LISBON'S MUNICIPAL TOURIST TAX WILL BE COLLECTED CASH BY CHECK-IN (EUR 4 per person over the age of 13 and per overnight stay, up to a maximum of 7 nights per stay).

Located in the heart of the medieval Moorish and Jewish neighborhood of Alfama, the apartment has a stunning water view over the Tagus estuary. Within walking distance from many of Lisbon's leading museums and monuments, the apartment is in close proximity to local grocers and supermarkets as well as neighborhood restaurants, cafes, bars as well as eclectic shops of every kind.

The apartment is in an 18th century building nestled into a steep slope of one of Lisbon’s hills, 100 meters above sea level. So while its main and private entrance is on the ground-floor, you can enjoy the stunning river view from the second floor balconies on the other side of the apartment, without having to climb any stairs.

The building is facing south, the apartment is sunny and bright all day long. You can sit in the living room and admire Lisbon’s beauty while overlooking red-tiled rooftops that are set against the blue water of the Tagus river.

The apartment is in close proximity to all types of public transportation: tram, bus and subway.

OTHER THINGS TO NOTE:
- June 13th is Saint Anthony's day (Lisbon city holiday) and so it is a time of festivities, with traditional parties in the streets all over Lisbon until dawn, mainly in the oldest and most historical neighborhoods. The neighborhood of Alfama (where the apartment is) is one of the main sites of these festivities, with music, dancing, food, and hundreds of people in the streets. These festivities usually take place over a whole week, but mostly on the weekends before and after the 13th, and also on the night of the 12th to 13th of June. Our apartment has double-glazed windows and heavy wooden shutters, but on these days it will be noisier than usual. However, this is a very special time in Lisbon and it is worth joining the party :-).

- We prepare the house with all our care, attention to detail and tailored to our guests. We ask you to look after it with the same care and in the best way possible.

- Respect the neighbours not making too much noise, especially after 10 pm.

- We can be flexible with check-in and check-out timings as long as they do not conflict with other reservations.

- When making your reservation for more than two guests, please note that there is a small extra payment. This will be visible in the breakdown of the total price of the reservation.

- Casa d'Alfama is duly registered in the Tourism Authority of Portugal (#986/AL) and respects Portuguese laws and regulations.

Lovely, quiet, and spacious apartment in a wonderfully walkable location with easy access to transit. A little off the tourist trail, which we appreciated, while still being close to amenities and activities. The apartment came fully furnished with everything you need to settle in (we stayed for two weeks; cooked, cleaned, did laundry). Artistic and quirky, yet still comfortable with small children-- feels lived in. Our stay was in January, but the apartment was light and airy, and kept warm with radiators, as well as lots of blankets on the beds and couches, and other cozy touches. The host (Paulo) was incredibly warm and welcoming. He was easy to communicate with even in English and very responsive/responsible. He provided great guidance and recommendations too!

This was a fantastic place! We really loved it, it was comfortable and a brilliant location. The toys they put together for our kids were so thoughtful and the communication throughout was helpful and informative. Only thing that would improve the apartment is air conditioning but there were lots of fans which meant it was cool enough!

We stayed for 4 nights in this Alfama district of Lisbon. It is the oldest part of town and for us, has the most charming character. For those looking for a place for a family of four, we enjoyed the apartment and its proximity to many sites. Paulo was a kind host and met us at check-in. Communication is excellent both pre and post arrival- thank you Paulo!!The apartment has an amazing view and a kitchen outfitted with all necessities. We appreciated returning here after all the daily uphill walking that is Alfama!My teens loved that we didn’t have a ‘hotel’ experience in Lisbon, and this rental was great! I would recommend it.

A week in Lisbon

The apartment has the perfect location to discover Lisbon. We were picked up from the airport in the late evening. Thanks again Paulo! The apartment is huge and arranged in a very individual way: pictures and art figures as well as the nice furniture.Only the bathroom would need a renovation.The dishwasher was broken.Besides this we enjoyed our stay a lot!

Best place to experience Old Town

This was our first visit to Lisbon but the Alfama seemed the most interesting from our research. This apartment was ideally suited for walking “tours”. The bakery is just down the street, the restaurants near the Musee da Faro we’re excellent, and the view of the river was extraordinary. The owner and her team were very helpful and spoke excellent English, overcoming our terrible Portuguese!

Best place to stay with small children

Without a doubt, best place to stay with small children, ages 2 and 4. Fully equiped, felt like home with cooking essentials, high chair, potty, crib, extra beds, toys and childrens books galore. Small private second bedroom for children. Beautiful view of the river. Tons of light and open space. In the center of Alfama, close to great city views, restaurants, trams, fado. We loved our stay and will return!

The apartment is wonderful with little touches that matter when traveling with littles (toys, laundry detergent, excessive towels). The location is incredible with Fado outside your window. The garbage cans, which are directly outside the window, are emptied in the middle of the night (every night), which as many reviews suggest can be noisy.

Cutest apartment in the heart of Lisbon

This apartment is absolutely perfect with an amazing view of the river. It's quiet at night and with the doors open you can hear the Fado performances at the local restaurants. It's within walking distance to plenty of restaurants and cafes. Our personal favorite is the Clara Clara Cafe - the most delicious Portuguese bread with yet another amazing view! We did need to Uber to more of a night life in the Barrio Alto neighborhood but Uber is extremely affordable. Our host was amazing and maintained contact with us the entire trip to make sure our needs were being met. I highly recommend this place!

Property is in great location. Alfama district is loaded with restaurants, coffee shops, and Fado open mike places. Can be heard from the property. When researching for places to stay in Lisbon, I couldn't believe all 100+ reviews of the property gave a "5" star rating. Once there, the ratings were confirmed. Starts off with the check-in process. Ana was very thorough and kicked off a very great stay in Lisbon, The property had everything we needed. Highly recommend.

Charming stay in Alfama

Ana and Pedro were lovely and helped us with so many things. First we needed to find a parking lot for our car and they have suggestions. They actually met us at the entrance the neighborhood to show us how to get to the apartment and then Pedro drove with us to lot to leave our car. Great service!! The place was perfect for our needs, except the renters upstairs were loud late into the night. This was no fault of Ana and Pedro. Just unfortunate. Pedro went and talked to the neighbors which helped to quiet things down. Top notch service.
