About this property

Lake Huron Hideaway - Relax and Connect

The Huron Hideaway sits in tall pines, less than a block away from Lake Huron, just outside of Rogers City, Michigan. We are dedicated to providing everything you need for an enjoyable stay. The house has high quality linens and bath products (Malin+Goetz), a gas stove and oven, stainless steel cookware, gas fireplace, and record players upstairs and downstairs, with a curated selection of vinyl, books, and movies. Outside is a custom-built fire pit, along with a grill and hammock. It's the perfect place to relax and connect.

The area is fascinating. Lighthouses and shipwrecks, and miles of public trails, beaches, and paved paths, are accessible just outside the door. A nationally acclaimed apple orchard and cidery is nearby, as is the largest public waterfall in the lower peninsula (Ocqueoc Falls). Rogers City is six miles away, charming, with lovely shops, restaurants, parks, and our favorite cafe.

We have dogs and travel with them. We know how important it is to have a safe vacation space for your dogs, and the Hideaway has been designed with that in mind. The backyard is enclosed with a fence, so your dog can enjoy off-leash vacation time. We provide dog food and water bowls for your use, along with eco-friendly pick-up bags, should you need them.

Please note that, due to the location of the Hideaway, there is no internet or cable television, and cell service is limited. Many of our guests welcome the "off-line" environment and appreciate the opportunity to connect with one another. We have a land line phone for your use.

Happy Travels!!

About the host

Hosted by Monica

Host profile image
We, Steve and Monica, are both originally from Rogers City. We attended school together and were high school sweethearts. Over the course of the next 20+ years, we lived in cities all over the country, including New York and Chicago, and (at long last) married in 2014. We now reside in Northern Michigan with our three beloved rescue dogs and cherish our role as hosts for visitors from around the world. We hope you enjoy the Hideaway as much as we do!

Why they chose this property

The Hideaway property has been in Monica's family for decades. We renovated the house and added modern touches, while still maintaining the home's mid-century charm. We look forward to sharing the Hideaway and the unparalleled natural beauty of the area with our guests.
