Classy, elegant, comfortable, at the entrance of the Castle

Alfama 6 is located at 15, Chao da Feira Street, 2nd floor (no lift), right in front of the walls and entrance arch of Sao Jorge Castle.

Walking in this centuries old neighbourhood is like diving into history: Lisbon was born here and grew along the centuries towards the river.
The area is mostly pedestrian, extremely picturesque, composed of cute narrow streets and tiny quares.
During the day the quarter is usually crowded, as are the small grocery stores, local restaurants and fado houses. In the evening the human tide that visits the Castle vanish into other parts of town and the quarter turns to be very quiet and calm.

Alfama 6 is on a 2nd floor (no lift) of an old building. Apartment was completele and tastefully renovated in 2015 to 21st Century needs and standars, without loosing its historical charm. It is bright, cheery and filled with modern conveniences.
Decoration aims class, elegance, but also the coomfort of feeling at home.

Apartment can accomodate up to 4 people.
Flat is composed of a cozy living room, modern and extremely well equipped kitchen and bathroom and two good size bedrooms, full of light and with storage areas.

From the front of the building you have nice views over the Castle walls and entrance arch, as well as, the street itself, always full of life during the day. 737 bus stop is right in front of the building, very convenient in case you do not feel like climbing up from downtown!

Lastly, it is not possible to drive a private car nor take an Uber/Bolt car till the front door of the apartment.

Very clean, matched online photos, nice location, bus stop right out front to get around city. Well stocked to use kitchen. Hosts, Marco and Rui, provided excellent communication from start to finish. Rui greeted us at the apartment with a lovely smile, helped us with our bags, and explained how everything worked and where to find the nearest grocery store, bakery, and a few good restaurants. Definitely would recommend for a family or a group of friends (I stayed with my two 20 something kids and it was great).

Rui and Mario were perfect hosts. Welcoming and accommodating, nothing was too much problem for them.The apartment was in a vibrant authentic area but still able to walk into town. 2 minutes to one of the most beautiful sunsets in Lisbon.Lots of local places to eat and a supermarket I walking distance.The apartment was spacious and clean for two parents and two teenagers. Would definitely stay there again and highly recommend

We had a great time in Lisbon and the apartment was the ideal base. Don’t be put off by the entrance and staircase up to the apartment. Once you are inside the place is lovely. Two nice bedrooms, good size for us and our two daughters (aged 12 and 7). Kitchen and bathroom were nice as well. Bus stop right outside the front door is helpful because Lisbon in hilly and the flat feels like it’s at the top of the hill! We were there in early July with mid-30’s temperatures so those hills can be tough but the bus service was great. Lovely bars, restaurants and cafes in the local area and the views are great.

It was a great stay!It had everything we needed, comfy beds, nice washroom and kitchen.Mario/Rui were able to also provide us early check-in which was highly appreciated!Just a couple notes, it is in a hilly area, that uber/bolt cannot fully access, but taxis can. Uber/bolt can drop you off nearby but it is a short hilly walk on cobblestone. To keep in mind for big luggage. Also, the stairs are very steep, and did see a cockroach in the stairs area. But inside house is very clean! Would recommend staying here if you enjoy the more historic side of lisbon!

We were welcomed by our host even though it was late at night. The apartment was clean and welcoming. The host left maps for us so we knew how to get to a bakery/grocery store. The location was close to amenities and very close to the Castle de Jorge so it would be helpful to go early because it’s very busy. Bus stop was right across the street from the apartment.

Very much enjoyed staying here and would highly recommend to anyone who wants to experience the heart and soul of Lisbon. The location was perfect for exploring the city with easy access to many points of interest by foot or public transportation. Felt very safe and relaxed despite being in an area with a lot of tourists exploring Alfama and making their way to the castle; and very quite at night. Access was a bit challenging due to the steep hills and the very narrow and steep stairway to the flat (almost like a ship's ladder), which was great for a vacay workout, but not recommended for anyone with or mobility issues or lack of stamina. The apartment was spacious and well-appointed with everything needed for an extended stay. There were a few minor maintenance/cleaning issues that could use attention but overall a very good value. Visited during mid-August, the hottest time of the year, but slept comfortably despite the lack of air conditioning as the nights were cooler and portable fans were provided in each room. Communication with our host was excellent and check-in/out very easy!

Great location in Alfama just at the entrance to the castle. Had the best coffees and orange juice at the shop next door. While the hill is a bit daunting, it’s totally worth it. Check in was easy, wonderful welcome by host. Highly recommend.

Great Stay

The apartment was clean and well appointed. The location was right by the St. Jorge Castle wall so was centrally located. The stairs to the apartment were very steep but were not an issue for us. The owner was very prompt and helpful when we had any questions. Great stay!

A fantastic location! Away from the hustle and bustle but many nice restaurants in walking distance. Right by the entrance to Sao Jorge Castle. A fantastic apartment to stay in, comfy, clean and had everything you needed. Couldn’t recommend it enough!!

My son and I had a wonderful stay here with no complaints. Great location, just below the Castelo de São Jorge. The apartment is very clean and comfortable. The area felt safe and it was quiet at night which was perfect for sleeping with windows open. Everything you need within walking distance. Easy check in with Rui who met us at the apartment when we arrived. Communication was excellent and very friendly. We would stay here again.

Great Location, Comfortable apartment

Situated at the entrance to the castle, the location could not be better to see all the sights of Alfama. Perfect for us as we have a 20 year old daughter, so she had her own space. Mario, the host was fantastic in his communication and assistance. We spent 4 nights and had a great time. The area is very busy during the day but quiet at night which was ideal. Only concern for some people is very steep stairs, okay for us but not if you have mobility issues

Just perfect

Great location close to the castle. Quiet during the night. Very well equipped kitchen and the whole apartment was very clean. There is no air conditioning but the powerful ventilators did a great job even during days at 37 Celsius. The stairs are very abrupt; good for carry-on luggage but would be difficult with big ones. I definitely recommend!!

Castle Views

The apartment was perfect. I kept imagining living there full time. A lot of fun to be right outside the castle with easy access to restaurants and shops and Lisbon public transportation. Our contact upon arrival was VERY helpful and flexible as we arrived later than expected. Mario was great in arranging our early taxi to the airport. Would definitely stay here again!

Perfect Location in Alfama

Love the apartment, especially the kitchen to make breakfast or a meal when not eating out. Mario was a great host and prompt with communication before and during our stay. Personal checkin process was smooth and welcoming. Narrow stairs to 2nd floor were tricky with a big bag, but manageable. Recommend highly.
