use of the grills in the spacious backyard and on t
We had a wonderful stay at Susan’s lake house! She’s an amazing host—super responsive, helpful, and a pleasure to work with. The house was perfect for our group of three families with kids. The third floor was ideal for kids, with two bedrooms (each with a double bed), two nooks with air beds, and a full bathroom. We’d suggest upgrading the air bed bedding with mattress pads, newer sheets, and comforters, plus providing a pump as the beds were a bit low on air. This wasn’t an issue for us since we brought our own air mattresses. The pullout sofa and queen bed were very comfortable. The king waterbed was fine for one person but could be updated to a regular mattress to accommodate more than one individual (the heavier person creates a hump pushing the other to the bed edge). The lakefront and dock were the highlight—multiple seating areas, a large grill, and a shed with a refrigerator and storage made it perfect for relaxing. Both the kitchen and dock fridges were stocked with condiments, which was thoughtful, though we’d prefer leftovers from previous guests be cleared out.We also rented the pontoon boat, which was a fantastic experience for kids and adults alike. Getting out into the middle of the lake to swim and explore was a trip highlight.Overall, this home offers an incredible setting for families to relax, connect, and enjoy the lake—especially with such a wonderful host. With just a few small updates, it would be truly perfect!
