Barefoot Bungalow is a newly renovated second-floor condo at El Cortez. You will love the open floor plan and spacious living room and bedrooms with ocean-life décor carried throughout. Cable and Wi-Fi are available in the condo with a 50” TV in the living room and 32” in each bedroom, all of which are Amazon Fire TVs ready for you to log in with your account to your favorite streaming apps. Gather everyone in the living room to watch a movie on the large wall-mounted TV while lounging on the couch (which doubles as a sleeper sofa with a memory foam mattress) or chairs. The kitchen is equipped with everything needed to prepare meals such as spacious countertops, stainless steel appliances, a drip coffee maker, dishes, basic pots, pans and utensils. Enjoy meals at the dining table with seating for four and additional seating for two at the breakfast bar. Take your coffee out to the balcony to sip in the ocean breeze. The master bedroom (BR1) consists of a power-adjustable King bed, nightstands, dresser, closet, desk, and futon, a perfect sleeping spot for a child. The ensuite bathroom holds a vanity, tub/shower unit, and stackable washer/dryer for your use during your stay. The guest bedroom (BR2) is made up of a Queen bed, nightstands, chest, and TV. The bathroom contains a vanity and shower. Use the golf cart-accessible boardwalk to spend a day at the beach. Borrow the beach wagon from the unit if you'd like. Cool off in the shared pool or sit under the covered area with shared charcoal grills for cooking up the day's catch. Other amenities at Barefoot Bungalow include: 3+ outlet power strips by each side of both beds, a hairdryer, BBQ utensils, solar stair lights, games, books, and toys. El Cortez is just five minutes from Port Aransas offering a variety of restaurants, shops, nightlife, and fishing charters.

A lovely condo! Clean with comfy beds and a short walk to the beach. FYI: Golf carts are allowed on the boardwalk that goes down to the beach. However, carts are not allowed on the streets/sidewalks this far south. We will definitely stay here again!

Check in/out easy, directions were clear. Good communication about property. Pictures accurate. The only reason I say 4 stars is because the carpet was not vacuumed or clean. It felt dirty on my feet and had stains. Everything else was clean.

Perfect Little Getaway

Our stay at this particular property was absolutely perfect. It is a super cute and tidy place and everything we needed was pretty much at our disposal. The short walk to the beach added a nice touch to it as well. My family and I would definitely come back.

Wonderful weekend getaway!

This property was very clean and well stocked. I highly recommend booking this location as it's just a short walk down to the beach. It's in a great location and very well kept! If you're following your Google maps, be on the lookout for a small white wooden sign for the entrance, it's easy to miss!

Came for Sandfest

We came for Sandfest weekend and had a really good time. Condo is really decorated cute. Beds are comfy. Bedrooms are really big and bathrooms are super nice. Good location, we always like staying at the El Cortez - the boardwalk to the beach is nice!

Cute and Cozy

Updated decor and appliances. We had everything we needed to relax and enjoy the beach. Recommend renting a golf cart to get back and forth to the beach.

great location, not too far from the beach, lots of room on the beach. condo was clean and comfy. cooked several meals for the family and everything worked fine. we will definitely be back.

Important Check-in Information • The day before your arrival we will be texting you the address and location of the property. • On the day of check-in, starting around 9AM we will be texting you check-in instructions and property info. • We will ask that you email us a picture of your ID. This is to verify we are sending the info to the reservation holder and to verify you are 25 or older. • You can also upload your ID to the Happy Stays App • Once received, we will then text you your door code around check-in time (4PM) and or provide you the keys to your property. If your property is ready sooner than 4PM we will let you know. • Most of our properties are keyless entry. However, we do have a few that require a key to gain access. • Keys are picked up at our office located at 107 Cut Off Rd, Port Aransas, TX 78373. • If you have rented a golf cart or your property comes with one, you will need to stop by our office to fill out the golf cart form.

Would stay over and over

In my opinion, this is the most perfectly placed property in the area. It is a straight shot to the beach. The pictures were accurate and the rooms were larger than expected. Every window had an amazing view. The pantry and kitchen area were ideal. Having 2 bathrooms was very convenient. I will be searching for this property at the very next opportunity! Management was easy to communicate with and I really appreciate that. Perfect for me, husband, and our 2 young kids.

Alright Stay

Overall our stay was okay. The place is nice and welcoming, but there were a few issues. #1 as soon as I booked, I inquired about the golf carts in a message and NEVER got a response. I finally messaged again 2 months later and called (a week or so before our stay) and the response was that “we’ve been sold out for about 6 wks”. Now had I gotten a response initially we probably could have gotten the cart, so that was disappointing. The communication is definitely lacking. #2 The light in the living room would not come on, and I called right upon checkin to let them know. They told me there was a work order already put in and someone would be by to fix it. Needless to say we didn’t have a light in the living room our entire stay because no one ever showed up smh. #3 The bugs were BAD! We used the vacuum to suck up all the bugs that were sitting on the walls and in the corners of the home. #4 The name “Barefoot Bungalow” is very interesting as we could not walk barefoot in this place because the carpet and even the rug in the living room was filled with little prickly things that we all kept stepping on and our feet were in pain that we had to wear our shoes to avoid them. #5 On our last day, maintenance banged and barged in while we were asleep. They stated “They told us everyone was out” even though I had not even checked out through the app. All in all the place is nice, but I will definitely shop around next time for something better because my experience was very subpar.

For quicker assistance, we recommend contacting us directly, rather than through third-party booking sites. Also, due to high demand, we do not accept reservations for golf carts during the peak season. We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the non-functional light. According to our records, our maintenance team visited around check-out time. However, we understand that this was too late to resolve your issue. The island's natural environment can sometimes lead to an increase in bugs. The properties are sprayed regularly. We apologize for the discomfort caused by the prickly elements in the carpet and rug. Sticker burs love the island sand and can be a nuisance. Please accept our sincerest apologies once again. We would love the opportunity to make it up to you during a future stay.
