Luxurious Mountain Home - 5-Star Comfort - You'll Love It!
This home is the perfect spot for your getaway! With 3 levels and an open floor plan, there is plenty of space to be together, and plenty of space to enjoy a little quiet time away from the rest.
The location is close enough to Grand Lake (a few minutes away) to enjoy it's mountain charm, and just a short walk from Shadow Mountain Lake, and yet far enough away to be a quiet refuge.
This mountain home (and everything in it) is top quality, clean, and comfortable! All the furnishings were purchased with luxury and comfort in mind.
The 2-story great room is the center of the home and a perfect gathering space, featuring hardwood floors, a wonderful true gourmet kitchen and island breakfast bar with slab granite counter tops, eating area with a huge table, gas fireplace, big flat screen TV, sound bar, and Sonos Hi-Fi music wireless speaker system. This room spills out onto a spacious private deck living area that is partially covered with a gas fire pit to gather around during cool nights (not practical during cold winter months), a built-in outdoor kitchen with gas BBQ (again not during coldest weather), side burner and drop-in cooler, with ample seating to take in the scenery and the great outdoors.
The master bedroom is on this main floor, featuring a king-size bed, a flat screen TV, it's own cozy sitting area/retreat, 5-piece bathroom, and walk-in closet.
Upstairs is a wonderful loft area, complete with a flat screen TV, and a large private bedroom with a king-size bed and a day bed trundle/pull out (2 twins), walk-in closet, and it's own full bathroom. We love the “suite” feel of the loft.
Downstairs is a quiet walk-out level with 2 king bedrooms and another full bathroom with 2 vanities and a shower. These bedrooms are just off a third living area and game table area with a big flat screen TV, DVD/VHS player, and a game system, games, puzzles, and books galore, 2 comfortable sofas. This area is perfect for kids of all ages to get away from the rest of the gang and play to their heart's content.
Just outside the atrium door from the walk-out level family room is a quiet area with 2 porch swings. Watch the kids. Enjoy the view. Breathe the wonderful mountain air.
All of the bed linens and towels are top quality. We have tried to outfit the kitchen with the best of everything - and everything we could think of.
The home feels secluded but is just minutes from everything you'd want to do. It is complete with WiFi, high-efficiency washer and dryer, an on-demand hot water system that enables you to run all the showers, dishwasher, and washer without ever running out of hot water, beautiful decor, beautiful views, and is ready for you and your family to enjoy time after time.
A couple of notes: (1) there is a garage but it is not available at any time, and (2) there is no air conditioning - it cools off nicely at night and solar gain can be managed with the window coverings.

The property is clean and well equipped. It’s close to town, and Rocky Mountain National Park. We enjoyed our stay. I would recommend it to family and friends.
This was a great, relaxing getaway for my family after celebrating my daughter's wedding in Estes Park. The accommodations were excellent and the deck was perfect for hanging out. We would definitely consider staying here again!
The home was perfect for our group of 8 adults, (6 siblings/2 spouses) Everything was clean, comfortable and well equipped. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook several meals and we also enjoyed the large patio and outdoor kitchen. The location was good, close to the town of Grand Lake and near the marina at Shadow Mountain Lake from which we enjoyed a pontoon ride. Overall a wonderful home that we would return to.
Everything was so nice ! The bedrooms were so comfortable. The deck was a great family gathering place. We had the best time !! Owners were responsive to the questions we had !!
This home is absolutely gorgeous and was perfect for our stay in Grand Lake. It had everything we needed to make our stay fun and relaxing. The game room is amazing. The layout of the home allowed our teens to enjoy their time together and the adults to have peace and quiet on the main level. We loved our time here and would definitely book again.
An extended family gathering for a few days at Grand Lake has become a new tradition for us. The house was perfection, and we appreciated the hosts' welcoming manner, and their attention to detail. We are already looking forward to our return next summer!
I can’t say enough about our stay here. The owners were fantastic with communication and very kind. The home is just gorgeous and the perfect mountain getaway. I could not have asked for a better stay. There were even high chairs to choose from for my baby. They have literally thought of everything!
The home was beautiful and very comfortable. It matched the photographs and description posted on the VRBO site. We were very happy and would definitely consider renting this property again. These owners have thought of everything especially in the kitchen - many amenities you don't always see in a VRBO.
Our time in the Mt Home couldn't have been better. Every amenity was as advertised. My wife, myself and 7 grandchildren ages 15-17 had the best time. We used everything: Kitchen, grill, firepit, VCR and DVD players, games, and hiked the hill behind the home.
This property exceeded our expectations by 1000%. It is beautiful, well appointed, great location and super comfortable. Anything you could possibly need has been provided by the thoughtful owners.
Beds comfortable, shower pressure great and lots of hot water. The little ones enjoyed exploring the property and the walk up to the beautiful lake view is well worth it!
We highly recommend this property for groups, enough room for privacy and gathering.
The house was exactly as described. It was a perfectly laid out for our family with master on main floor 2 bedrooms on lower floor and 1 bedroom on top floor. Check in and out was easy. The view from the house was so beautiful. My daughter saw a moose the first day we were here. Thank you so much for a beautiful time in a beautiful place!
Very comfortable for large family...well equiped with everything needed. Just bring food and drink...more towels and special green garbage bags needed for large groups
This house was our favorite! Great floor plan, you don’t feel like you’re on top of each other. The kitchen is stocked for everything. It’s nestled in trees, easy to get to, roads were plowed nicely. Spacious bedrooms, comfy beds, nice linens etc. The owners have thought of everything. Highly recommend.

Lovely Large Home
This lovely home was a blessing for us since the flood in Estes Park last year kept us from staying in Estes. We had to scramble to find somewhere else in Colorado and Grand Lake fit the bill. The owners were very nice and easy to work with. The home was much bigger than we needed but wanted something nice and close to RMNP. It was furnished beautifully, had comfy beds and linens and a fabulous covered back deck. It is only a short drive into the town of Grand Lake (5-10 minutes). My husband and I had a fabulous time during our stay here. Wildlife viewing at dawn or dusk is a must since you are so close to the RMNP entrance!
Impressive house for 4 couples with all the amenities needed. Close to town. Spacious to keep everyone comfortable. Cool CO evenings. A great dining table to get everyone together for dinner and porch for just hanging out, barbequing and sitting around the fire pit. Bringing the trash to the recycling center was OK using the prepaid bags but never found a good place to 'store' the trash bags while in use and never did find where the recyclables went at the center.
Impressive house offers open great room for gathering as well as privacy on three levels
This beautiful home is located in an upscale neighborhood near the south end of Shadow Mountain Lake. Just over the hill from the lake, the cul-de-sac offers quiet and privacy.
It’s less than a 10-minute drive into the town of Grand Lake.
Separate entertainment areas and ample bedrooms plus sleeper sofas provided privacy for each family. Our three generations were very comfortable.
The large kitchen was fully stocked, including spices, cooking oil, etc.
Note: summer & fall of 2023 : constant noise from construction of a new house next door was present 8 to 10 hrs/day with the exception of Sunday. Enjoying the deck and gas fire pit was more pleasant after work ceased (6:00 or later).
Easy access to Grand Lake and the Rocky Mountain National Park. We had a great time and loved the town! Wildlife viewing off the back porch! Dinner at the Grand Lake Lodge is a must, it was fantastic. The home was perfect!
We had a wonderful stay - the location is fantastic and the home is wonderful - highly recommend. The layout worked perfectly for our multi-generation extended family getaway. I was highly impressed with the kitchen - had EVERYTHING you would need and was well stocked with silverware, plates, glasses to accommodate 10 people without running the dishwasher between EVERY meal. We loved the area and hope to return in the future.

About the host

We are both Colorado natives, born and raised. We have spent as much time as we could vacationing in the mountains and had always dreamed of having a little slice of heaven in Grand Lake to build family memories. Now we are pleased to be able to share it with you. We hope you and your family will enjoy our mountain home and will create your own wonderful memories.
Why they chose this property
Located at the headwaters of the Colorado River and situated on the shores of Grand Lake, Colorado's largest natural body of water, the Town of Grand Lake is the western gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park. Home of the world's highest registered yacht club, the nation's highest altitude golf course with grass greens, and Colorado's premiere summer musical company, Grand Lake offers a unique getaway for all. Also adjacent to Arapaho National Recreation Area, Grand Lake has been dubbed the 'Snowmobile Capital of Colorado' due to its access from Town to Colorado's largest network of groomed snowmobile trails. Grand Lake is a year-round vacationer's paradise for over one-hundred years.
This beautiful home is less than 2 hours from Denver and is easy to get to. Our home is not far (just 5 minutes) from Grand Lake at the foot of Rocky Mountain National Park and all the area attractions but it feels like it's in a secluded, private area. It's just a short walk to Shadow Mountain Lake, the Colorado River, walking trails, the public boat launch, and canal between Shadow Mountain Lake and Granby Reservoir. The area offers fishing, boating, hunting, snowmobiling, skiing, snowshoeing, and hiking with plenty of wildlife to enjoy.
What makes this property unique
Our home is uniquely situated near Grand Lake and all the attractions, but feels like it's private and remote. The Shores of Shadow Mountain neighborhood is a planned community with paved roads and easy access, and our home is on a very quiet cul-de-sac with virtually no traffic. Our home itself is luxurious, accommodating, and comfortable with fine furnishings and everything you might need.
