First off, I want to address one of my concerns before going was the location but the neighborhood was very quiet with people walking, biking, etc. It can use some ipdates but it would definitely stay there again.

Loved the quiet historic area and size of apartment. Good central location for our needs.
This worked well for what we needed. The bathroom was kind of in rough shape - there was a big gap between the tub and wall, for example. Not a big deal though. Also, it was very rainy that weekend, and there was a bit of a damp musty smell that we couldn’t really get rid of. Probably normal for that time of year in an older unit. The couch had an odd balance to it…it sort of tilted forward. It felt like you were leaning forward the whole time you were sitting.
Very nice apartment. The beds were comfortable. The neighborhood was nice and quiet. The fenced backyard was great for the dog. Communication with the owner was perfect. Its close to many bars and restaurants.
Wow what a great property. Place was clean, nice beds, plenty of towels and dishes. Only 4 star because of work needed in bathroom ( holes in plaster by shower head, side of tub, and sink outlet), kithen counter top pulling away from wall and not great stairs leading up to 2nd floor. Would stay there again
Unfortunately the place wasn’t clean. We found dead mice and it smelled very strongly of cigarettes. The communication was quick but we ended up getting a refund and staying somewhere else

Not Clean
Great location for getting around, host is very responsive. Property is pretty dirty, there’s a lot, lot of different kinds of animal hair on the couch and rug in the main area and lots of dirt clumps/building up in corners around the apartment, few holes in walls and trim separating from door frames.
Good place if you don’t mind the lack of cleanliness and musty/stale smell.
Super easy to find, park, and checkin.

Response from VrboOwner on 30 Jan, 2024
Alexys had contacted us about canceling the trip the day prior to checkin, we pointed out our cancellation policy and offered to refund them anything we could rerent. They refused and the unit was supposedly very dirty. From the locks they never entered the unit and this is retaliation for not canceling their reservation.
In all honesty, pretty much everything was great! A couple things should probably be addressed though. The shower is either scalding hot or ice cold, kind of hard to find the warm water, but once you do the water pressure is really good. The shower doors want to fall off most times you use them, but again, it just takes a bit of finessing.
Communication with the owner was incredible, he was super prompt and seemed like if any of the small issues we had were brought up then he would have taken care of them ASAP, we just weren’t all that bothered by them. All in all, we would definitely stay here again

Pros
Convenient location, accessible and helpful owner, lovely neighborhood, easy parking close to lots of things to do, pleanty of hot water, clean.
Kitchen was nice to have and we appreciated the Kurig coffee maker that included coffee.
Cons
Shower didn't work right, outdoor steps are in very bad shape and need replacing. The handrail on steps and pourch are too low to the point of being scarey. Air conditioner was very loud, cheap plastic toilet lid.
My husband and I stayed here with our two boys ages 10 and 13. We were in town for the funeral of a family member but made time to take our boys to see the sights. It is a very convenient location to see the arch and we also took our boys to City Museum. It's a nice, quiet, historical neighborhood. The host was great with communication!

This property was 8 minutes from the dome of america.
We attended the dirt nationals and it was perfect for a couple guys. The interior had some rough places in the walls and furniture was old and worn. The mattress was ok with plenty of pillows. The shower would trickle when you got the temperature correct. We used caution when climbing the steps and landing. I found it odd that the light switches were so close to the floor. I was feeling for the bathroom light when i knocked a picture off, it hit the baseboard and it fell over due to no nails in it.
It had 1 tv with Roku. I liked the key pad at the door so their were no keys to deal with. We had a problem getting it open but the manager responded to my text immediately. The area looked safe and it was quite. School and church on the corners. No resturants or stores nearby.
In closing. We agreed we would stay their again.
