About the host
Your host
My wife and I love traveling, spending time with our family and finding places where we can get away from the noise of everyday life. When we first saw this property, we fell in love with it immediately and knew it was something special. This is our personal dream home, not simply an investment property, and we want our guests to enjoy it and make memories here just as our family does. We value privacy, so when you stay here, we want you to feel like the property is truly yours. We’ll give you your space, but we’re always just a text or phone call away if you need anything. We hope you leave loving this place as much as we do.
Why they chose this property
We fell in love with this area and property the first time we saw it. There is a peacefulness here that is difficult to describe until you experience it. You feel completely removed from the noise and pace of everyday life, surrounded by mountains, flowing water, wildlife and nature, yet you’re still close enough to enjoy everything Western North Carolina has to offer. We wanted a place where our family could slow down, spend time together and enjoy the outdoors—and this was exactly what we had been looking for. Waking up to birds, listening to the river and sitting outside at night with nothing but the sounds of nature never gets old.
What makes this property unique
It’s difficult to capture this property in pictures. Nearly 50 private acres surround our beautiful new mountain home, with the Big Hungry River flowing through the property, mountain creeks, a spring-fed trout pond, waterfalls, natural swimming holes, walking and riding trails, fire pits and even a yurt tucked into the property. Wildlife and beautiful birds are everywhere.
What makes it truly special, though, is the feeling of being here. You can wake up to hummingbirds, walk the trails in the morning, fish the pond, explore the creeks and waterfalls, cool off in a swimming hole, sit beside the river or gather around a fire at night. There are places throughout the property where you can simply disappear into nature and enjoy complete peace and privacy.
We have traveled extensively, but when we first saw this land, we knew we had found something unusually special. It feels almost untouched—a private mountain sanctuary where the water, trees, wildlife and mountains surround you. The house is beautiful, but the nearly 50 acres surrounding it are what make staying here an experience rather than simply renting a vacation home.
