About the host
Hosted by Marla
Salvador and Marla love to travel and have lived in many different apartment/hotel settings. We have equipped our home based upon our experiences of what is essential, and what is "wished for" to make your stay comfortable and memorable.
Why they chose this property
This house is a charming, modern home. It embraces you in coziness yet is large enough to have separate spaces for everyone to enjoy. It is located in Denver's much sought-after Highlands neighborhood with quick access to downtown (all bikeable or take a bus half a block from our house). Rent a kayak at REI and paddle in Confluence park or hitch it to your car, and head out to nearby state parks. Enjoy leisurely walks around the neighborhood to explore historic homes and creative gardens. Or meander down to RiNo (River North neighborhood) and downtown to see outstanding mural art and taste great microbrews, bbq and gastropubs. In the summer, a short walk to Sloans Lake takes you to free concerts and great creative dates. Local fairs, farmer markets, and pop-up events abound in our neighborhood.
What makes this property unique
Our house is a charming 1922 bungalow with original built-ins, wood floors, and craftsman details. The large front porch invites you to take your coffee in the morning and greet neighborhood children as they walk to school. From streets named after Indigenous tribes to parks, restaurants, and public art, you can see, hear, and taste the influences of those who have created thriving communities in our neighborhoods.
