Whether you enjoy the spring and summer for fishing and kayaking, the fall colors are unbelievable, and if you love snow season, snowmobile in the Allegheny forest in only a few miles away.
As a reminder, our cabin is located in nature and by a river. it is not unusual to see various wildlife around. At night, bugs love to hang around the outdoor lights, we have the home treated for pests 4 times a year. You know that pest control is working if you find dead or "slow" bugs. We do find an occasional deceased pest in a window sill or corner of a room.
Caution during the Winter Season - Keep in mind that in winter, we can receive quite a bit of snow. Therefore basic precaution and preparedness are recommended when you visit us (such as a shovel, ice melt...). Our driveway is on a downhill. In case of snow, it may take our team over 24 hrs to plow the driveway and shovel the entrance of the lodge. Depending on the condition and your vehicle, you may have challenges to drive back up the hill. We recommend using a 4 WD vehicle and we also recommend to stay park at the entrance of the driveway.
No Party or events
Please remove shoes inside the home. Our Cabin is mostly carpet and mud and debris can be challenging for our cleaning crew. If there is noticeable sign that outdoor shoes wear worn inside, we will add a $150 cleaning fee for carpet cleaning.

The home is not connected to city water. We have a well on property that provides water to the home. The well water is fully drinkable water but if you are not used to it, you may need to acquire a taste for it. We recommend that you bring your own water bottles.
We have a propane grill and a charcoal grill. We do supply the propane but if you wish to use the charcoal grill, please plan to bring your own charcoal.
The property has a great fire-pit on the bank of the river. We have a wood guy that can supply you with wood for your stay for a fee (for the fire-pit and wood stove). They deliver a truck ($105) or half truck load ($65). Please let us know in advance as it usually take a 2 days notice to get the wood. If you need a smaller quantity of wood, there are plenty of people selling wood bundles on the way there or you can bring your own.

My kids and I stayed for three nights while we explored the area. We all thoroughly enjoyed it and this was a nice place to come back to at the end of the day.
Ideal setting for relaxation and decompression! We loved sitting by the river just spending time together and enjoying the fire pit. We had everything we needed for a simple restful getaway!
We had a mini winter vacation here, and everything was wonderful! It is a beautiful and comfortable place, and provided everything we needed. The view of the river is stunning!
We had an excellent stay. This was a birthday present trip for our 80 year old mother. The view is amazing, we spent hours just enjoying the river and all the animals around and in it! A spectacular place to stay, I really want to visit again.
We had such a restful and peaceful experience! This cabin was tip top with all of the amenities! Vince was an exceptional host and we look forward to returning for a longer stay!
Great riverside property. The amenities exceeded our expectations. Awesome location, easily accessible but private. The host, Vince, has created a wonderful getaway. We look forward to another stay.
We enjoyed our stay. Beautiful view!!! Home was very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed watching deer cross the river in the morning. Wish there was more distance to the main road, other than that the stay was peaceful and quiet.
We had agreat time!! The cabin was nice and in a great location!! We went riding in Allegheny National forest during the day and fished on the bank of the river in front of the cabin at night!! It quiet and perfect for our family!!
Wonderful, peaceful spot right on the water. Clean and comfortable house. The beds were great even! Great place to recharge and spend some time with Mama Nature.
We had a wonderful get away! Our goal was to be more present as a family and do some nature things. This cabin was in the perfect place to do this! Nearby hikes, great waterfront to fish and search for cool rocks (something our son loves to do). We definitely plan to be back!
Great location. Right on the water. Just wanted to get away for a couple of days & enjoy the national forest. This was close & made for nice evening beside the fire. Watched a couple of bald eagles in the morning on the island across from the cabin. Place was as described. Would stay again
We love the northern part of the Allegheny River. This cabin is the perfect place to stay and enjoy the Allegheny away from the city. Fishing and swimming was a blast. Cabin was perfectly clean with amenities available. Fire pit right against the river was relaxing at night. Oh and the kayaking was really nice. We saw a bald eagle while several times while there.

My family has been coming to Tidioute since the early 50s at a cabin they built about 2 miles up the river. We reside in the Pittsburgh area and I have traveled up here my entire life to enjoy the Allegheny River and the National Forest for fishing and hunting.
