Our stay at A Few Steps from Paradise was like paradise! Our host was very friendly & punctual when we had questions. It is very close to the beach, lots of great food locations & beautiful scenery. It was very clean and relaxing; everything we needed!

Spacious apartment stacked with all the essentials and more. The apartment is located steps away from the beach and local restaurants. We felt comfortable and safe. The owners were extremely responsive when we couldn't find a key to the back gate and some scuba gear. The scuba gear was not there, but they offered us to purchase one and be reimbursed for it. We ended up not needing the equipment, but it was nice to have the option. We met the owner's aunt, who graciously helped us with the back gate. Overall, it was a great experience and I would definitely recommend it if you are staying in the area.

The property was wonderful and very helpful. Expedia did not give a correct address or name of the apartment and there were no phone numbers for Expedia or the host of the wonderful apartment we finally found. After two hours of driving around and asking people and trying to contact Expedia the host called us. What a nightmare. The place is not called a few steps from paradise. Please make corrections before this happens to someone else! It’s called Villa Marta

Great location

I went to PR for my Grandma's funeral and needed to find a place to stay quickly and somewhere close. This property was the perfect location. It was also close to the beach. The property owner was super super nice and accommodating, I asked for an early check in because of the time of the funeral and she got back to me very fast and approved. The place was cozy, perfect size, clean, wifi was great. Would def recommend.

Location and responsiveness of management

This is my second stay at this location and like the previous stay it was outstanding. The management staff is extremely responsive to any questions I had (minor questions) and normally responded to my emails within 2-5 minutes. The facility is spotless upon arrival and has accessories for the beach such as noodles, chairs, etc. The apartment is stocked with enough things like coffee, local condiments/spices, menu's, some candy treats and wonderful beach decorations. Mini split units are also included for your comfort in the heat once you arrive from the beach which is a very short walking distance. I am planning another trip to Playa Santa in June and will see if they have availability. Gracias Isaura Ramos for another memorable stay! Will reach out this summer (around June) for another reservation.Regards,Victor

We enjoyed our time very much. Safe and clean. I went to the beach during the day and even at night. So pretty. Cozy. Owner was fully engaged and cared (even brought homemade soup for my 80 year old mom!!) Puerto Ricans are so attentive and kind!!

Playa Santa

Our rental was beautiful and had everything we needed during our stay. The neighborhood around the rental was a mixture of some very nice homes and some not so nice. We were a little hesitant at first to leave outside the front gate but we ventured out and was pleasantly surprised at the quietness of the neighborhood and had no issues with anyone. We spent some time at Playa Santa either basking in the sun and swimming or at the local drink and food shack close to the beach. Playa Santa has nice calm waters so no issues with riptides or anything else. There is a big eyesore of a building behind Playa Santa that would make a visit more pleasant if it were fixed up or demolished. Overall a good experience that would be better if there were more places to eat and places to get groceries a little closer.

Perfect for couples and/or solo travelers

This was me and my husband's honeymoon-on-a-budget destination and it was exactly what we wanted - away from the tourists! We felt very much part of the local scene and were very sufficient with the kitchen that was there and the grocery store that was close by (Econo in Guanica - intersection of 116 & PR-332). Note: the neighbors are close by and you can hear them through the walls and especially when you open the windows, but it gets quiet in time for sleep. Beach wise, we went to different local southwest beaches (Playa Combate, Playa Buye, Atolladora Beach, the lighthouse at Cabo Rojo for cliff views, Playa Jaboncillo) and Playa Jungla ended up being our favorite for off-beach snorkeling. Playa Buye, though gorgeous, is a little dangerous for off-shore snorkeling because of private boat traffic. Through it all, we definitely felt safe and secure and we highly recommend for those that are looking for a quaint home away from home! We highly suggest bringing along a bug zapper racket too if mosquitoes love you - it's an island must-have! May the home bless those who go to stay there as much as it did us :)

So much potential but a FAIL

This property has a wonderful location as it’s just a stroll away from Playa Santa beach, restaurants, and bars. The unit however is not equipped with the basic needs of traveling guests. My husband and I rented this space for a week week. We were left one bath towel, one washcloth apparently to share with each other for a week. It’s unacceptable. The bed(not a queen as described) is a full size mattress and is pushed against a wall, covered in a plastic cove that makes the sheets slide off every time you move. The pillows were so low quality that you might as well flattened and old. This place was so uncomfortable. There’s a 4 cup coffee maker that leaks and hosts do not leave filters, or any complimentary coffee like most hosts provide. The basic soaps, shampoo that are described as provided, are a watered down. You must go to the store immediately just for the basics. No paper towels are provided and we had to buy toilet paper. The tv didn’t work as the remote was broken. Two lights were in need of bulbs. The kitchen was the reason we chose the unit as we are on restricted diets and wanted to make basic meals. There’s not enough supplies to make basic toast(no toaster) I bought vegetables for salads but didn’t have a knife to slice them. The drawer falls out of the cupboard. There’s one futon(the only place other than the uncomfortable bed) and it’s as hard as a rock. My husband and I didn’t expect too much but this was the most uncomfortable stay we have ever encountered

Me encanto el apartamento y todas las facilidades. Solo necesite la comida y articulos personales. Encontre todo lo que necesitaba ahi. El apartento precioso, acogedor, super limpio y comodisimo, y me encamto estar a algunos minutos de la playa caminando. El area y los negocios alrededor muy amables y serviciales.
