Aneka was a wonderful host - kind and welcoming. She shared good information about the area and places to eat. Jedediah Smith State Park is very close as well as the beach.
We had a wonderful, cozy stay! Very well appointed, clean and neat space and comfortable bed. I appreciated the proximity to the Redwood Forest and the beach. The host, Aneka, is kind and gave wonderful recommendations for the area. We will stay here again and highly recommend!
Amazing location and property! So close to beaches and the parks plus a terrific place to have our dog with us- we felt very welcome. The apartment is cozy and nicely decorated with everything you might need. We will stay here every time we’re in Crescent City if it’s available!
Great stay! A lovely little spot close to the redwoods and the coast. Aneka is a great host and shared a couple ideas of things to do. We loved the chickens, ducks, and cats too.
Fully equipped kitchen with coffee and creamer in the morning. There were two of us staying there and we had plenty of room to spread out and make ourselves at home. Farm fresh eggs were amazing, we personally didn’t have to purchase anything extra for breakfast! We were given very detailed instructions for getting to the town, beach, and Jedediah Smith Redwood State Park. Already miss it and would 100% stay again.FYI: When arriving you must text the host to open the gate, but then have a remote for the rest of your trip. The gate makes it feel very private!
It was exactly as described and right up our alley. Quaint loft apartment above a barn. Surrounded by nature. Abel’s was absolutely welcoming, friendly, and helpful. Just the perfect host. If you are looking for sleek and modern this is not the place for you but if you like hidden, cozy, country experiences this is it. I could have spent my whole trip snuggled in the bed with a coffee and a good book listening to the roosters crow.
Cute little apartment, in a safe lovely neighborhood. I stay in Crescent City regularly for business and family trips, but this was a solo trip without my kids. I dislike the hotels in town so checked out this place. It was indeed a little Hideout. Cute cabin decor, kitchenette, living room where I could have a glass of wine with my family in town. The bedroom was large with a very comfortable bed. The grounds were wonderfully country with the requisite chickens, ducks and cat. Communications with Aneka, the owner, were great. Would recommend!

This property has a lot of charm, in a quiet area just a short drive from the Redwood Giants. The host, Aneka is gracious and charming. I am letting all my family and friends who might potentially go there know about this beautiful, simple, quiet getaway.
Close to the Redwoods. Host gave us really great information about how to access the parks. Pet friendly - she even had a couple of really wonderful bones for our dog. Loved having chickens and ducks in the yard
We arrived later than expected and our host, Aneka, was very gracious and helpful with restaurant recommendations. The place was comfortable with many amenities. The sound of the ducks and chickens added a homey atmosphere.
I absolutely loved staying here! Aneka is gracious and a tremendous hostess. Even had fresh eggs in the fridge, and I could have gotten more if I needed. Chickens and ducks in the yard too. Such a beautiful place. I just wish the weather had been better, but that’s just the way it is up here. I recommend this small place to anyone or couples traveling through. I’d love to come back someday!
Very clean home and nicely decorated. Fully stocked kitchen (pot/pans, spices, condiments including butter). Fully stocked bathroom with shampoo, conditioner, kitten, cotton swabs, cotton balls, hair dryer. The bed was so comfortable….the best nights of sleep I gotten in sucked a long time. All we had to do was bring our clothes and some food and we were set!! I could tell the host was very conscientious and proud to share her home. Loved it there and would stay again. Such a wonderful host
Hard time finding the place. No address or phone number on website or VRBO. Had to yell over fence to get in on arrival. However the proprietor was lovely and very helpful. We enjoyed our conversations with her very much.
Adorable little hideout on a small homey property with chickens. Super close to Jedediah State Park and Redwoods areas. The host had all the local recommendations and was so welcoming!
Pros: Host was friendly, location was nice, and the exterior was cute with flowers in the window boxes and chickens in the yard. It was nice to have a fridge and the bed was really comfortable. Cons: Unfortunately, it smelled bad and was not as clean as you’d expect. The oven didn’t work properly and burned our food.
