Sea Dog is a beautiful 5 bedroom/5 bathroom luxury Rosemary Beach home located on the South side of Highway 30A in the heart of Rosemary Beach. It is 2.5 blocks to the beach and 1 block from the Barbados Pool. This home features a beautiful courtyard and a gurgling fountain welcoming you and leading you to the main entrance. Three levels provide enough space for families and friends to be together and create wonderful memories. Sea Dog is just a quick walk to Rosemary’s Town Center with local shops and restaurants, and within biking distance to nearby Seacrest and Alys Beach.

Amazing location!

The location of Sea Dog was amazing — one block to the Barbados pool, about 2 blocks to the beach, one block to town. Loved the large porch upstairs off the kitchen—perfect for spending afternoons when there was a brief rain shower. Some areas of the house show some wear and tear (cabinets, pots/pans, stove knobs), but overall met expectations. TVs are not user-friendly. Felt like plenty of room for our group of 10. A great place to stay in Rosemary Beach!

Location of this house was great but that was about it. We have been coming to Rosemary for 10 years and by far the worst condition house we have stayed in. Got notice about an hour before check in that the fridge was out and the management company was super responsive on and had a temporary fridge put in the unit. There communication was very good. Getting to the house it’s not a shock there was a maintenance issue with an appliance. House smelt musty in the downstairs for most of the week we were there. They had some air filters in each room but it was not enough. There were cracks and damage drywall that just seemed to be easily fixable but nothing done. The kitchen cabinets were beat up and damaged to where they need to be replaced all together. Furniture was dated etc. also water pressure barely allowed for flushing of toilets. House is currently for sale so maybe why the damage has not been taken care of but for the pricing of these homes on a weekly basis it’s unacceptable to have it rented in the current condition.

Nice Layout…excellent location!

We had a great time during our visit. The house worked well for us although the furnishings and decor were tired. Just a simple refresh of bedding, linens and some kitchen items including pans are needed. Misty, the property manager was very responsive and easy to contact.

Beach vacay 2020

We had 3 families with 12 people total. The bunk room was perfect for the 6 boys and the adults slept comfortably in the bedrooms. The house was spacious with room for dining and lounging. The porches were great for morning coffee! The house was in a prime location with a short walk to the beach, restaurants, and shops. We enjoyed our stay!

Family vacation with dog friendly property

Enjoyed our 5 night stay at the Salty Dog in Rosemary Beach, FL. This is a 3 story property with the 3 main bedrooms on the ground floor, main living and another bedroom on the 2nd floor and the bunk room (6 beds) on the 3rd floor loft accessed by a spiral staircase on the 2nd floor. All bedrooms have a private bathroom. Close proximity to community pool (no pool at house) and beach. We were looking for a property that would accommodate our grand dog as well as our grandson and this did both. Only concern was the need to close off access to the staircase leading down to the ground floor. Other than that this was a perfectly fine property for our needs.

Great house and location!

The house is exactly as advertised. Very clean, very well designed for a large party and well-equipped. Super location that is convenient to everything! The two master bedrooms have king Tempur-pedic mattresses and are extremely comfortable!.. The only reason I gave it four stars instead of five is, the queen bedrooms have cheap mattresses that squeak. Also, the living room furniture is worn and outdated. The owner needs to step up and invest some money in replacing all of the living room upholstery. Othe than those complaints, the house is fantastic.

Great location, but house needs a lot of maintenance!

The location was a short walk to the beach. We had 11 in our group; 7adults and 4 kids. The house has seen better days. A bench in the front hall had a nail protruding, as molding had come off. There was sand all over the bench as housekeeping had missed it. The main living area needs new slip covers on all the furniture. Small kitchen table was very worn and needs refinishing. The porch swing is nice but dirty. We will look for another place next year!

Disappointing

Dip pool is dark and disappointing. Doors on back porch don’t close. Main level Bedroom is too tiny to maneuver. Needs dish towels. Kitchen cabinets need to be refinished badly. No pantry storage.in the middle of Construction zone. Woke up every morning to hammers and drills.

Thank you for your review. For future and or potential guest we would always like to have the opportunity to address guest concerns instead of responding to a disappointed reviewer. Please note the majority of these concerns could have easily been addressed during the guests stay with a phone call or text. The dipping pool is small, hence the name; however, if I had known you had a concern of some type I could have had the pool service resolve the issue.There is no back porch at the house. The doors at the house do close and the doors do lock. The doors have hurricane locks. You must close the door, lift the handle and then turn the lock. Instructions are on the entry door. Closing the doors properly would have greatly reduced and very likely eliminated any noise from the construction which is a block away from the house. I suppose this is why multiple doors in the house were left open including the entry door on the day of your departure. We provide a minimum of two kitchen towels and if needed more kitchen towels could be provided. As in the majority of the houses in Rosemary Beach there is no pantry in the kitchen but there is space in the large cabinet to the right of the sink which most guest use for food storage. All guest are expected to follow the laws of Walton County and display common courtesy to other guest within the community. Smoking pot and throwing water balloons from the 2nd floor balcony at passing cars and pedestrians are not acceptable practices at this property. Rosemary Beach has a neighborhood security detail and when observed or reported violations of the laws of Walton County are made the Sheriff's Department may be called.

What an amazing trip!!!

Two families comprising 4 adults and 4 children shared this incredible home in the middle of EVERYTHING in Rosemary Beach. We were 2 blocks from the beach, 1 block from 30A, and 1 block from all the best shops and restaurants. The home had 2 masters which was perfect for this trip. The kitchen was huge and provided the best open “hang out” area! We sat on the large wrap around deck as often as we could. The kids 3rd floor room with two sets of bunk beds and other twin beds is a dream come true!!! The only downside was that the dipping pool was broken and not usable. I wish management had informed of this prior to the trip. I emailed him upon arrival and he apologized in a very timely manner. Stuff happens. We will definitely be reaching out again and can’t wait to return to Sea Dog soon!

Wonderful Family Home

We enjoyed our Thanksgiving week stay at Jolly Roger and the Salty Dog carriage house. The location is convenient to the shops and restaurants, steps away from one of the community pools, and only a short walk to the beach walkover. The main kitchen has an over-sized refrigerator, huge gas range, and double ovens, which were wonderful for all the Thanksgiving Day and Iron Bowl preparations. The kitchen is so well-equipped that we did not need anything extra. What a pleasant surprise to have a rocking chair in the living room!!! I was worried about how we were going to get the two littles to sleep without one, and even contacted a few companies to ask if we could rent one. The carriage house was just a few steps across the courtyard, so our family members staying there didn't feel isolated. There are more than enough outdoor chairs on the porches, a long dining table and benches on the porch, and a bed swing that was popular with everyone. The older grandchildren loved the third floor bunk room, which has a wide open space for playing. It would be nice if the owner would add a table and chairs for legos and puzzles, and a couple of beanbag chairs for watching television. Otherwise, no complaints. We were 7 adults and 4 children in the main house, 4 adults in the carriage house, and we never felt crowded.

Very Nice Property Close To Wonderful Beach

We stayed at Sea Dog and the adjoining Jolly Roger carriage house for a week in October 2016. We found the house to be very nice and accurately described by the photos and list of amenities. The property was clean and well-maintained, and the owner was quick to respond to our initial inquiries and contacts during our stay. The reservation and contracting process was very simple with costs adequately explained. The main house is well laid out for a large group, with three bedrooms, private baths and a capable laundry area on the ground floor. On the main floor, the kitchen was well-appointed with oversize appliances, and had adequate cookware, utensils, dishes and so on for are large group. Some of the cookware was in need of replacement. The bedroom on the main floor has an attached bath, but note this bath is not “private” in that it is the only bath adjoining the main living area, thereby slightly disadvantaging occupants of the room. The third floor bunk area and associated bath worked great for our party. The roof is accessible by a drop-down stair on the third floor, providing panoramic views of the surrounding area. The main house comes with four bikes and the carriage house with two. Our group had a lot of fun ridding around town. There were a few minor issues of note. The property had adequate internet bandwidth, but on occasion connectivity would drop out (important to the 20-somethings in our party). The house directions state to reset the modem in that case, however it was never mentioned where the modem is located. The exterior propane grill did not function properly. It could stand to be replaced or at least thoroughly cleaned. We had to borrow the grill next door. During our stay, there was an annoying major construction project nearby that created a lot of noise during the weekdays. It’s understandable that’s how it goes sometimes. However, the construction workers used a number of the limited parking spots around the property, creating problems for our guests with cars. While the property does have a double garage (one bay for the main house, one for the carriage house), the bays are undersized and unsuitable for larger vehicles. Overall, we greatly enjoyed our stay and would recommend the Rosemary Beach area and this property. The beach part of Rosemary Beach is world-class and easily accessible. The town has a quaint charm with several restaurants and tourist shopping areas within walking distance.

Summer Vacation

We really enjoyed our stay! The location was perfect. Super close to Rosemary and Seacrest shops and restaurants. The house was clean. A few minor repairs needed to be made to the house. The oven did not work great during our stay. There is no pantry or any cooking "condiments" available. As a result, we ate out and/or got take out for the majority of the meals. Great fridge and wine fridge though! We could not find the correct remote to change the TV channels in the living room. Each couple had their own room and bathroom. Although, the upstairs master bathroom doubles as the "guest" bathroom for the second floor/living room area. The upstairs bunk room was perfect for our group of boys. We had an extra boy so we brought an air mattress. There was plenty of room for all of them. Loved having the boys on the top floor. Nice big laundry room. Plenty of bath towels. The management was super easy to work with and responded very quickly to communication.

Beautiful Beach home

The house is beautiful and in a perfect spot for both beach access and town access. We rented bikes as suggested from Good Pedal as recommended and the drop and pick up is so convenient. We called property manager once when we couldn’t find lock box and they picked up immediately and told us exactly where to look. Highly recommend this house for the perfect beach vacation

Get time at the Beach

Great Location!

The location couldn't have been better. One block walk to the beach - right at H walkover - perfect to run back and forth for food/drinks/restroom. The interior, including furnishings, floors, toilets, etc, was what my mother calls, "long in the tooth"... getting old. It is definitely ready for an update. All couches, chairs, dining chairs, felt a bit dingy and looked the same, dingy. The floors were so grimy and piles of sand under each bed! Literally swept under the beds!! Organized kitchen! Good laundry! Nice clean big white bath towels. We had such a fun time! That place with updated furnishings/clean floor would be 5 starts for sure.
