Eclectic Mountain Home with Gorgeous Valley View on 7 Acres
Enjoy the surroundings in this light and bright mountain getaway nestled in the valley on 7 acres just 20 minutes from Asheville. New appliances and furniture, stocked kitchen, and a top-notch view make this spot a memorable stay for days, weeks, or months. It's a quiet spot on a lazy road, the wifi is fast, and there's land to roam.
I've spent the last year giving this open-concept mountain home a facelift. It is now outfitted with maple floors, new paint, fixtures, and brand new kitchen.
It's a bright space with tons of sun pouring in from the windows during the day, but darkens up at night so you can enjoy the stars.
In the summer enjoy picking berries and wildflowers from right outside the door. The road is quiet with long stretches of time with no cars passing.
My home is decorated with treasures found in the woods (nests, bones, and rocks) as well as antique family relics. All bed linens and towels are natural fibers - linen or cotton, and mattresses are brand new. All pillows and comforters are down. Each bedroom has room darkening curtains and a ceiling fan with remote.
The great room shares a space with the kitchen. Cathedral ceilings with a ceiling fan keep the air moving while you look out across the valley through the large sliding glass doors.
The 6-burner Cafe range is a delight to cook upon with a variety of cast iron and enameled cookware. Kitchen basics are provided with a variety of oils, spices, and condiments on hand. Once you get out here, you don't want to go back to town.
There is a large wooden dining table with plenty of chairs. Also, a Sonos sound system for listening to music and podcasts through the wifi network. Cell phone service is iffy, so Wifi is a necessity. The large basement is partially finished with a huge sectional and TV. The unfinished portion of the basement acts as storage and laundry facilities.
This home truly shines due to the phenomenal valley it sits upon. Watch the morning fog roll in and out. Enjoy the dramatic sunrises and sunsets. The stars really are extra bright out here. Walk the country roads to see what the farmers are growing and visit with the livestock. It's really delightful to escape the hustle of Asheville after a long day shopping/ Biltmore-ing/ hiking to land out here in the valley.
Although you can get Uber/Lyft drivers out here, I strongly recommend having a personal reliable vehicle on hand. Bring your bike and ride the rural pastoral land around my home. There is little food delivery to my address. But, there is a kick ass kitchen with all you need to whip up some family favorites (or microwave some leftovers).
I have a new 65" TV in the basement with a large sectional. This is a cozy cinema-type space with it's own gas stove unit. Curl up and watch your favorite shows. Please note that I do not have a TV provider, but it is a smart TV, so plan to login to all your favorite apps for taking advantage of this TV.
My home is not your typical vacation rental. It is personal. It is lived-in. It's not an investment property that has been flipped to look like a hotel suite. It's an intentional space where you're invited to page through books, build a fire in the fire pit, cook a delicious meal, and look at stars. It's also a place with very reliable internet, a great desk workspace, and therefore is comfortable for longer stay for folks who work from home (as do I ). It's also in a super quiet section of the valley. I appreciate the lack of traffic, the convenience of a major grocery store 12 minutes away, and the expansive yard. It's a special home with great neighbors, and tons of character.
Well-behaved pets are welcomed into my space, as I know how important it is to have a comfortable place to sleep while traveling with an animal in-tow. I have a large yard that pets love. Animals are not to be invited on the furniture or bedding. They must be crated if left alone in the home. If excessive cleaning is required due to pets, cleaning is billed at $30 per hour. All pets must be pre-approved prior to arrival. I so ask for an additional pet fee due to the additional cleaning that is required after pet visitors.

This was the best rental I've ever stayed in. The place had soul - hardwood floors, quality kitchen appliances, the beds were sooo comfortable. The host was great, communicative and kind!
Every little part of this home was absolutely beautiful! There is a quaint little goat farm down the road that has the best goat cheese. The views were amazing. The house has a very updated kitchen but nothing about it feels sterile or cold. The vibe of the house is just warm, relaxing, and inviting.

My fiancé and I met 2 friends here to explore Asheville together. As much as I loved the city, truthfully my favorite part of the trip was staying at this perfect and cozy cabin. The views and decor made it a perfect place to spend time with friends to enjoy the mountains in NC. Host is extremely prompt with communication, and very helpful! Would 100% recommend to anyone, and hope to be back soon.

Thanks for such a sweet review, Evelyn. I really appreciate it!
Our family met in Ashville as we are spread out across the East. The entire process from pre-arrival, to post arrival was smooth and easy. Property was awesome, especially for our sons dog who loved running around and chasing whatever she could find. Extremely easy access to Ashville and several hiking trails, including the Patch Summit. Highly recommend.
I have no words to describe how amazing was our Christmas at this house. The view, neighborhood, the space and everything else its so cozy.
The house its completely full of everything specially for cooking and it was one of the reasons I choose this house.
Alexis is a very nice person, taking care of everything all the time, giving us nice Tips of the local, so, we sure will come back soon.
From booking the property to ending our stay, Alexis was amazing to communicate with. The property was as listed and impeccably clean! It had everything our family required…including a beautiful night sky view! The house is beautifully decorated. We loved all of the touches of antique furniture/decor to modern amenities in the kitchen. The evenings were our favorite time to spend outside. From star-gazing, seeing the Milky Way, stunning sunrises, seeing the beautiful storms in the distance, to watching the fog roll over the mountains, we had it all. Alexis welcomed us into her home, not just a house. Next time we’re in the area we will be staying here again! Many special memories made!Thank you again, Alexis!
We had a great stay at Alexis’s home. Loved all the little details she’s put into her place..very well kept and she was always super quick to respond and flexible when our dates changed. The view from the house is beautiful and there’s no shortage of things to do in the surrounding area. Downtown Asheville, blue ridge parkway, the Biltmore, etc. are all about a 20-30 minute drive from the house. As she mentioned in the description, getting an Uber can be a challenge so just keep this in mind when making plans. Would love to stay at Alexis’s place again! 10/10 recommend

Thanks for taking the time to write a lengthy review, Angela. And, also, thank you for taking care my space during your visit. Come back again any time.
Alexis’s mountain retreat is phenomenal! It’s immaculately clean- the open living area is a mix of modern farmhouse/vintage which makes it warm and welcoming . The kitchen is brand new: cabinets, appliances, quartz and has everything you need for meals and seating for 6. The 3 beds are very comfortable with new mattresses and the 2 baths fully equipped with essentials. The home is situated in a valley and the outside deck has amazing views of the mountains- the yard is huge for families to enjoy along with a fire pit. It’s a 15 minute drive to downtown Asheville or a 5 min walk to the local farm for fresh eggs and goat cheese. We will be back again to enjoy this charming oasis!
