Hometown Folks is located in very desirable Riverside/East Windsor, Main intersection is Lauzon Road and Wyandotte Street East, Just behind Riverside East Plaza and in front of St. John Vianney Catholic Elementary School. Drive along the riverside east and go on to old Tecumseh, Marina, Beach, Golf, are all along the riverside road. Then have dinner at Sandbar waterfront Grill or Lilly kezzilly’s enjoying food and beautiful view…Lots of fun things to do.

Very cozy.

Very homey feeling to the whole property. Location is awesome, close enough to the downtown fun without burning too much gas, but far enough to enjoy a quiet setting. The interior aesthetic gives it a warm vibe with personal touch you won’t get from hotel rooms of any kind. On top of all it is reasonably priced which is fantastic in the world of today. 100% would stay here again!

Big space, good for a family of adults who all need space. However it seemed very cluttered and dusty. There were cobwebs in the corners of doorways and on some furniture. Host was very responsive to a few issues during the stay however there were rugs and floor mats all over that are tripping hazards.

Cleanliness needs work

The place was well situated to our needs (family event). There were 4 in our party. The place was large, well appointed. A large school yard faced the back deck making for a peaceful greenspace (maybe less peaceful at recess time). The decorations were quirky, to say the least. Curtains were hung in the oddest places. Lots of throw rugs, but all were covered with plastic mats, which present a tripping hazard. The biggest problem was the kitchen, which was not clean. Every horizontal surface was dusty and sticky. The dishes in the cupboards, and the cupboard liners were sticky. We had to run all of the dishes we planned to use through the dishwasher, and never put them back in the cupboard (we left all the dishes we used clean when we checked out, and post-it notes on all the problem areas The bathroom shower and tiles could use some bleach. The smoke alarm was not installed on the hallway ceiling, but was instead lying on the fridge in the kitchen, presumably not functioning. The manager took our feedback on cleanliness, thanked us for it and said they would try to do better. They gave us a small credit for our troubles.

This is a two-story home located behind a grade school. The home is in need of a professional deep cleaning, replacement of some blinds, and replacement of the cracked and broken steps leading to the second floor. The glass cabinet had a broken glass pane. I took lots of pictures. I expected the Host to meet us at check in. I texted Terry Moore, because that is who is listed as the host, asking if he was going to be there at the check in time of 3pm. I received a reply from Annie welcoming us to the house. The code given was correct and worked without issue. The home, however, was filthy. There was feces dried and caked on the bathtub, the shower curtains were dirty, there was dried toothpaste spray on the bathroom mirror and picture next to the bathroom sink, there was a rotten onion half in a basket in the kitchen, there was dust and cobwebs all over the house, and one of the upstairs bedroom stank of stale cigarette smoke. We also tried to use the washer, and it was not draining or cleaning the clothes. I waited and texted Annie the next morning about the issues and she sent a very rude reply stating that it was too early for me to send her a text. She did come to the house, but I had already cleaned the bathrooms and put the comforter and blankets from the cigarette bedroom outside to air out. She said it took her 2 days to clean the house and acknowledged knowing the washer was broken before we arrived. But she did not get it fixed or tell us before our arrival.
