We enforce a strict no party policy. VRBO will be contacted immediately upon any noise violations, disruptive gatherings, or arrival of unauthorized guests.

Looking to make your stay as stress-free as possible? For an additional fee, we can provide the following services:

1. Pre-stock the refrigerator for you prior to your arrival, or do grocery shopping for you during your stay
2. Pick up dinner for you within 20 miles from the house, including South Haven and stops at more than one restaurant
3. Additional house cleanings, either full or partial, during your stay.

Several family members have strong to severe animal allergies. For this reason, we cannot allow any pets into our home.

The dock, watercrafts, and outdoor furniture are seasonal, and generally not available mid-fall until Memorial Day. The pool will be open from Memorial Day into October, weather permitting.

Incredible family vacation!

Home and property are incredible. My kids and grandkids all had a great time. There is plenty to do and we brought a boat and jet skis. The house is very roomy, and all bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms. The grand kids had a great time in the bunk house, with another full bath. The hostess has thought about everything to accommodate large groups, 2 dishwashers, 2 washers, 2 dryers, plenty of seating inside, outside, and at the pool.

Wonderful property in a beautiful location

Property had everything we could ask for and more. Plenty of beds for our multi-generational group of 12 (ages 16-82). Warm and inviting property with lots to do and near the Kal Haven trail which was a plus for our group. Hope to return!

Amazing lakehouse experience!

My extended family stayed here for a week in July for family vacation and it was absolutely fantastic. We had 5 kids ages 4-8 and 8 adults. The kids were so entertained- huge yard, pickleball, basketball, volleyball, sandy beach with gradual entry into the lake, great pool, games, etc. They have thought of everything and have everything you need. The owner Elaine was very kind and available for all our questions. The huge kitchen has everything you need to feed a big family. 10/10 recommend!

Family Get Together

This is the first I’ve been able to vacation with my sister and brother and our families. The location was perfect. We enjoyed both Saddle Lake and Lake Michigan. The house is large, beautiful, and well equipped. We had several couples and they loved each having a suite with private bath. With large tables both inside and outside, it was fun all eating together. We all had a chance to play pickle ball and loved it!

Awesome

This place is great. Perfectly setup for a large group. We stayed here with my extended family and everyone had plenty of room. The house is very thoughtfully equipped. A fully equipped kitchen, yard games, boats, books, it’s all here. Lots to do in the house and yard and lake, but only 15 min drive (or hour bike ride on the nearby kal haven trail :) ) into south haven for more.

Beautiful large house & property

We had a fantastic stay at this VRBO house! One of the standout features was the abundance of bathrooms, which made getting ready a breeze for our group of ladies. The owner was responsive and attentive to the issues we encountered, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable stay. The multiple seating options on the deck and around the fire pit were perfect for socializing and enjoying the beautiful surroundings. Additionally, having a full kitchen was convenient for preparing meals together. Overall, we had a wonderful time and would highly recommend this property to others!

This lovely modern farmhouse on Saddle Lake surpassed our expectations in every way. Our adult kids with toddlers of their own gave it a 10/10. The beach area in particular was perfect for the little ones to play in the sandy shallow water.We loved the expanse of mowed lawn for blowing off kid steam and the new pool was perfect for cooling off.Shady pickle ball court was lots of fun.The spacious kitchen had everything we needed for meal prep and 2 dishwashers and double washer and dryers in laundry room were a godsend. Beds comfortable and all bathrooms fresh and new.30 min to Saugatuck15 min to Meijer Grocery store/Walmart in South HavenKal Haven trail is walking distance. Blueberry/Peach self picking nearby. Local Pizzeria recommended was tasty. We opted to not rent a pontoon boat and didn’t miss it at all. This place was a real gem for families who enjoy being together. We were 8 adults with 5 kids under 4 years old. Abundant space for all.

Great House!

This house was such a great house! We comfortably slept a group of 16. The kitchen was amazing equipped with 2 dishwashers which was key with the amount of dishes we used in a daily basis. I would highly recommend with large groups. Elaine was extremely easy to work with and very responsive to questions. She has truly thought of everything! We hope to be back in the future!

Amazing Stay!

I was looking for a larger home to celebrate my dad turning 60. The listing doesn’t do the home justice. It was absolutely beautiful. The host, Elaine, is amazing and graciously answered all of my never ending questions. The home is so fully stocked with everything you could possibly need and is so helpfully labeled as well. Everyone mentioned how extremely comfortable the beds are and how clean the home is. My family has even mentioned wanting to book the home for a summer getaway! I will absolutely be back to stay again! Thank you, Elaine, for such a wonderful experience!

Beautiful home perfect for our large family

We really loved our stay at Elaine's home. She was a gracious and generous host. She was quick to respond whenever I had a question or request. We were celebrating a milestone birthday and had our entire family there. Everyone had a comfortable place to sleep. The bathrooms had the amenities you would need, plenty of towels, and great closet space as well as hooks to put all your things! The property is large and the pickleball court was a HUGE hit for our entire family. When we weren't outside, we were in the kitchen which has a large table that accommodated all of us and plenty of seating throughout. We had a wonderful time. Thank you, Elaine!

Incredible home! What’s not to love?!

What an AMAZING property for our family of 15 (ages 4-70+)! We have stayed at many lake homes that “sleep” 15+, but this is the first time we felt like a home was truly equipped for that many people. Two dishwashers is a huge help for a large group, as well as the two washer/dryer sets and two fridges. The kitchen is huge! All 15 of us had plenty of space in the home. We also loved the blackout shades that kept all the kids asleep in the mornings! Everything in the home is beautiful and feels very thoughtful. Someone in our group said it truly felt like a home and not a rental! We absolutely loved the outdoor part of the property. The walk to the lake wasn’t hard at all, and we loved seeing the water through the trees from the back porch. The sandy bottom beach was an absolute hit with our crew. We rented a pontoon and loved skiing, tubing, and kneeboarding on the beautiful lake. The shed had an abundance of things including sand toys for the kids and we used everything we found - even the sailboat! We also enjoyed a family wiffle ball game, tons of pickleball, croquet, basketball, and more. Elaine was responsive, kind, helpful, and thoughtful. We made SO many memories as a family that we will never forget. It’s hard to find a place that EVERYONE in a 15-person group loves. This fit the bill! We can’t recommend this properly enough!

Best equipped & organized lake house/beach house ever!

This was the 6th or 7th time we have rented a beach or lake house for time with our extended family (13-16 people). This was by far the best equipped, most organized house ever. Everything was perfectly clean and well labeled. Instructions were crystal clear. And I can't think of anything we might have wanted that they didn't have! None of us had ever played pickleball before -- what an amazing court! So much indoor and outdoor space -- everyone could find a quiet place to read or work if they wanted to. We never came close to running out of bowls, mugs or silverware. And to have two dishwashers for a large group like that is a stroke of genius! We never had dishes piling up because we never had to wait for a dishwasher to finish running to load up. We could connect to the outdoor speaker instantly. The young adults in the group loved the hot tub. Having the grill directly connected to the gas line is also awesome. My nephew loved the espresso maker and I loved having an electric vehicle charger. We brought our own inner tubes to float in the lake, but we liked having the canoe & kayaks to paddle around. Communication with the owner was outstanding. Overall really 5 stars. Every VRBO owner could take lessons from them.

Awesome Vacation Home!

We enjoyed our stay in this beautiful home for a long weekend at the end of August with 16 family members... young adults and older adults! The home and guest house are luxuriously appointed, spacious, very clean, with lots of bathrooms. We had plenty of room for everyone. We brought 2 kayaks and a small motor boat which we tied up at the private dock. We very much enjoyed all of the provided outdoor activites -- Pickleball, Basketball, Corn Hole, and especially the beautiful hot tub and very spacious fire pit area that was big enough for all of us to gather around at night. We wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy all the other amenities and activities on the property. We have never rented a home with as much kitchen and eating space. It was so nice for us all to sit around the giant kitchen table! And there were plenty of dishes, silverware, serving dishes, pots, pans, baking dishes, etc. for making dinners. It was wonderful having two dishwashers! The yard is so large and the house is set back a ways from the water -- It is a short walk down to the dock and beach area, but was not a big deal. You can see the water from the yard. I highly recommend this property, and can't wait to go back sometime.

Great getaway

Our extended family of 15 had the best stay at this property! The kitchen was large, well appointed, and perfect for a large group. The expansive outdoor space offers about anything you would want. The fire pit was one of the best we have encountered. Large and on a flat surface with plenty of seating. The lake is clear and warm and there were several lake toys the kids really enjoyed. The rooms are surprisingly large and allowed for privacy for the group. The back guest house was nice for the kids and added privacy. Two refrigerators and twin washers and dryers were a big bonus. The bluetooth outside speakers were awesome as well. We highly recommend this rental house. The owner was in constant contact with us, although everything was fairly turnkey. 100% relaxing and enjoyed by all.

Michigan Family Retreats grew out of my own experiences coordinating family vacations and countless searches for the perfect place to gather with the people I love most. I wanted more than a typical vacation rental—I wanted a warm, beautiful home where multiple generations could relax, connect, and truly feel at ease.

My approach to hosting is very hands-on. After once being locked out of a corporate-run rental with no real person to help, I knew I wanted to offer something different. When you stay with Michigan Family Retreats, you’re hosted by a real person who cares about your stay and is available if you need anything. I've personally designed each property with care, balancing my background in fine arts and art history with my practical insights as a mother, and now grandmother.

My goal is simple: to create a stress-free retreat where you can focus on what matters most—being together. I hope you have a wonderful stay!
