About the host

My husband, Scott, and I have raised 6 daughters on the farm. We are family oriented, so it seemed only natural that we wanted to create a place where many fun memories could be made. All of the land that you can see is Brege land and we are so proud of it and so humbled by the blessings it has provided. In the past couple of years, we have been able to bring The Old House back to its former glory and with the help of Scott's sister and brother-in-law, Moltke Maize Maze was born! It is a corn maze that is right across the road in the fall. We hope our home gives you the same warm fuzzies it gives us and we truly hope you create lifetime memories just as we have.

Why they chose this property

As my husband's family had been farming for about 70 years when we got married, it seemed only right that we continue the tradition. Scott bought this property before we were married and it is what I came "home" to as a new wife. All of our children were raised here until we moved to the "main farm" in 2007. As our children are all grown and starting families of their own, we realized that this house holds so many cherished memories and in 2021, we started the process to bring the love back to it. Through countless donated hours of friends and family (not to mention our own), The Old House was brought back, even better, to the cozy little home we knew. And if you're wondering about the name of The Old House, it was a nickname the kids gave it when we moved to the main farm to differentiate between the two houses. It has been, and always will be The Old House....but in the most charming and loving of ways. We truly want OUR home to be YOUR home when you're away. Don't be afraid to flop on the couch and munch a bag of chips......don't worry about dirt being tracked in on muddy feet. Having 6 daughters in 8 1/2 years that are now grown and starting their own stories has taught us that time is but fleeting and meant to be enjoyed. So go ahead!!! Leave those crumbs and track those dirt piles in!!! Make as many memories while you can. They'll be time later for vacuums and brooms.

What makes this property unique

As you can obviously tell when you arrive, The Old House sits on many acres of farmland. The quietness and peacefulness fills your soul without you even realizing it. The 360 degree view from the top of the rolling hills is a hard one to beat. Warm, orange sunsets setting over fragrant hay fields with cotton candy clouds in the background cannot be rivaled. When you are here, time seems to stand still. When you are here, there is time to smell the roses. When you are here, you can play kickball outside until the crickets sing. When you are here, the sound of birds chirping and the wind through the grass becomes the lullaby you didn't know you were missing. When you are here, doors can be left unlocked and neighbors stop by for visits. When you are here, you are home! So, welcome! Welcome home to The Old House. :)
