About this property
Luxurious Mountain Home - 5-Star Comfort - You'll Love It!
This home is the perfect spot for your getaway! With 3 levels and an open floor plan, there is plenty of space to be together, and plenty of space to enjoy a little quiet time away from the rest.
The location is close enough to Grand Lake (a few minutes away) to enjoy it's mountain charm, and just a short walk from Shadow Mountain Lake, and yet far enough away to be a quiet refuge.
This mountain home (and everything in it) is top quality, clean, and comfortable! All the furnishings were purchased with luxury and comfort in mind.
The 2-story great room is the center of the home and a perfect gathering space, featuring hardwood floors, a wonderful true gourmet kitchen and island breakfast bar with slab granite counter tops, eating area with a huge table, gas fireplace, big flat screen TV, sound bar, and Sonos Hi-Fi (use “Sonos S1” app only) music wireless speaker system. This room spills out onto a spacious private deck living area that is partially covered with a gas fire pit to gather around during cool nights (not practical during cold winter months), a built-in outdoor kitchen with gas BBQ (again not during coldest weather), side burner and drop-in cooler, with ample seating to take in the scenery and the great outdoors.
The master bedroom is on this main floor, featuring a king-size bed, a flat screen TV, it's own cozy sitting area/retreat, 5-piece bathroom, and walk-in closet.
Upstairs is a wonderful loft area, complete with a flat screen TV, and a large private bedroom with a king-size bed and a day bed with a trundle/pull out (2 twins), walk-in closet, and it's own full bathroom. We love the “suite” feel of the loft.
Downstairs is a quiet walk-out level with 2 king bedrooms and another full bathroom. These bedrooms are just off a third living area and game table area with a big flat screen TV, DVD/VHS player, and a game system, games, puzzles, and books galore, 2 comfortable sofas. This area is perfect for kids of all ages to get away from the rest of the gang and play to their heart's content.
Just outside the atrium door from the walk-out level family room is a quiet area with 2 porch swings. Watch the kids. Enjoy the view. Breathe the wonderful mountain air.
All of the bed linens and towels are top quality. We have tried to outfit the kitchen with the best of everything - and everything we could think of.
The home feels secluded but is just minutes from everything you'd want to do. It is complete with WiFi, high-efficiency washer and dryer, an on-demand hot water system that enables you to run all the showers, dishwasher, and washer without ever running out of hot water, beautiful decor, beautiful views, and is ready for you and your family to enjoy time after time.
A couple of notes: (1) there is a garage but it is not available at any time, and (2) there is no air conditioning - it cools off nicely at night and solar gain can be managed with the window coverings.

About the host
Hosted by John and Becky Greenwald

We are both Colorado natives, born and raised. We have spent as much time as we could vacationing in the mountains and had always dreamed of having a little slice of heaven in Grand Lake to build family memories. Now we are pleased to be able to share it with you. We hope you and your family will enjoy our mountain home and will create your own wonderful memories.
Why they chose this property
Located at the headwaters of the Colorado River and situated on the shores of Grand Lake, Colorado's largest natural body of water, the Town of Grand Lake is the western gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park. Home of the world's highest registered yacht club, the nation's highest altitude golf course with grass greens, and Colorado's premiere summer musical company, Grand Lake offers a unique getaway for all. Also adjacent to Arapaho National Recreation Area, Grand Lake has been dubbed the 'Snowmobile Capital of Colorado' due to its access from Town to Colorado's largest network of groomed snowmobile trails. Grand Lake is a year-round vacationer's paradise for over one-hundred years.
This beautiful home is less than 2 hours from Denver and is easy to get to. Our home is not far (just 5 minutes) from Grand Lake at the foot of Rocky Mountain National Park and all the area attractions but it feels like it's in a secluded, private area. It's just a short walk to Shadow Mountain Lake, the Colorado River, walking trails, the public boat launch, and canal between Shadow Mountain Lake and Granby Reservoir. The area offers fishing, boating, hunting, snowmobiling, skiing, snowshoeing, and hiking with plenty of wildlife to enjoy.

What makes this property unique
Our home is uniquely situated near Grand Lake and all the attractions, but feels like it's private and remote. The Shores of Shadow Mountain neighborhood is a planned community with paved roads and easy access, and our home is on a very quiet cul-de-sac with virtually no traffic. Our home itself is luxurious, accommodating, and comfortable with fine furnishings and everything you might need.
