About this property

DEER LAKE LODGE: A Historic Gem

Escape to Deer Lake Lodge, a cheerful historic farmhouse in the heart of the scenic Almaguin Highlands.

HISTORIC & HOMEY
Deer Lake Lodge is a four bedroom farmhouse that has been lovingly restored while maintaining its rustic charm. The first thing you’ll notice is the large eat in family kitchen beckoning you in with a dining table that can comfortably seat eight people making it the perfect way to come together for meals. The homey living room features two sofas, a Smart TV, a wood stove, and lots of board games for spending quality time together. If you need some alone time, soaking in the heavenly clawfoot bathtub is a tiny bit of heaven.

OUTDOOR LIVING AT ITS FINEST
Two large outdoor porches provide quiet corners to enjoy a drink while taking in the magnificent view. The deck has an outdoor table and a sitting area while you cook up a feast on the BBQ or fire up the wood-burning pizza oven. Connect with family and friends as you sit around the campfire at the end of the day mesmerized by "nature’s TV" as the flames from your campfire dance under the starry night sky.

A FOUR SEASON PLAYLAND
Nestled in the hills and lakes of cottage country, the Almaguin Highlands is a four season outdoor playland. In the warmer weather enjoy water sports, hiking, biking, horseback riding, ATVing, or take a road trip to visit our quaint villages and artisan galleries. From May to October your stay comes with a FREE PROVINCIAL PARK PASS to nearby Mikisew which has clean quiet beaches, great hiking trails, and a frisbee golf course. Winter brings snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling at our doorstep and dog sledding just 30 minutes away.

PERFECT FOR MORE THAN ONE COUPLE OR LARGE FAMILIES
Deer Lake Lodge can comfortably sleep 7 people in 4 cozy bedrooms. On the second floor you’ll find a queen, two doubles, and a twin bedroom. If you need to do a working holiday, Deer Lake Lodge has excellent WIFI and a light filled office nook in the attic with a big sky view.

MAGIC AND MAIN STREET
We are a 20-minute drive from South River where you’ll find the Crystal Caves, the biggest mineral exhibit in Canada and the most magical crystal shop you will ever set foot inside guaranteed. Then head 10 minutes down the road to Sundridge where you’ll find a quaint main street featuring a cozy cafe, shops and restaurants.

PETS WELCOME
Share your glamping adventure with your fur baby for a $50 pet fee. In summer take your pooch to Mikisew Provincial Park, there you’ll find a dog beach where they can romp around and cool off.

The most peaceful place i have ever stayed

A very nice farm house charm that is suited for a quiet stay. We enjoyed the Provincial park pass and went to both Mikisew and Arrowhead provincial parks for great forest trail walks. The evening was most tranquil with a nice bonfire to finish your day fur pl

Home away from home

The owner was absolutely fabulous and quick to reply when we had questions. The property was large and quiet with a beautiful view of the night sky in the evenings and the firepit outside was a nice treat! The beds were super comfy and the fans helped keep us nice and comfortable while we slept! Lovely getaway from the city for sure!

Magical Getaway in the Woods

The perfect escape! The lodge is fun, warm and welcoming. A comfy winter opportunity to relax, unwind and recharge with walks in the woods and nearby Mikisew Provincial Park. The interior is beautifully curated and designed with impeccable attention to every little detail. A wonderful work of colour, art and creativity! Sara was responsive and professional. This is a special property and we are grateful Sara was willing to share it with us.
