This is an amazing place. Absolutely beautiful grounds and the river right behind. Huge decks that are outside each room. The host is awesome. They are very helpful and kind I could not ask for a better place to stay . We had a great time and I recommend this place to anyone !!

This property is one of the nicest places I've ever stayed, (and I've stayed in quite a few.) The cabin was absolutely spotless; the hosts, Jan and Jay, were very accommodating; the king bed was comfortable; the kitchen was well-stocked; and the AC worked well (we were there when it was in the 90s). We spent much of our time on the many decks just listening to the birds and watching wildlife. It was very quiet and peaceful. There is also a lovely bench by the river. We used this as a home base for visiting Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge, which is about 25 minutes away. Definitely recommend this property if you're looking for a serene getaway in the forest.

A truly special place with wonderful hosts!We had an absolutely fantastic stay and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Everything was perfect – the cabin, the beautiful and peaceful surroundings, and especially the warm hospitality.Jay and Jan were exceptional hosts. They were incredibly caring, communicative, and always made sure we had everything we needed. They also gave us some great recommendations and tips for places to visit and things to do in the area, which made our stay even more enjoyable.One of the sweetest parts of our stay was how welcoming they were with our children. The kids absolutely loved spending time and playing with their dog, Trip – it became one of their favorite memories from our vacation!The cabin and its location by the river are truly special, but it was Jay and Jan’s kindness and personal touch that made our stay unforgettable.We felt completely at home and would come back in a heartbeat. An absolute 10/10 – highly recommended, especially for families! Thank you, Jay and Jan, for such a wonderful stay!

We were in the area to climb Mt St Helen’s and it was a great hike with spectacular views. But the mountain was not the only highlight: we absolutely loved spending time in this amazing place. So beautifully presented, in a stunning location … we hope to return!

Woodland Cabin Stay July 2025

Everything was as advertised, actually better. The cabin is extremely well equipped, all you need to do is relax. Host is very knowledgeable of the are and instructions were clear. We loved our time here wish we could have stayed longer.

Lovely River Cabin!

This was an amazing property, even lovelier than the pictures. It's quiet and peaceful. There are several patios with awesome views of the river. The cabin is extremely clean and well kept. The owners are great, welcoming and even made delicious salmon dip. We can't wait to visit again!

Everything was great! Jan was a terrific host; gave us salmon dip & veggies upon arrival and kept unobtrusive care of us. Location was lovely, just above the river bank, quiet except for the sound of the river and very private. Hoping to return during warmer weather.

Beautiful cabin/house by the river

We stayed here for a few nights and really enjoyed every moment of it! The place has everything you need and comes with full facilities of a modern house. Beautiful outdoor sitting areas with views to the river complete the holiday vibes and relaxing experience. The hosts were extremely friendly and helpful as well!

Most beautiful home ever

We loved our stay so much. The view of the Lewis River and the sounds water running in the creek was amazing. We felt very welcomed and were given a nice fruit and dip platter. The history this land has is wonderful, we loved the old photos in the hallway. I would 100% recommend this home.

Woodland cabin

We all enjoyed our stay in this beautiful cabin surrounded by such beauty. We walked down to the river every morning. The views were spectacular!! The cabin had everything one would need and so adorable with so many extra special touches including the salmon dip and veggies awaiting our arrival. The hosts responded immediately and answered all our questions and gave us fun tips for activities on cooler weather. We can’t wait for another stay!!!

This cabin is absolutely amazing. Jan & Jay are great people and truly make you feel at home. I met Jan while in woodland Washington for my daughters volleyball tournament, that's when I was first told about the cabin. After seeing pictures I knew I had to stay. I can tell you that the pictures Do Not Do this cabin justice, Jay & Jay have their own little slice of heaven on the river. So if you're looking for a nice quite get away with breathtaking views this is the place for you.

Wonderful!!

This is the perfect place to experience peace in a natural setting. The cabin was immaculately clean, exceptionally appointed, and like new. A serene, private, and natural setting among mature forest, river, and birds. Long term residents of the area, Jay and Jan were welcoming, knowledgeable, and informative of the area, history, and attractions. We hope to be able to stay there again.

Peaceful riverside cabin

This riverside cabin is the perfect getaway location. Out of town by only 10 minutes and so peaceful. It’s surrounded by beautiful landscape and right above the Lewis river. The hosts greeted us upon arrival, showed us the cabin and even left us a special fruit cracker and salmon dip tray. From the cabin daily we were able to explore the surrounding areas quite easily. Portland is only 40 minutes away, Fishing, antique shops, scenic drives and wineries all nearby. Totally enjoyable stay!!

Lovely, Quiet, and Beautiful

The Lewis River flows by just outside the door of this marvelous house. The well-stocked kitchen (condiments! Sharp knives! Toaster!) was super nice to use, and stores are a short drive away in Woodland. The homemade salmon dip was amazing! The hosts were friendly and helpful and stayed out of our hair once we checked in. Highly rec.

Great place with a fantastic view

It is a really nice place, with a separate bunk-bed for the kids.Fully furnished kitchen for cooking instead of eating out.Has a bunch of games you can play on the enclosed porch while listening to the small creek that runs under the house.One thing that was not clear is there is a small bathroom (toilet and sink) for the master and a shared separate full bathroom in the hall.
