Soak up the awesome long range views from over 500 sq. ft of decking or watch magnificent sunsets from the outdoor hot tub at this three-level log cabin on 20 beautiful secluded acres in Black Forest.

Includes fully-furnished kitchen, BBQ grill, outdoor dining furniture on the deck, and picnic table near the firepit so you can dine overlooking the National Park.

Three bedrooms feature:
Bottom floor with TV, DVD player, and doors to outside should someone want to stay out late;
Main floor bedroom has patio door leading to hot tub deck, and convenient to kitchen for a midnight snack;
Upstairs bedroom includes a loft providing extra sitting room for reading or enjoying the view.
Each floor has its own bathroom adjacent to the bedrooms.

Get cozy by the stone fireplace in winter, stroll among blooming dogwoods in spring, immerse yourself in outdoor activities in summer, or be spellbound by stunningly colorful leaves in fall. Black Forest Retreat is a vacation you will never forget.

Remember we are in the heart of the mountains with narrow, winding, steep roads around. Not recommended for motorcycles.

NO PETS. Unfortunately, this is not a pet friendly property as we are in the woods. Please find a friend or kennel who can keep your fur babies during your stay.

The cabin wasn’t far from town and it was very clean with lots of space for are family and had all the things we needed so all we had to buy was food and drinks so they saved us money with having the other stuff there to use

This is a great cabin with beautiful views. This was a weekend getaway with the family, and we enjoyed our stay. The host was great and answered questions promptly. We would definitely stay here again.

Endless view of the mountains

nice stay, clean cottage, spacious, with a great view. close to the town, and to Smokey mountains national park. you need to arrive during the daylight, the drive up the mountain is a bit tricky. I highly recommend the place

Perfect cabin

The pictures do not do this place justice. The cabin is so well built, maintained and furnished. It’s just far enough away to feel secluded but very convenient to all there is to do in and around Bryson City. We loved it!

Gorgeous, private cabin with amazing views

We had an excellent stay at this property, one of the best I've ever enjoyed. WHAT I LOVED: 1. Wood-burning fireplace 2. Well-stocked kitchen with coffee filters, extra paper towels, leftover containers, and a blender 3. Night lights, flashlights, those little portable battery lights 4. The view! 5. Space heaters for bathrooms 6. Lots of pillows, towels, sheets, small rugs 7. Clean and large washer and dryer 8. Rocking chairs on the porch 9. Cute ladybugs for good luck 10. Many electrical outlets, fast wi-fi 11. Hot tub and easy-to-use cover 12. Good communication with the host who answered my not-really-dumb-just-tired questions 13. Plenty of hot water for the shower, the variety of lighting in the bathrooms 14. Unscented laundry soap 15. Subtle holiday decorations 16. Extreme privacy WHAT WOULD HAVE MADE IT BETTER 1. The hot tub temperature only got to a high of 97. Fortunately, the shower was good and hot 2. Neither of the DVD players worked but there was a good HDMI cord so I used my laptop to stream Netflix 3. Like I ask all hosts, more hooks to hang clothes and towels, unscented hand soap. This was a fabulous cabin and a great location. I enjoyed hiking all the way up, up, up the road where I saw deer and turkey and made my legs good and sore. I like that the road is gated; I didn't worry about hunters. We mostly relaxed and rested on this trip but in the past have spent more time in downtown Bryson City, hiking in the woods, and shopping in Waynesville. This is an absolutely beautiful part of the country and I'm grateful to the Lasseters for sharing their delightful house with us. We'll be back!

We never attempted to contact the hosts because we just didn't need to! The cabin was easy to find. Getting up to the cabin on the steep, narrow, mostly-gravel road was a bit scary and challenging without FWD, but once there, everything about it was wonderful! It was very comfortable, well-stocked with everything you would need, and had beautiful views, as promised. With plenty of puzzles, table games to play, and dvd's to watch, we never used the hot tub, but kept busy with plenty to entertain us, for the times we were there after our daily jaunts. Other than the sketchy drive up the mountain to get there, we couldn't have chosen a better, more centrally-located place to stay for all of the relaxing things available to do nearby. Thanks for your hospitality!

Excellent is all I can say. The Cabin, the view, the directions to get there. Everything worked, the cabin was well stocked. There are 3 Hummingbird feeders on the deck. It was fun watching one male ruby throat trying to keep all three to himself.

Wonderful Thanksgiving Getaway

We were pleasantly surprised when arriving at the cabin- the pictures did not do it justice! The owners were so friendly and responsive to our messages leading up to our stay. The cabin was beautiful, clean, and had a well stocked kitchen for preparing meals. The views were gorgeous. We hope to be back! I do suggest an SUV or Truck for accessing the cabin.

Polar Express Train Ride

We were looking for a location that could accommodate our family when visiting Bryson City for the train ride. This was the perfect find! Property was beautiful and wonderfully kept. We had a great weekend trip. Highly recommend!

Terry and Elizabeth Lasseter have been enjoying the Smoky mountains for nearly 40 years so felt it only natural to build their own cabin. Terry is a retired mailman and Elizabeth is a retired math teacher. They have been avid kayakers, hikers, and nature lovers who fell in love with mountain life. They hope you love the cabin as much as they do!!

Why they chose this property

After tent camping in the mountains for years, we finally started renting cabins. We then decided to build our own so we could own a piece of heaven! We looked for two years to find just the right spot. It has privacy and serenity, yet is convenient to town and all the mountain activities we love. We could not find just the right floor plans, so drew our own to build the perfect place to make forever memories.

What makes this property unique

It is secluded and private, yet convenient to get to all the places we enjoy, and the drive into town is absolutely beautiful. Although there are very few neighbors, the ones we have are friendly and treat us like family.
We especially enjoy the serenity of hiking around the mountain, picking blackberries or viewing wildlife. After a long day of kayaking or hiking some trails, we can relax in the hot tub to take in the view or sit in the rocking chairs on the porch or gaze out the window from the living room or bedroom. No matter which we choose, it is like heaven on earth!
