The cottage is charming and perfect for our visit to the Lake District. Stuart (the host) was informative and quick with responses. Would definitely stay here again our next visit to the area!
We had a lovely stay at the cottage in Troutbeck.
It was close to the villages of Ambleside & Windemere as well as local hiking trails. The kitchen was well equipped and functional, which allowed us to cook most meals. Modern bathrooms and comfortable beds. Lots of character and the views were lovely. Would definitely stay again.
The cottage is perfectly situated for hiking. There are amazing trails straight from the cottage, plus others you can find by car. The host, Stuart was helpful and answered any questions we had promptly. The cottage is a delight and the village of Troutbeck away from the crowds.

Safe travel Susan and hope to see you again .
Lovely location in the country. Quiet and peaceful.Ours was one of 3-4 others nestled together. The views from the walking/hiking paths around our rental were absolutely stunning. The rental was comfortable and had every amenity needed. Windermere was a short drive away. Great restaurants in the area. The manager was very responsive.
We had a wonderful stay at this charming cottage in Troutbeck. The setting was peaceful, surrounded by scenic walking paths right outside the door—and plenty of adorable sheep along the way! It felt like a true countryside escape, yet it was just a short drive to Ambleside and Windermere, which made exploring the Lake District easy . The complimentary afternoon tea at the Old Post Office Tea Room was a nice touch.Just a note that although there is parking infront of the house, it could be used by the neighbors. We managed to get parking everyday we were there.
As beautiful as the pictures are, the house and the location are even better! Close to everything, but a peaceful oasis that is the very best of the Lake District. Stuart was extremely helpful and responsive, and we felt welcome from the moment we stepped over the threshold. The facilities themselves were roomy and the height of comfort. A wonderful experience from beginning to end. Thank you!!!
