For our first visit to Oak Island, this was such cute home and the location was perfect and it was quiet. It was great that our family members we were able to have their pets with them. I would suggest this home to friends and family

The only review I’ve seen for this house was written after I had already booked, and there is no refund offered. The pictures and description were deceiving. There are too many issues to mention, but I’ll list a few that stood out. The house has not been fully remodeled. It has been painted, and the flooring and kitchen appliances replaced. The house is dirty…the baseboards and blinds were covered in dust/dirt, the floors were sandy, the sofa pillows covered in dog hair, the area rugs were in need of cleaning, and the inside of the kitchen cabinets and drawers were disgusting. No screens, so no leaving doors open, and the back door gets stuck. The bath towels provided were small and thin, and only two sets per bedroom. Cookware is scant and some of it was dirty. We made a Walmart run and bought an electric skillet, water kettle, and cooking utensils. We already had our own coffee press, so didn’t have to use the coffee maker there. The vacuum in the closet was in pieces. We had to replace the deadbolt batteries. The carport is full of rusty nails, so beware. The redeeming qualities: the view, the sofa, loveseat and chair in family room, and the deck furniture. We did like that the bed linens were delivered wrapped and ready for us to put on the beds, and the mattresses were okay. We have had such good luck with VRBO, but would not recommend this house.

House needs upgrading

Toilets/ shower is outdated and needs replacing. Lamps and blinds broken. Floors, rug, and carpet dirty. Mattress covers dirty and had hair all over them. Towel rack broken. Had to call maintenance to repair rack and blinds. Most of the windows down stairs didn’t have blinds. It was too open. Bedroom door had duck tape holding the glass in. Kitchen cabinets not lined and dirty. Cabinets not organized. Outside furniture rusty and outdated. Not a good stay at all.
