We loved this house! It was perfect for 6 adults and we loved being able to explore the North Shore and Lake Superior areas with this as our "home base" for a few days. Loved the decor and the deck! And, we especially loved the wildlife we got to see right in the front yard.

The house is lovely, the mid-century vibe is so fun. The neighborhood is quiet which suited us perfectly. Short drive to downtown and activities. Clean and had all the things we needed for cooking. Very kid friendly (ours are 6 and 8).

Great location in a quiet neighborhood! Perfect size for our family and great headquarters for exploring Duluth and north shore. Enjoyed the deck for morning coffee and spaces to hang out together as a family!
Plenty of space for a family to spread out and relax. Better location than expected with many walkable sites & services and a short drive to anything local. We had an issue with our dishwasher when we arrived and the person who came to resolve it ended up being the highlight of the rental—Christine was so very knowledgeable and hospitable. Amazing lake view from the deck, birds, deer, and rabbits to observe. This house ended up exceeding expectations.

It is a beautiful home and does have good views. I should have done more research as it would have been nice to closer to canal street. But that was my fault. Thank you for having such a clean and beautiful home.

Aspen View was a great place to rest after returning from our days at Zaxsim Bog (approximately 1 hour from the property). It had everything we needed and plenty of room in a nice, quiet neighborhood.
We enjoyed a wonderful stay at Aspen View! From check-in to check-out, the experience was fantastic. Plenty of room to spread out, well appointed and probably one of the cleanest properties I've ever visited! Aspen View made for a very comfortable weekend stay in Duluth. Highly recommend!

We just needed a quick trip away before the summer chaos begins for our family. We have a special needs child so a home setting was perfect for accommodating his needs. Our youngest was enthralled with the surrounding nature and spent so much time watching the deer and rabbits. The quiet neighborhood was great and the access to local eats and shops was perfect. We’re already thinking of next Fall or next year.
Spacious with great views of the lake. Fun mid century mod. Very clean. We’ll be back.

Good afternoon Paula,
Thank you for staying with us, and taking a moment to share your experience! Our team is extremely bummed to hear of the ants in the property. Even if its that time of year, that is something we never want a guest to encounter and get disrupted by. We jumped at this issue right away, and had everything professionally sprayed to avoid future instances. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention, and hope it didn't take away from a phenomenal overall stay. We would love another opportunity to host you sometime, and thank you again for being a wonderful guest of ours Paula.
Kind regards,
Britney
A couple disappointments. The listing showed a large deck overlooking LS but the deck was closed to us. We selected this listing specifically because of the deck. The listing said right in the lake -it was not near the lake.

Marsha - I'm truly sorry to hear about the disappointments you experienced during your stay. We understand that the view of Lake Superior is a major draw, and we wholeheartedly agree that enjoying it from the deck is a special part of the experience our property offers. Unfortunately, we had to temporarily close access to the deck due to some necessary improvements we're currently working on. We're actively working to complete these improvements as quickly as possible so the deck can be available again soon. Thank you again for choosing to stay with us and for giving us the opportunity to learn from your experience. We sincerely hope to welcome you back in the future for a truly enjoyable stay from beginning to end. -Michelle
We stayed at Aspen Lane for a weekend family gathering. The space was great with enough room for all three generations to be comfortable in the house and be together. The neighborhood is very nice. It is quiet and residential, but not too far from restaurants. There was one small glitch regarding the directions on how to lock the front door when we were going out, but that was promptly handled by our contact for the property. Communication from the owner was great. It snowed while we were there, the sidewalks and driveway were shoveled early in the morning which was much appreciated.

Lots of room. Quiet, peaceful neighborhood. Everything worked well. Microwave display too dim to read during the day. Foosbal table was a blast. Enjoyed playing the 45 RPM records.

Nice family vacation
The house was sufficient for our family size and needs. The property was very clean and prepped nicely. The location is kind of strange and in a secluded part of a neighborhood which led to coyote in the yard. The kitchen had basically everything I needed to cook multiple meals for my family. I do wish we had use of the garage with the winter storm but the owners provided quick and thorough snow removal the morning after. The basement bedrooms were extremely cold despite turning up the heat and following the posted heating instructions. We also managed to lock ourselves out of the property because there’s a locking doorknob in addition to the keypad. I feel like we couldn’t use some of the amenities and features due to the season but overall it’s a nice place to stay.

Rissa - We take great pride in maintaining everything is in top condition so I’m glad to hear that Aspen View met your family’s needs and contributed to a positive experience. While the seclusion of the neighborhood offers privacy and tranquility in a more natural setting, we realize that encountering wildlife can be surprising and unexpected at times. We completely understand how frustrating it must’ve been to deal with the storm and we’re grateful for your patience as we took care of the snow removal. We look forward to the opportunity to host you again and provide an even more seamless experience next time!
I am thrilled that we got to experience this beautiful, custom built midcentury modern home in an intimate, mature, small neighborhood. I so appreciated the original decor, the vaulted, beamed ceilings, the woodwork, some linoleum, windows, etc. The things that were done to bring some updated touches are done perfectly. The furniture, if not original to the home, it fits in such a genuine way. the art, again, if not original, is extremely well suited to the home. The yard is lovely, stately & the perfect size. The kithcen is well stocked. I love light wood, so I am totally smitten with the floors & the kitchen cabinets. The master bed was very comfortable & very well dressed. The only dissappointment was the condition of the deck, but it was so enjoyable out there & the view is incredible! Thank you for sharing this very speccial home with us!
The listing described the house perfectly, and the photos were honest! We feel like the property we walked into was exactly what we were counting on.
We did a family spring break trip to Duluth with our family of four and one grandma and the space was perfect for us. There was plenty of space for us to hang out, cook, play games, and chill together, but also plenty of space for quiet introversion. The view from the deck was incredible and the neighborhood was very peaceful. Foosball was a hit with all ages. It really was everything we hoped for and would absolutely stay again.
Two items of note: the driveway and road are a bit steep, as are some neighborhood roads. If you'll be here during the snowy season, be sure you're in a vehicle that can handle slippery, steep conditions. Also, the only seasonings we found in the kitchen were salt and pepper, along with sugar and vegetable oil, so if you're planning to do a lot of cooking you may want to bring your own

Good afternoon Emy,
Thank you kindly for sharing such a fabulous and detailed review with us! The Aspen View house is located in such a perfect area, and allows you to hunker down inside the home, while still having the most gorgeous surrounding area to explore with everyone! We couldn't be happier to know your entire family had the best time, and enjoyed the space just as much as we do! Duluth can sure be interesting during our winter months, and we appreciate the heads up on roads for future guests! Since Duluth is located on a hill itself, roads can be tricky during off seasons, but we're so glad your stay was safe, comfortable and filled with amazing new memories! Thank you again for your lovely thoughts and observations, and for spending your spring break with us up north! We are eager to welcome you back, especially during the summer where the deck at Aspen View becomes even more magical!
Kind regards,
Britney
