About this property
Columbia River Waterfront-Private Beach with Kayaks/Canoe - 7 min from I-5
Enjoy a waterfront experience with a bounty of views in all directions, including shipping traffic, snow-capped volcanoes, bird watching, and berry fields. The upper two floors of the home accommodate 6–8 people and include 3 spacious bedroom suites, all with river and mountain views.
Paddlers can launch from the private beach, and summer guests will be dazzled by kite surfers skipping across the river. Play on the beach, swim, gather at the fire pit, banter at the foosball table, or make music on the grand piano. Relax at the landing of leisure in a quiet agricultural setting and enjoy the sights of giant shipping traffic.
The Craftsman-style woodwork throughout the house was sourced from various historic buildings throughout the Portland area. This material would have originally been harvested by teams of horses in Oregon’s old-growth forests. Some trim pieces have more than 100 years of growth across a single board and would have come from trees still standing while Lewis and Clark passed this site on November 5th, 1805. The upstairs game room maple floor was recycled from a school gym.
The entire top two floors (2,400 square feet) are yours for private use. We also have a studio on the ground floor available as an add-on* to the upper two floors. We do not rent this out on its own, which means all outdoor space, including the beach, will only be used by your group during your stay. Message us a request if you would like to reserve the studio as well.
Perfect for groups attending weddings at nearby local wedding venues.
BEDS 3 queen beds, 1 king bed, and 1 bunk bed (sleeps 1 adult or 2 children)
PRIVATE BEACH During May and early June, the Columbia River is typically higher due to snow melting in the mountains, so the private beach area is reduced.
The private beach area extends several hundred feet north of the property. We kindly ask that you do not walk south on the beach, as that area belongs to neighboring homes. The backyard and fire pit are available year-round and stocked with wood.
WATER ACTIVITIES & BOATING SAFETY Guests are welcome to enjoy the kayaks, canoe, and inflatable raft provided in the double car garage, including:
IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTICE: Guests use all boats and water equipment at their own risk. Life jackets are provided and must be worn while using the boats, as required by law. Please use caution, check weather and water conditions before going out. The river is tidally influenced so the water levels fluctuate up and down about 3 feet. Be careful not to leave items left unattended near the water line, and bring up the boats to higher ground above the rocks after use.
ADDITIONAL AMENITIES - Firewood for the outdoor fire pit - Keurig coffee maker with complimentary K-Cups - Filtered drinking water - High-powered spotting scope for viewing nearby osprey nests and other river wildlife - BBQ grill - Large Smart TV with Roku stick in the living room (local channels also available) - High-speed Wi-Fi

Brian is a wonderful host and was very communicative throughout the check in process. The house has everything you need to stay comfortably. There is even a binder with emergency information, directions for working items in the home, and day trip/things to do. Everything was as pictured and described! We had a wonderful experience and would recommend staying at this property!
Home was very clean, warm and beautifully decorated. Plenty of seating to accommodate our family for Christmas. The view was spectacular. Will book this again
Terrific property for our family vacation. Host was great. Timely and really excellent communication. Rooms were large and very comfortable. Kitchen was really well stocked. Just a great property for our needs.
The house was clean and functional. The check in process was smooth. It was located in a nice neighborhood, quiet area surrounding by farms and river. It's a great place to have family gathering and relax. I will definitely stay here again.
The house was fantastic and located right on the Columbia river. It is ideally located close by to Vancouver & Portland and a short trip away from the Pacific Norwhest coast.

Thanks Pascal. We enjoyed hosting you and your family. We are glad you enjoyed the area and hope your Ape Cave experience was fun. We appreciate how nice you left the home and how quick you were to respond to communication. We hope you consider staying with us again if you are back in the area.
You can't help but relax here! There are large picture windows with a lovely view of the Columbia River to enjoy repeated sightings of bald eagles. The fruit farms across the street add to the serenity. With private access to the water my husband enjoyed kayaking, meeting the largest seal he had ever seen! The house is low key and spacious, and close to conveniences and the highway. Brian was a great host. Would definitely recommend!
Property was exactly as summarized in the listing - it was clean, well-stocked, and very comfortable. Owner was very responsive when we had issues with the wi-fi. Firepit was a nice benefit, as was the proximity to the freeway and Walmart. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to visit again!
Check in was easy. The house was just like the pictures. We had everything we needed for cooking. The fire pit was great for ending the day with family. We had a family of 7 and there was plenty of space for everyone and two bathrooms on each floor was good for a group as well. The beds were comfortable and everyone slept well. The owner is responsive if you have questions and offered to come give us tips for the kayaks etc. We didn’t take him up on that just due to time but we did utilize his hike suggestions in his welcome book. We loved watching the eagles in the morning and the ships/boats traveling the river. We enjoyed our stay thoroughly and would definitely stay again!
I live close by but wanted a home on the water to celebrate my retirement. It was a great location with plenty of privacy and all the essentials we needed. The layout was great! It seemed like 3 master suites and a studio apartment below. The host accommodated the 6 of us that stayed the whole trip, but allowed us to have a larger group over to celebrate and BBQ and spend the day on the water! A great time was had by all!!!
I moved to Woodland back in 1996 and have enjoyed this area for many years. The ever-changing variety of views and recreational opportunities continue to attract me to this unique location. Finding creative ways to repurpose historic building materials has been one of my passions at this property.
Why they chose this property
The house's close proximity to Mt. St. Helens, Portland/Vancouver metro areas, and the Oregon Coast, offers a convenient location to reach all three places. The elbow room and woodsy privacy at the fire pit and beach provides the feeling of getting away without the long drive. Having dedicated bathrooms to each bedroom makes a family gathering very comfortable and convenient.
What makes this property unique
The views of the river, watching the eagles & ospreys fish, listening to the seals during smelt season & spotting an otter never gets old. A favorite pastime on rainy days is using marinetraffic.com to learn more about the large ships sailing by the home. The road next to the house is popular with bicyclists as you can do a loop and bike next to the Columbia River and the Lewis River. Edit
