This place is incredible! It was perfect for an annual fly fishing trip with friends. The lodge is clean, comfortable and plenty of space for a group of five. The views are incredible and it was great to have a fire pit to reminisce on each day of fishing. This was our groups 25th annual trip, definitely one of the best!

This property is has everything you need. The location is great, the house is amazing, the serenity is almost unreal. This could be a really long review of how nice the place is but I'm going to leave it short and sweet...perfect.

Good location to ride the Alpine Loop
The check in started out a little rocky. The house number I was provided for the property does not match the house number on the entry gate so we passed it twice. It’s no easy feat to turn around 3 trucks pulling 3 trailered sxs on the road by this property. We finally figured out this was the house by comparing the picture of the outside to the house on Vrbo to the houses around it. It took about 30 minutes of confusion. The house is also advertised as having air conditioning but it does not. That was a big selling point to me since it was July and warm. Also the wifi information provided was incorrect. Our phones were on SOS so I called the property manager on the houses land line and asked for them to call back on that line to let us know how to use the Wi-Fi. I never received a call back. We found the owners phone number and thankfully he answered and told us the Wi-Fi was starlink and not the one we were provided. There is a Bose sound system and speakers in the living area but we never were able to get it to work. The house is well appointed and the kitchen is well stocked for cooking. The outside is well kept and the river behind it is beautiful. We saw a number of various wildlife walk through the property in the afternoon. The road in this area is extremely dusty so be prepared with eye and nose protection when riding.

Gorgeous views, lovely sounds of the river and fresh air. Cabin and grounds were perfect. What a find in Lake City! A bit of a drive to town but close to some good hiking trails and right on the alpine loop.

What makes this property unique
Alpine Loop - Backcountry Byway Lake City - Silverton - Ouray Whether you start from Lake City, Ouray or Silverton, gravel roads lead you into the high alpine meadows and forests. As your elevation increases, so does your need for a 4-wheel drive, high clearance vehicle. This byway takes you into the Backcountry of Colorado’s mining past, up above the timberline into the tundra, and over two high elevation passes. Originally built as toll roads for the stages and freighters of the late 1800s, these roads are now your access into Colorado’s frontier history. The Alpine Loop covers 65 miles of roads between the towns of Lake City, Ouray and Silverton. Depending on winter snows, the loop opens in late May to early June and closes in late October. Historic interest includes ghost towns, abandoned mining camps, and cabins that were built from the mid- 1870s through the early 1900s. The true star of this show is NATURE in all her glory: waterfalls, rare wildlife, spectacular fields of wildflowers, and geologic features such as jagged volcanic peaks, glacier-carved cirques, and canyons.
