Very private woodsy site, yet near conveniences. Walk to Garwoods restaurant or Watermans beach! A great 'get away from it all'... place!
This all pinewood Mountain Retreat has old Tahoe charm in every room. New kitchen & baths with lovely mountain furnishings make this home a comfortable family retreat for all seasons. Relax on a huge sunny deck or enjoy the warmth of a crackling wood fire. The sun room is a great place to awaken for breakfast before embarking on a backyard ski into the national forest. Adventurous skiers can ski from the cabin and summit Mt Pluto at Northstar resort, then ski back.
Comfortably share the Tahoe experience with friends or another family. A separate playroom/TV room, away from the living room make for quiet adult apres ski conversation while enjoying the stone hearth or outside deck. Off the playroom, an outside sandy badminton/volleyball court or Bocce or Croquet in the backyard make this ideal for young kids. Sports equipment in cabin.
The cabin sleeping arrangements are: Bedroom 1 with 'Queen Log Bed' and exterior deck. Bedroom 2 with 'Queen Log Bed' and exterior deck. Bedroom 3 with 'Log Bunk Bed' twin mattress over full size mattress. Bedroom 4 with full size bed-separate room off the loft with low ceiling-for kids or small adults Twin mattress in the loft Full size pull out couch in Family room.
Gas BarBQue on the deck; sometimes an igloo is in backyard... courtesy of my kids.

This property is wonderfully cozy. Owner has all the amenities the crew will need for base camp to ski and come back and recover. Extensive advice and details provided by the owner really helped make this trip enjoyable and accommodating!
We stayed 5 days at the property for a quick end-of-summer getaway. House was comfortable, owner provided tons of information about the house and local area. Plenty of space for everyone to spread out (Two adults and 3 kids all had their own beds). Kitchen had everything we needed. The kids enjoyed making homemade ice cream using the “ice cream ball.” Will stay again next time we visit!
The cabin was laid out and organized well. The host communicated clearly and responded quickly, and all directions were clear.
It was located in a nice quiet neighborhood, but still just a short drive from a number of activities. There was plenty of room for our family of 4 and a little larger group would still be comfortable there as we didn't even need to use two of the bedrooms.
There were a lot of windows, which was nice for natural light, and watching the snow fall. The dining area and living room were open for easy communication, but there was another living area for when kids wanted to do something different.
Overall, this cabin worked really well for us, and I would recommend it.
Everything about our stay was exceptional from the communication with the property owners to the house itself. The place is fully equipped, well located, clean and perfect to make great memories. I highly recommend staying here!
Our family of 4 spent a week at this wonderful property. This home was private and quiet but also provided easy access to great restaurants & other amenities. It had a very lived-in, comfort home feel, in the best possible way. We loved the glass-surround dining area and plentiful nature yard space. The owner was very responsive throughout our stay. Highly recommended!
We had a fantastic time. Check in was easy and the location was great. I loved curling up in the big chair by the fireplace with a book while it snowed outside. I'd definitely recommend this place.
The cabin was perfect for our stay. It is comfortable and cozy with a rustic cabin decor. It is very well-equipped, with every possible kitchen gadget you might need. The owners shared lots of information about things to do around the lake, including the best restaurants. The beds were very comfortable and the outside areas for dining and relaxing offered a woodsy atmosphere with a true Tahoe feel. Thank you, Steve and Dorothy for sharing your little piece of heaven!
Oh my goodness what a place. We had the best time in Tahoe. The location was perfect, North Tahoe is perfect if you are looking for a relaxing, quiet location. Even though this house is in a housing track you wouldn't know it because of all the trees and quiet neighborhood. At one point we were on the deck and the neighbors were on their deck and we hadn't realized it for hours. The house was clean, plenty of room and everything was at our fingertips. They thought of everything, well stocked and provided. We were so central for everything and thanks to the "book" we knew the best beaches, places to eat and where to shop. We all enjoyed ourselves so much. We want to go back and when we do we want to stay here!!!! Thank you Steve and Dorothy for sharing this beautiful home. We LOVED it.
Thanks for a great stay in Agate Bay! Steve was so responsive both prior to and during our stay. The house is conveniently located near Northstar, Alpine, and Squaw as well as great nearby hiking trails. The beds were comfortable, the fireplace was cozy, and the games library was extensive for family time. We will be returning!
Booking and communication with owner was easy and property exactly as described - even has bonus beds and a dogs allowed policy. All in all - an excellent choice for ski week for our family.
Steven's cabin was a home away from home, and with ample space, and yet a cozy vibe for three adults. The cabin was extremely well stocked, from spices to a coffee grinder, anything you can think of was there (including chilled beer glasses and beer). Steven was extremely courteous and communicative, in a non intrusive way. The wifi was excellent to support video calls for multiple people., the best touch was the little dog welcome basket, complete with toys and a blanket. Overall, a fantastic experience and would highly recommend,
Lake Tahoe is a very special place for my family. We had a wonderful stay at this property. As soon as I booked, Steve was in communication with me and communicated regularly. He went above and beyond by providing recommendations for our trip. As a result, we were able to explore many new places in Carnelian Bay. I loved the cabin’s layout. The cabin had all the supplies we needed. The kitchen was well stocked. The outdoor areas were fun and relaxing. We loved our stay and highly recommend!
Steven and Dorthy’s place is in a Tahoe Vista neighborhood close to everything the North Tahoe area offers. We cooked a lot (covid!) and found everything we needed in the kitchen, even frosty beer mugs in the freezer. Beds are comfy, hangout spaces are snug but not cramped. Fireplace is beautiful and so are Steven’s watercolors on the walls. We had a great stay, and even brought our little dog. Recommend!
The house is cozy, clean, well equipped and beautifully designed. Great location and neighborhood. Close to the lake, stores and Northstar, Squa and Alpine Meadows ski resorts. Steve is a great host. Will be back!
Look no further, this is a great place. It’s easy to reach, but feels like you’re far away from civilization. Steve is great and takes care of the cabin and his guests. Lovely!
A comfortable house with a lovely, classic Tahoe log cabin charm!
This cabin was a great pied-a-terre for summer fun in Tahoe. With four bedrooms plus a little sleeping nook and a sleeper sofa, there was plenty of room. We liked all the rustic decor and touches, and the gorgeous big stone fireplace, which made the living room so very cozy and appealing. The neighborhood is quite hilly, which we enjoyed because it was pleasant to go on a brisk, invigorating morning or evening walk. If you have a dog, you'll love that a dog-friendly beach is only a 20-minute walk (and three-minute drive) away. We brought our dog there three times in two days! The drive to the Safeway, for dinner supplies, was only a few minutes as well. We also liked the big deck, and the kids played badmitton for hours on the genuine sand court! Lastly, it was nice to see photos of the owners on the walls, as well as the owner's own watercolors.
We had a family group of 8 on this stay and could not have been more happy with our stay. There was virtually everything we needed at our fingertips. Wood for the fireplace, chairs for the beach, recommendations for local restaurants, etc. Steve did a great job communicating and you can tell him and his wife put their personal touches on every part of the cabin. Recommend for anyone looking for a classic Tahoe cabin for a reasonable price.

Charming Cabin
Very charming cabin. My daughter didn't want to stay in a "cabin." Once she got there, she loved it. Two suggestions I would make: a TV in the family room and a hot tub, outside. 😁

Steve - the property was clean and having two bathrooms really did suit us sharing with the family.
Looks like it would be really cozy during ski season in the living room. We did not see a bear though both Noni and I have been around them since we were children and therefore know that they can be destructive. I was sleeping on the ground once in the summer in Yellowstone and woke up nose to nose with a black bear. The bear walked around me when I pulled my sleeping bag up over my head and tapped my friend on the head with a paw - this was eons ago when I was just out of high school, on a summer trip with four friends in a 1955 Chevy two door - we left some hotdogs in the trunk - a bear easily got in the car and accessed the trunck from inside the car - lesson learned.

Cozy and Homey
We had a lovely stay. It's a very cozy little place, and immediately felt like home. The host could not have been more responsive, and all of the suggested hikes, restaurants, and recreational activities were very useful and appreciated. Comfortable beds, and kitchen equipped with everything we needed. Lots of board games for us to choose from (though you should bring your own deck of cards if you need any!) It was easy to reach nearby ski resorts, and seems like it would be a great place to stay in the summer, as well. Wonderful to be able to include our dog in the trip, as well - she loved the surroundings! We'll certainly hope to return.

Enjoyed our family ski trip
We stayed at this home on our first ski trip of the season. It was super comfortable and we were able to entertain the adults and kids alike. We skied at Northstar and Squaw, both resorts being within a comfortable driving distance, and relaxed in the evenings with raucous games of Monopoly and cards. Highly recommended!
The only minor suggestion I'd make is to upgrade to a larger TV. Watching the Lord of the Rings on a VHS tape in the smaller TV was a novel experience. :)

Our family loves the outdoors. Tahoe offers 4 seasons of some of the best weather and natural settings on the planet. Our cabin is ideally located to take advantage of all the year round fun that the Tahoe region and Lake Tahoe have to offer. We are in the midst of world class skiing resorts, including x-country & backcountry skiing right out the back door. Our favorite beaches and restaurants are a 20 minute walk with boat & kayak launches even closer by car. Nothing better than relaxing after a day of outdoor fun next to a cozy warm fire with friends and family!

The cabin is 20 minutes from Northstar, Incline Village, Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows, 25-30 minutes from Homewood, Tahoe Donner and Mt Rose, 35 minutes from all Soda Springs Resorts (Sugar Bowl, Donner Ski Ranch, etc.) The cabin is a 5 minute walk to the Lake. The cabin has direct & easy access to backcountry wilderness for hiking & skiing.
