This is our second time staying here - it's quiet, comfortable and surrounded by beautiful scenery! There's a lot to explore in the surrounding area too. We'll be back!
Really enjoyed our stay. Plenty of space for the dog and very quiet location.

Cozy and relaxing
We enjoyed our stay at the Captain's Cabin with the beautiful sunrise in the mornings and lovely view of the water. Quick trip to the nearby beach area where we saw a seal swimming. We loved relaxing in the chairs around the fire pit and enjoying the breeze.

Nice A-frame with water views
Nice mid-sized cabin on a larger wooded lot, with nearby access to water (and oysters). Large fire ring with chairs, picnic tables, bbq grill, and basketball hoop. Kitchen is fairly well equipped and stocked. It was perfect for our family of four.

Comfortable cabin in beautiful setting
The cabin was super clean, comfortable and inviting and the quiet natural beauty all around was lovely! We really enjoyed our stay!
Great mid-sized cabin on a large wooded lot, close to beach access (with oysters, for those who enjoy them) and hiking trails. Even though there was a burn ban that prohibited campfires, our boys enjoyed making s'mores on the grill, exploring the woods, and playing basket ball in the driveway (bring a ball). Plenty of games and books. Internet and tv with streaming options. Kitchen was pretty well equipped/stocked. Everyone (including our dog) enjoyed our stay!
We stayed at the Captain's Cabin during a frosty arctic chill and it was everything cozy, with great views, and incredibly dog friendly, with dog towels, and dog blankets. We really enjoyed our stay.

nice and quiet get away
actually one of the few places that is pretty much as the photos show a d looks like someone actually cleans. beautiful view
We had a great time at the cabin. It was so nice to sit outside and look out over the water. The cabin has everything we needed. The bathtub was amazing. If we ever come back to Brinnon, this would be our place.
This property was a magical oasis. We enjoyed the secluded nature of the cabin (no shared or communal spaces) and the views were amazing.

Perfect stay!
Very peaceful relaxing setting. Kitchen is well equipped which was great for cooking dinners every night. My husband and I thought our bed was comfortable and the jet tub was an added bonus! Saw a lot of wild life: eagles, seals, elk! Highly recommend- great place to relax and unwind, especially after doing some hikes in the area.

Scenic and quite
Great cabin, all the amenities you need…plus a grill! The view of Dabob Bay was beautiful, plus an easy walk down to the bay for endless walking/rock picking. We were fortunate to have a pair of eagles nearby during our stay. Easy drives to a number of hiking locations.
My wife, Lisa and I go to someplace new on each anniversary. This year, it was to Whitney Point.
We enjoyed the Captain's Cabin very much. Thanks!

Magical Place to Stay
This home provided us with a peaceful vacation with all of the amenities! The jacuzzi tub is nice and big with plenty of room for two people. The view is unbelievable! The location is remote yet close to town. The quietness that we experienced was peaceful. There's an eagle nest nearby so they eagle's constantly fly by close. The hummingbirds enjoy the honeysuckle by the rock garden. Rabbits and deer frequent the property.
The rock garden is such a fun idea and we loved the activity! It's an easy walk down to the beach using the road to Whitney Point. We did not want to leave! Thank you for a wonderful stay!
I needed a quiet, safe comfortable place to unplug. This was perfect. I loved it and am thankful owners share this wonderful space.

Delighted at First Sight
We had a wonderful 2-night stay at Captains Cabin and are already thinking about a return visit. The home is beautiful, comfortable, and well appointed. We loved the seclusion and the view. We were treated to clear skies last night and a sunrise this morning. It was just two of us, but it will nicely accommodate four.
We had a lovely time in Brinnon. It's a great location for lots of activities. The house was comfortable and inviting - location was quiet and peaceful. We really enjoyed having the firepit and available wood for the evenings. The herons and bald eagles were so fun to watch. Thank you!
(There is a large yellow stain on the upstairs rug). It didn't bother us a bit but just wanted to let you know it didn't happen on our visit.)
I would love to visit again in the future.

Beautiful location and very nice cabin.
The cabin is in an awesome location on a bluff overlooking the Hood Canal and the amenities are very nice. If you are looking for peace and quiet, you will absolutely enjoy it. We used it as a launching point to visit Olympic National Park. We had a couple small issues but I would not let that deter you. The garbage receptacle on the side of the house was full upon our arrival so that created an issue and there were some dirty tablespoons in the drawer and a pair of womens pants lodged in to the corner of the couch. Nothing we couldn't handle... I would say a less than perfect job by the cleaning crew.

A true getaway!
I rented this cabin for a week to disconnect and recharge after a stressful winter. I invited some friends for part of my stay, and had a few days all to myself for some true quiet self-relfection time. This home is perfect for a couple, a family, or a small group of friends to have a lovely, intimate vacation together. It is also just right for one if that is what you are looking for. We had all the kitchen supplies we needed to make some delicious meals in the open concept main room. I loved that we could all be together meal prepping around the huge island while enjoying the view from any room in the house. The main bedroom feels very decadent with the huge jetted soaking tub with views of the trees behind the house, and connected bathroom with a tub/shower combo. The loft bedroom is open to the main room, so upstairs guests are greeted with a glorious sunrise show in the morning.
A nested pair of eagles have made their home within sight of the front yard, and we really enjoyed watching them with their youngster.
I truly have never stayed somewhere so quiet! I felt like I was the only person on earth as I sat with my coffee in the morning just staring out at the water, and watching the birds and clouds float by. This place gave me exactly what I needed for my spring recharge, thanks Captains Cabin!
The location was perfect for doing day hikes. The house itself is just the right size for two people and another couple. The view of the water was amazing with breathtaking sunrises. We brought our dog and was nice to be able to let her run around outside.
We just had a slight complaint with the cleanliness of the house. The general surface area was clean but it could have used a deeper clean. Floor was not clean under bed, tables etc. lots of hair in the main shower along with dirty windowsills and cobwebs. This did not take away from our vacation.
On a side note there are no glass wine glasses and not enough glasses in general if you had more than two people. However there was definitely a full kitchen with supplies.
The town closest had good general bar food but we’re not dog friendly in case you need that for your trip. In hindsight we should have brought food with us and cooked in the house. Thankfully it wasn’t hot out and we could leave our dog in car. The grocery store has all basics but small town price.

A lot to be desired
Communication with the host was challenging. We modified the length of our reservation on-line well in advance of checking in, but after a week, the details of our balance due did not show up. We place a call to Vacasa of Washington and waited for a lengthy time to speak with a representative to clear things up.
The cabin felt neglected.
We reported cleaning issues when we moved in....
Dinner plates were put away with food residues and evidence of mold. A few spoons were put in the drawer with water on them. Old dead flies were left on the window sills in the living room and bedroom. The TV remotes were dirty and sticky.
Other complaints:
There was no internet and no TV when we checked in. It took us a while to locate the problem-the router was unplugged for some reason. All the cutting knives and scissors were dull and needed sharpening. The cleanliness of skillets and kitchen utensils and drinking glasses were suspect-we cleaned everything before we use them. There was a prominent coffee station, but no coffee or tea anywhere to be found. Basket filters were provided, but the unit used cone filters. The coffee pot had used grinds from the previous renter. The dryer vent was very lint clogged under the removable filter. And a fly swatter would have been useful.
I have to admit the management offered to send a cleaning crew to take care of our issues, but we declined the offer. In the end, after checking out, we received a modest discount for our inconveniences.
