I'm delighted that you enjoyed your stay in the Studio. Hope you'll come back some time!
What an incredible experience to stay in the Studio! The views are breathtaking in all directions -- and give ample glimpses of the abundant wildlife on both water and land. The Studio is comfortable and spacious: mine was a solo stay, but the space could easily have accommodated more and was well-appointed for hosting several gatherings. Wendy is a hostess par excellence: communication was always fast and easy, and she made sure my stay was comfortable and very pleasant. I hope very much to return!

Sarah, I'm glad that you enjoyed your stay. Marian and I were very happy to get to know you and hope to see you when you return to Cushing--or maybe in California. Hope your course goes well. With best wishes,
Wendy
Property was everything we hoped for, and more. Wonderful, quiet and private setting right on the St George River. It was like living inside an Andrew Wyeth painting. We had access to our own beach and boating facilities. The cottage was comfortable and well-equipped -- kitchen, wood stove, and a charcoal grill setup identical to the one I use at home! My wife and canine pal had a wonderful two weeks.

The location was amazing! We lucked out with great weather the whole time we were there.
We were thrilled with the location of The Studio! It was exactly what we needed and hoped for. We didn't want to leave for daily excursion, due to the view! The Host was responsive and thorough. I read two books and gathered sea glass daily. We all went swimming in the ocean! And Yes, it was bloody freezing and we're all glad that we took the leap and jumped in. We will definitely return. My extended stay at the “Studio” on Stone’s Point, at the end of the season, was peaceful and beautiful. The weather was cool, crisp, colorful and costal Autumn New England. Experiencing the range of weather from calm, brilliant days with blue skies, to dark, threatening clouds and howling winds was exhilarating. I did not see another soul on the “point” during my stay. The privacy and stunning beauty are salve for the soul. Working the wood stove on the chilly Autumn days was enjoyable and kept the rustic studio very cozy. Sitting at the table, by the 10’ by 7’ picture window presented an ever changing scenery of Coastal charm. The stay was definitely the relaxing visit I was looking for.

So glad that you enjoyed your stay at the Studio on Stones Point. September and October are wonderful months to be in on the coast in Maine. Being on a point, the only traffic one sees are lobstermen, sailboats and the occasional yacht!
Beautiful views of water and meadows from every door and window. The ‘cabin like’ studio is in a secluded location but it felt secure. Here, one can get away from it all and yet be within 15 minutes off Route 1. This made it easy to enjoy day trips to many key points of southern mid-Maine.
The studio has everything a small family (2-3) needs. The well equipped kitchen was very convenient to cook up some delicious Maine feasts, think lobsters. Two loft rooms, one very small, were sufficient for bed. The single main room had a big dining table, ample seating and comfy couches.
We enjoyed exploring the rocky beach for shells and beach glass.
Wendy was gracious and helpful. She even went the extra mile and accommodated a personal special request.
We enjoyed our vacation in Cushing and booked for next year.
Thank you Wendy.

Dirty, no door locks, animal traps
We drove over 5 hours to stay here, when arriving no doors had locks, you could not lock your belongings when leaving for the day or lock yourself in when sleeping. White walls all covered in dust/dirt, pull out sofas with white covers that were covered in dirt. Laundry in basement with large animal traps and rat traps. We had to leave and did not stay, voiced our concerns about locks and cleanliness, still no refund??? I would not stay here or recommend anyone stay here.

This renter had to leave before spending a night because of a family emergency. I have already sent to Home Away a response to all of his complaints, made originally in August in order to obtain a refund to which he was not entitled according to the Home Away policy. I have already sent Home Away photos of all the doors and screen doors showing inside locks. Nothing was dirty in the house. He had photos of the inside of the house from the Home Away website and additional photos that I sent him. All of this information and our numerous e-mail exchanges have already been submitted to Home Away.
In addition, this renter has had his debit card company make a chargeback against my bank account, which I have contested.
I would not recommend that any property owner rent to him.
This is the first complaint we have had concerning this property in the forty years that we have rented it. There are positive reviews on the Home Away website.
We try to visit Maine at least twice a year. Stones Point is our ideal picture of "Maine." There is space to breathe there. Inside, the studio works its magic, like a massage for the body and soul. While outside, connecting with the daily rhythms of the water, sun , moon, birds, night sky, and the steady work of the lobster boats nurtures a sense of peace and belonging.
Although it is tempting to stay put for the whole visit, we ventured out to our other favorite Maine spots: Hiking Camden hills trails, Belfast, Hello,Hello Books in Rockland, Food co-ops in Belfast and Damariscotta. Bookstores and food Co-ops... that's our thing it seems. We discovered Camden and Brooklin (Naskeag Point)this trip.
We thank you, Wendy for the welcoming hospitality, clear information, and timely response to our questions.
Our experience was rejuvenating, just what we were looking for.
Warmly,
Roy, Elisabeth (and of course, Daisy, the Pug- she loved it!)

My husband and I came to the cottage for our honeymoon 12 years ago and brought our boys back to see it for our anniversary. It was such a special place in our heart and it lived up to our memories . It’s such a spectacular location and it has everything you need for a restful and relaxing vacation. Wendy is a wonderful host and makes sure you have everything you need. We hope to make trips to this special place a family tradition. Thank you for sharing it with us.
We had an amazing week doing nothing but reading, writing and relaxing. It's rare to find a spot that is so private and close to the water. And that allows dogs! We will definitely be returning. Thanks Wendy and Tim for a wonderful stay!

This property is incredibly special! My husband and dogs had the best week in the Studio. It was our first trip to Maine, and it has officially stolen our hearts. Being so close to the soft waves and sea breeze was a dream. The Studio is a equipped with anything you could need, we loved using the wood stove to make our evenings extra cozy. Thank you to Wendy and her family for sharing this special place with us, and being such a gracious host. We cannot recommend this place enough!

Charming house with panoramic views: hidden gem of the Maine waterfront
Tucked away on the appropriately named Pleasant Point is a charming house on the picturesque shores of St. George’s River. I stayed here for a little over a week, and it is one of the most beautiful places I have stayed. The historic house was clearly built with care, with unique craftsmanship and large windows that look out over the landscape. I spent many afternoons wandering around the property, painting in the fields and surrounding nature trails. Wendy, who is warm and polite, set a positive and relaxed tone for my stay. She was respectful of my privacy, but always available if I had any questions. I am counting down the days until I can return to this very special house. It is the best that Maine has to offer.
I vacation in the Cushing area of Maine every year because of the natural beauty. This property is perfect for me. The location is breathtakingly beautiful and the peace and quiet provides an environment to take it all in and experience the best of Maine.
Wendy is a kind and gracious host. She is always available if you need anything, although I never needed a thing - the cottage was perfect. I wouldn't change a thing.
Thank you Wendy!
