"MEN TOUL" - "the pierced stone" - means (translated from the Breton) - this really imposing and typically Breton manor house. A large granite construction that sleeps 12 in six bedrooms and three bathrooms. Two huge decks, one granite the other a wood deck. A really huge garden (15,000m²) surrounds the 250m² holiday home. Through the large garden you can reach the sea directly. The bathing bay with the sandy beach of Kervenny is only 150 m away. In this bay there are four restaurants with a wonderful sea view. You can reach them on foot in a very short time - you will also find the best oysters at LEGRIS within walking distance. A unique house in a stunning location; and right in front of the villa is Europe's largest stone-built lighthouse - always close at hand from the terrace, your living room and your garden. With your family or with your friends, children and your dogs, you won't be able to forget a holiday here in a hurry, the overall ambience is so beautiful, with the unique location and the extraordinarily beautiful and stately typical Breton granite house. Of course, the entire house and the entire property is rented out, everything is at your sole and private disposal.

Lovely holiday, terrible aftermath

I knew the house from a previous stay in 2018 - fine house, wonderful situation - and rented it for a family holiday - my two daughters and their families. The standard of maintenance was poor, but we had a good time. However, after leaving, we were accused of soiling one of the mattresses, which we absolutely did not do - it was already soiled, and had dried, and was only revealed when my daughter stripped the bed at the very end of the holiday, so she omitted to mention it in order to save my feelings. My credit card has been debited €800 to pay for a new mattress, and despite the best efforts of my son-in-law to sort it out, it seems that the word of the cleaners has been believed against ours. This has, of course, completely ruined what was already a very expensive holiday.

Grandioses Haus

Wir haben hier eine wunderbare Zeit verbracht!Die Lage und das Grundstück sind supertoll. Das Haus, auch bei typisch bretonischem Wetter, ist groß genug für 12 Personen und fast ein kleines Museum.Die Küche mit Tisch und viel Platz lädt zum selbst kochen geradezu ein, dafür ist auch alles vorhanden.Durch das Tor im Garten direkt zum Meer, geht es bei Flut zum Schwimmen und bei Ebbe zu schönen Spaziergängen, die auch unser Hund sehr genossen hat.

Très bonnes vacances en famille et amis dans cette vaste et belle maison avec toutefois deux bémols : un problème d’eau qui n’a pu être résolu qu’en milieu de deuxième semaine et de ménage à l’arrivée. Nous avons sûrement joué de malchance car le gérant et le propriétaire ont fait tout leur possible pour résoudre ces dysfonctionnements .

Nicht zu viel versprochen - einfach traumhaft!

Wir buchten das Anwesen für einen großen Familienurlaub mit 11 Erwachsenen, drei kleinen Kindern und einem Hund. Schon bei der Ankunft waren wir erschlagen von den Dimensionen des Hauses - hier war genug Platz für alle. In der Beschreibung wurde nicht zu viel versprochen. Auf dem riesigen Grundstück konnte man die Kinder spielen und den Hund rennen lassen. Im Haus war alles sauber und gepflegt. Die sehr geräumige Küche ist ausgestattet, wie eine Küche eben ausgestattet sein soll. Der Blick auf das Meer und den Leuchtturm ist fantastisch - viele Abende saßen wir einfach auf der Terrasse und genossen den schönen Blick. Der direkte Zugang zum Meer durch den Garten (nur durch ein Tor und einen kleinen Wanderweg getrennt) wurde von uns häufig zum "Steineschmeißen" mit den Kleinen genutzt. Sonnenbaden ist auf dieser Seite nicht angesagt, da der "Strand" hier aus größeren und kleineren Steinen besteht. Zum Sonnenbaden gibt es direkt auf der anderen Seite den Strand von Kervenni, keine 2 Minuten Fußweg entfernt. Je nach Gezeitenstand kann man hier schöne Strandstunden verbringen und abends herrliche Sonnenuntergänge über dem Meer (bei entsprechendem Wasserstand) beobachten. In der näheren Umgebung (mit dem Auto) finden sich zahlreiche feine, weiße Sandstrände mit türkis- und dunkelblauem Wasser. Die Aussage eines Reisemitglieds, so hätte sie sich den Strand und das Meer in der Dominikanischen Republik vorgestellt, sagt alles dazu. Wir können dieses Haus nur wärmstens weiterempfehlen. Wir waren alle mehr als zufrieden mit dem, was dort geboten wurde. Die Betreuung vor Ort war sehr nett und kümmerte sich schnell um unsere Anliegen. Vielen Dank für diesen schönen Urlaub!

Une maison superbe au bord de l'eau

La maison est très confortable et très bien équipée. Les chambres sont agréables à part une qui est un peu exigue sans table de chevet et sans lampe de chevet. Les autres sont très confortables et les lits de qualité. La maison est située au bord du sentier de douanier et elle a un grand terrain joliment aménagé. Elle est à 5mn à pieds de commerces notamment d'un dépôt de pain et d'un ostréiculteur. Elle dispose de grandes terrasses qui doivent être très agréables lorsque le temps le permet. Nous avons passé un magnifique séjour avec de grandes ballades à pieds au départ de la maison. J'ajoute que le gestionnaire est sympathique et très réactif aux petits problèmes qui peuvent surgir. Je la recommande vivement pour de grandes familles où des groupes d'amis.

Très belle maison, très bien placée et très agréable quand on est nombreux!

Nous avons séjourné dans cette belle et spacieuse maison une semaine début octobre. Nous avons eu la chance d´avoir un temps superbe. Nous avons ainsi pu profiter des trois terrasses en tournant selon la position du soleil! Le jardin, plutôt le parc, est très vaste et très beau et ouvre directement sur la mer. Dommage cependant qu´il ne donne pas directement sur la plage, cela aurait été encore plus parfait! Mais le sentier du littoral qui longe le grillage invite à de belles promenades. Nous étions 8 personnes à loger dans la maison avec un jeune chien. La répartition des pièces, les trois salles de bains, les nombreux WCs et les lavabos dans deux chambres assurent un confort très agréable quand on est nombreux. De plus, l´entrée, la cuisine et la salle de séjour, style "château", offrent des espaces où tout le monde trouve sa place sans gêner les autres. Monsieur Weber est très sympathique, accueillant et arrangeant. Vous pouvez lui parler au choix, en francais ou en allemand!

Wir (11 Erwachsene, 1 Kind, 2 Hunde) haben den zweiwöchigen Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Besonders hervorzuheben sind: - die einmalige Lage des Hauses - das große, gepflegte Grundstück - ein typisch bretonisches Herrenhaus mit Stil und hochwertiger Ausstattung - ausgezeichnete Betreunung vor Ort - auch zu ungewöhnlichen Zeiten - phantastische Sicht auf die Ile de Vierge sehr zu empfehlen!!

Tolles Haus mit viel Platz und einer herrlichen Lage

Das Haus liegt inmitten von einem großen Garten mit vielen Blumen, Sträuchern und Bäumen. Es gibt hinter dem Haus eine große Terrasse und vor dem Haus eine etwas kleinere. So kann man, wenn den das bretonische Wetter das zulässt, von morgens bis abends in der Sonne sitzen. Das Gartenmobiliar ist zwar teilweise schon etwas betagt, aber gut Sitzen tut man dennoch. Die Tische könnten etwas standfester sein und passen auch nicht wirklich zum sonst etwas edler anmutenden Haus. Die Aussicht auf das Meer (das Haus ist nur durch einen Zaun und ein paar kleinere Dünen und Felsen vom Wasser (bei Flut) getrennt) und den Leuchtturm ist atemberaubend.. Der Zaun hat aber jedenfalls die besten Zeiten hinter sich und sollte dringend erneuert werden. Es führt ein kleiner Weg am Grundstück entlang der zu einem Wanderweg gehört. Durch den teilweise nicht mehr vorhandenen Zaun kann es schon mal sein, dass sich ein Wanderer in der Richtung irrt. Aber das hat nicht wirklich gestört und ist eher auf der Seite "nette Anekdote" zu verbuchen. In etwa 5 Minuten vom Haus entfernt direkt am Meer befinden sich mehrere Gelegenheiten um etwas zu essen oder auch nur etwas zu trinken. Hier ist für jeden etwas dabei. Von der typischen Crêperie über ein Auster-Restaurant bis hin zu einem besseren Restaurant mit der Möglichkeit von bis zu 7 Gängen! (aber auch etwas teurer) wird wohl jeder etwas finden. Bei allen gilt aber: unbedignt reservieren! Das Haus bietet viel Platz und so gut wie jedes Zimmer hat ein eigenes Bad, so dass es auch wenn man mit mehr Leuten oder Kindern unterwegs ist nicht zum "Stau" kommt. Die Betten und Matratzen sind recht neu, die Maße dabei aber typisch französisch. Queensize eben. Ab 1.80m wird es zu zweit eng... Die Küche ist geräumig und im großen und ganzen auch recht gut ausgestattet. Manche Gläser jedoch (vor allem die Rotweingläser) müssten mal erneuert werden und haben ihre besten Zeiten hinter sich... Das Wohnzimmer ist geräumig und gemütlich mit einem beeindruckenden Kamin und einer super Aussicht auf das Meer und den Leuchtturm. Die Sauberkeit ist im Allgemeinen als gut einzustufen. Mit einer Ausnahme. Der Keller passt so gar nicht zu dem Rest des Hauses. Ist oben alles geschmackvoll und sauber, so ist der Keller das genaue Gegenteil und sollte dringend mal entrümpelt und gesäubert werden. Das soll aber nicht schmälern, dass es ein tolles Haus mir einer tollen ruhigen! Lage ist und man hier einen herrlich erholsamen Urlaub verbringen kann.

Beautiful looking house with fantastic views of the sea and famous lighthouse

Booked this house for its location and garden. The house was big enough for my family (3 couples and 3 singles) and garden big enough for my dogs with walks right from the back door. It has lovely terraces so you can follow the sun around with large tables for alfresco dining. Although the house had 3 en-suites it would be good to have a separate shower room for the other 2 rooms and curtains for the baths/showers would be a good idea. Also full length mirrors in master and second large bed would be nice. The house has plenty of room with lovely views from the sitting area of the garden, sea and lighthouse. Also plenty of room if you want to have a bit of space or quiet time! The beds are very comfortable with nice bed linen and plenty of towels. We didn't explore Lilia apart from going for a beer in the Bar which is walking distance, so can't really comment on that but road links are good for exploring the area with large supermarkets just a few miles away. Overall I loved the house and enjoyed its quirkiness and charm and I am very much looking forward to my return trip in September. The Manager, Hans is very helpful and charming and close by if you have any problems or need advice on activities, vets or restaurants.

Une maison splendide et idéalement située

Nous étions un groupe de 11 amis à passer une semaine très agréable dans cette splendide maison. Elle est bien équipée et idéalement située pour les promenades sur le sentier côtier ainsi que pour les promenades à vélo (vélos à louer à l'Office de Tourisme de Plouguerneau) Un inconvenient assez important, cependant, est le fait que les 3 salles de bains sont "privées", ce qui signifiait que les personnes dans les 3 chambres sans salle de bains ont dû s'arranger pour y avoir accès. Il n'y a pas de salle de bains accessible sans passer par l'une des chambres. Restaurants à recommender: A la Maison (Plouguerneau), la Crêperie (Lilia) et le Carré (Saint Michel), tous très divers, mais fort accueillants.

Fabulous location and good house - quirky!

Fabulous location and amazing views . The house was good overall with quirky furnishings and decor. Shame that the en suites did not all have proper showers and no separate bathroom for those without en suites. No kettle - but that's not unusual in France. We were rather shocked to be charged 50 Euro for each of our 2 dogs especially as the house is not cheap and is advertised as dog friendly. However we enjoyed our stay with various family members- a good place for a get together. It was great having the beach at the end of the garden and a good restaurant in walking distance.

De vraies vacances en famille !

Regroupement de la famille sur 4 générations : 8 adultes et une enfant. De la place pour tous, sans se gêner, pour profiter au mieux de la mer, de la plage et de la vue sur le phare de l'ile Vierge. Chacun y a trouvé sa place, son confort et son coin tranquille pour lire, jouer, pêcher ou encore dessiner dans le vaste jardin qui surplombe la mer. La maison est superbe tout autant extérieurement qu'intérieurement. Grande cuisine, spacieuse salle à manger-salon. Bel équipement, très bonne literie... Que du bonheur !

Some years ago we "stranded"at the amazing Finistere and after a short time we decided to stay here.
Next to our own holidayhomes our agency "villas vacances" looks after other holidayhomes from other owners in the surroundings.
This we do also for this wonderful manor house.
We have the administration of this object since 2016 and we love it to have it in our portfolio.

Why they chose this property

When the owner of the manor house asked us to absorb his house we have been very happy and since than we are in love with this property.
The house is realy something special and very impressive.
Built from old granite stones of old "Manoirs" with an six food high chimney the house is realy unique.
Even the natives are impressed.

All in this house has a little bit of patina.
