And just FYI we were sitting on the swing one night & felt a huge vibration & a loud cracking sound. We got up to investigate & it looks like maybe the posts on the patio might need replacing. These are not complaints just observations.Oaur stay was wonderful! Love, love, love not carrying luggage up stairs. I am interested in Martini Del Mar as well. Does the exterior lift work?

I had a long history with this property. I stayed in this house when I was 30 years old. That was 27 years ago. It was one of the very few houses that is waterfront and doesn’t sit on stilts. It was old 27 years ago, but it was functional. Fast forward 27 years and the lack of maintenance to this house is disgraceful. There wasn’t a drawer or cabinet in the master bedroom that was useable. They would either fall out or had broken off handles on the drawers and cabinets. This same lack of maintenance was the same in the other bedrooms, kitchen and windows. The furniture and house decorations look like someone went dumpster diving and dropped their finds into this house. The owners of this house should be embarrassed. This house is screaming for someone to care just a little bit about it!

I loved the large open floor plan and the view of the ocean from the sunroom. It is an older home and could use a few repairs. The front guest bedroom had a large leak in window by bed when it rained ;been like this a while because bed frames damaged). Air not working in vent over that bed near same window. Made room warm. Fans helped. The sliding glass forts need to be replaced. Handles broken and hard to open/close. Toilet in guest bathroom near ocean toilet needs to be bolted to floor. None of this impacted our stay in a negative way. I would stay there again. Problems just need to be addressed.

It is definitely a dated house but we come to the beach and not to stay in the house. I took a Sun Ninja and set up on deck as there was not a shade. We will definitely rent again

But someone had been shopping. Very well equipped with baking sheets, pyrex, etc. The only thing I found lacking wasn’t a big deal was a larger sized coffee mug. Close to the beach & no stairs. Only thing missing was the sprayer on the end of the hose. Which it now has. I always pack one, that I donated and hope to use again! Made it much easier to hose off us and the furbabies when returning fm the beach. We could leave the hose right @ the ramp to the beach. Now if we could give this nice of a review for the weather the week would have been perfect.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have rented Sandy Beach several times. The house has a great beach location. We knew going in that the kitchen didn’t have much to supply but who cares. This time there were not enough bowls for four people. Silverware was almost nothing. We had to fix the shower to even use it. The handle to the outside porch was still broken. When you pay for your family to have a vacation, you should have at least the basics. When we arrived most the dishes were dirty. They were put away not even washed by the previous renters. Really comforting durning a pandemic. We still had a great time but just a few cheap updates would have been nice. It just seemed very easy to make better and that is what made it frustrating.

Bittersweet relationship with Sandy Beach

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Well, the first thing I thought when walking into this house was, THE VIEW. The second thing I thought was I would not rent again. These were my first feelings in the first hour. HOWEVER, we fell in love with this old beach home. The deck and chairs out back are amazing. The side porch not pictured in the rental pics (it should be) was one of our favorite places. The rooms and bathrooms were clean and we loved them. The mattresses were great. The kitchen needs new cabinets. They are broken down, wood falling off. It is a huge kitchen and the butcher block pictured in the middle (I was wary of it at first) was our favorite place to make everything. This little piece of heaven just needs some tender loving care. The blinds MUST be replaced as they are rusty and falling down. It would also make the presence inside so much better. There are two dens. We loved the one on the sunporch but the floral, the one with the pull out couch must be trashed. It is ripped and awful. We just sat on the other one. These things are listed so you can know what to expect. I would rent again in a heartbeat hoping they will at least do the blinds. Remove unused furniture/pics from closets. Clean the dirt out of the laundry room which is very spacious. Just wish it had a door. Since there wasn't an enclosed outdoor shower, we'd strip down in there and wrap a towel , hang suits on the line and then go inside to shower. There are no stairs. View and steps to the water are insane and worth renting this property. We took good care of it while there but hope the owners put in a little love. Again, new blinds are a MUST (you have to lower them for the turtles so they need to be better), the drawers on the furniture must be fixed. I can live with old cabinetry but needs some desperate care. Know what you are walking into and you will love it. Thank you, Sandy Beach for a great time. Suncoast office was very helpful and we also appreciate them.

The bedrooms and bathrooms we very spacious air conditioning worked well the kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed.The sliding doors would not close completely and the day we had a hard rain the floors got wet we called and they did someone out to fix it but it was going to have more than could be done that day. All linens were clean beds were comfortable.The only think I felt needed to be done is the paneling needs to be replace that looks as it had been damaged by water.I will definitely rent it again.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Grandchild kept getting stuck in the Bathroom because the door would stick in the unfinished jam. The sliding glass doors would not close completely and one side, besides not having door handles, would come out of the track and fall if opened. (After the first attempt, we dod not open that side for the duration of the stay.)Neither of the sliding glass doors had handles and the side we could open had to be lifted and tilted to close completely. Water damage all along the inside rear of the house was visually unappealing and looked as though it had mildew or mold on the paneling at floor level. One of the chairs around the table was split. The bathroom looked as though it had recently been painted but the sheet rock information could be read through the paint making it look unfinished.This was our second time staying in the house and love the location, but the home needs work. Although not as expensive as other properties, at $500 per day, the property should be better maintained.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Location was the top positive. Beachfront and across the street from family. The house has a great layout. Spacious kitchen along with a living area and sunroom. The sunroom provided extra living space. For the negatives, the internet does not work consistently. TV is through streaming so my husband could not enjoy his vacation hobby. Underneath the beds needed cleaning. The sliding doors did not close without the wooden “lock.” Additionally a side door could not be opened. Blinds were old and broken. Need replacing. The last thing was the leaking through windows in a blowing rain. Water puddled in a front bedroom and soaked a suitcase. We enjoyed our stay but hope some issues are corrected for other renters. A living area window also leaked. Each bedroom had its own bathroom which was great. My yes recommendation comes with knowing it is a dated home. Location overcomes negatives.
