If you love the outdoors and want to be near areas that offer lots of outdoor activities, we are just 10 minutes from Historic Woodstock with the Billings Farm National Park and Suicide Six ski area. South Woodstock is the home of the Green Mountain Horse Association. A 30 minutes drive to the Okemo ski area in Ludlow and 10 minutes to the Killington skyship. All three of these towns offer many fun things to do and many great restaurants. There are excellent hiking, biking, kayaking, and swimming places to visit. We are also close to two great microbreweries, Long Trail just a couple of miles up the road and Harpoon in Windsor about 25 minutes from the house.

Ellen and Curtis are great hosts! My son and I stayed 2 nights while skiing at Killington. 13 minutes from the Gondola. Convenient location for gas, a market, and two restaurants. The property itself is very nice. We enjoyed the pellet stove after a long day on the slopes. It is located on a dirt road. As they mention in the listing, snow tires would be required, particularly if it is snowing. I accessed the property with a 2 wheel drive pickup, all season tires, no problem, but it did not snow while we were there. The place itself is very cozy and has everything you would want!
Thanks Ellen and Curtis. You guys have an amazing place. Area is surrounded by peace and silence. Close to all attractions and main roads. Hosts are superb. Definitely will come back soon.
We had a wonderful time staying here. The property had everything we needed for our short stay. The hosts were so kind and sweet. Very responsive with questions! They also were so open with our dog having fun and running around their property (which was a plus). We hope to be back!
We had a wonderful stay in Nana's House. It had a pellet stove that kept the whole apartment warm and cozy. It was very clean with plenty of plush towels. Ellen, the owner was very responsive, helpful, and communicative. I would definitely stay here again.
This was a really lovely spacious apartment in Vermont! Super close to Long Trail Brewery and Woodstock for outings. The hosts were responsive and so nice!
The home is spacious and well equipped, warm and welcoming.
Very comfortable mattress and linens, especially appreciated the washer/dryer and ironing area available for use.
Nana’s house has a relaxing atmosphere which made it a perfect getaway.
We had a wonderful stay and felt truly welcomed by lovely hosts
Thank-you!
Our stay at Nana’s house couldn’t have been more perfect. The accommodations were comfortable and very spacious! Ellen and Curtis could have been friendlier. Would definitely stay again and would highly recommend!
Ellen was a terrific host and her home was well equiped with everything we could need. Loved the multiple port charging station and the first aid kit. I went home and purchased them for our rental unit.
We loved staying here! It was like staying at your own home, there was everything needed and more. Extremely friendly hosts from check in to check out. When returning to the area we will be planning our trip around the availability of this place!
Nana's Apartment is a super cozy and charming space! You can tell that Ellen and Curtis offer this space as a passion project of theirs because it really permeates every moment of your stay, from the ease of check in, the helpful tips of places to check out, the super comfy couch and bed, to the little note that we received and the delicious coffee that we had each morning.
The location is amazing being close to both Killington and Okemo for skiing, many places to visit for excursions, and great restaurants within driving distance, we really can't recommend staying here enough!
Plus, learning to fill the pellet stove was really simple and honestly kind of fun!
Very welcome! Ellen and Curtis had birthday card and cupcakes for my father’s birthday! Very nice place and very clean. Thank you!

We had a very good stay. The house and property were well kept, clean, and cozy. The mountainside forest property was a wonderfully peaceful setting. The kitchen was full stocked equipment wise for cooking and the pellet stove was very easy to operate.
My only two minor complaints were that a hot tub was listed in the VRBO add, however there was no hot tub. We specifically searched for properties with that so it was a bit disappointing. Second, I texted the owner a couple of times with questions during our stay but they were not returned. This might be from a connectivity issue as prior reviews said they were very responsive, so perhaps our experience was an outlier. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely consider coming again. Our Frenchie loved it too!
Ellen provided information on lots of things to do in the area. The house was nice and spacious and the pellet stove was perfect for the start of winter.
Ellen was very welcoming and accommodating! Nana’s house is very cozy with plenty of room. Ellen and Curtis we’re available to help with the pellet stove and to give good suggestions for local things to do and see. Great place! I would stay again.
What a perfectly cozy retreat for our New England vacation! We were greeted with a welcome card, pumpkin bread and breakfast drinks. Ellen is the sweetest person, went out of her way to share her favorite local restaurants with us and even called and made a reservation for us! We feel like we made a new friend. She and her husband invited us to join their evening bonfire which we were sad to have missed. Darling home, tons of space if you’re traveling with more than a few people, comfy beds, lovely quiet area, truly a wonderful home away from home. We can’t wait to come back!!
This is our second time staying here and we enjoyed the location, communication, and space. The bread from the Woodstock farmers market was perfect, too.
Would highly recommend if you need a spot to sleep while visiting the area.
Ellen and Curtis are exceptional hosts. They made our weekend stay very enjoyable. With all the personal touches and inclusion in some family events such as a fire pit including S'mores was very welcoming.
We highly recommend this spot, its in a beautiful area and very relaxing and restful.
Thank you Ellen and Curtis for wonderful weekend.
Nana's house was the best place for us to spend a snowy weekend. Directions were clear, house is tidy and literally has everything you might need. We arrived just before a snowstorm, so had packed lots of food. We prepared lovely meals, complete with cookies. The kitchen was well-appointed and there were very generous and thoughtful extras to make us feel welcomed - breakfast bread, orange juice, and a welcome note. Three bedrooms and two bathrooms were more than we needed, but nice to have. The pellet stove MADE OUR VISIT! So nice to have the ambient heat, especially during a winter storm. You really must have all-wheel-drive, (as stated in the property details), as the road to Nana's is no joke, for safety. Ellen and Curtis are wonderful hosts, kept in touch with us for any questions, and truly want guests to feel at home. We brought couch covers for our doggo, Harper, to keep her hair to ourselves. Killington and Okemo are within close range. Thanks, Ellen and Curtis, for a lovely get-away weekend!
My only complaint is it was advertised as a rate per night for three bedrooms that sleeps six . They don’t mention in ad that’s only for two people. If you add additional guests it’s an additional cost. We booked 5 people for 3 days. It was double the advertised price. It was not worth what we paid.
