Welcome to L'Ensoleillé, a holiday rental for 10 people—ideal for two families—that’s brand-new, faces south with no neighbors directly across, and features a magnificent kitchen equipped with brand-new appliances. You’ll be staying in the Aude region, in the small village of Trassanel—a mecca for caving—just a 30-minute drive from Carcassonne, its train station, and its airport. Six kilometres away is Villeneuve-Minervois, home to shops, a pharmacy, a media library, the Maison de la Truffe d’Occitanie with its museum and shop selling truffle products, and the Caveau Lauran Cabaret, where you can sample a wide selection of wines. Less than an hour’s drive away: the Cité de Carcassonne, the Australian Park in Carcassonne, Minerve, the Canal du Midi for lunches along the waterfront and walks along the towpaths, the Limousis Cave, the Gouffre Géant de Cabrespine, the Cathar Castles, Caunes-Minervois, a charming little town renowned for its abbey, marble quarries, narrow streets, and rock-climbing site. Other popular tourist towns such as Pézenas, Béziers, Narbonne, Mirepoix, and Limoux can be visited in a day. For hikers, there are numerous trails starting right from the cottage, including the GR36 and the Truffle Trail, where you can explore the untamed wilderness of the Montagne Noire. On summer days, enjoy supervised swimming at Lake Pradelles-Cabardès or Laprade (30 min away), at the “Les Bains de Minerve” pool in Peyriac-Minervois (20 min away), or at the Mediterranean Sea, 75 km away. The cottage features, on the ground floor, a fully equipped kitchen opening onto a terrace, a living area with a TV, and a half-bath (the south-facing terrace is the perfect spot to relax or enjoy your meals in complete peace).
