This is the best VRBO property. Dave and Diane really go above and beyond to make sure your stay is just like being with family. Location is great. The cabin is well appointed, clean with lots of necessities available
Really great stay and great host who went out of their way to make our time relaxing and stress free. Would definitely rerun to this specific cabin and recommend it to others. It was super easy to cook since basic spices and paper towels and other thigg bc s were provided
Believe the reviews! Everything is spot on. Dave and Diane were amazing hosts—truly prepared to meet any need or request. Loved their periodic check ins to make sure everything was as it should be. We loved the close proximity to downtown Estes Park, close access to RMNP, and the ease of driving to other great spots like Granby, Winter Park, Golden and Denver! Only regret—not staying longer or bringing our kids!
The Cabin on the Rocks was the perfect place for our vacation in the Rockies. Dave and Diane are such wonderful hosts--they have thought of everything. It was super cozy and homey. I particularly enjoyed coffee on the deck in the morning, watching the sunrise over the mountains, while my teen slept in (the beds were comfy). The hot tub was the cherry on top.
Great hosts who made everything easy, labeled everything, sought to make us comfortable. Cabin is close to town and RMNP and is quite peaceful. Hot tub was a great bonus.Guest book and gift was a nice addition
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Estes Park thanks to our hosts Dave & Diane. They have thoughtfully curated a wonderful cabin experience. We appreciated their attention to detail and great communication. We hope to be back soon!
Highly recommend this host! Dave was so nice and give us a heads up on weather, the stores that were open etc. very clean cabin with everything we needed including a hot and washer!! Made our stay even more pleasurable! Not to mention it was close to a bunch of activities and the Rocky Mountains only about a 8 minute drive to where we wanted to go!
This cabin was simply perfect. You have everything you need with beautiful views of the mountains in the backdrop. Communication with the owner/property management was great. It was a great stay Ana’s can’t wait to come back again. Having a drink at the Stanley was cool. I’m not into doing touristy things, but this was a must!!!
Overall, a great little cabin with attentive and responsive hosts. Beautifully remodeled and decorated with a great deck and brand new hot tub in a quiet neighborhood. We appreciated the well stocked kitchen with snacks and K-cups as well as the plentiful supply of towels and bathmats. My only complaint is that the steam washer with the "drying" feature was really only good for an occasional small load of laundry, not the massive amount of dirty laundry my son brought home from summer camp. I wish I had known that in advance. If you don't need to do laundry during your trip, this is a fabulous cabin to stay at. The hosts did everything they could to help us during our stay and respond to any issues that came up. They even let us check out late on our departure day. Thanks for a great stay!
We came to Estes Park to hike and enjoy the scenery. If you are searching for a property, please stop searching and book this immediately. The hosts were amazing with instructions and communication. I’ve never had a better experience. The beds were comfortable, the cabin was super clean, there were plenty of towels and coffee and snacks, and the view off the back deck was unforgettable. 10/10 would come again and book the cabin on the rocks!
My son and his new wife stayed here for their honeymoon and had a fabulous time. The views are beautiful and the hosts were amazing. We loved the entire experience. Would highly recommend!
Our family just spent Spring Break at this cabin and had the best time. You're up on the mountain but stillclose to everything. The beds were comfy, the hot tub was relaxing. We loved everything about it and will look to book again the next time we're in Estes Park.
We had a lovely time with our weekend getaway for our anniversary! Dave and Diane were wonderful hosts, checking in on us for whatever we might need! The neighborhood is quiet, the cabin cozy and welcoming, and the hot tub was divine. The elk herd dropping by while we enjoyed the hot tub was a nice treat as well. Thanks so much for having us!
This was everything we were hoping for. The cleanest rental I have ever been in. We had prompt and clear communication from the owners. They left thoughtful and personal surprises knowing it was an anniversary trip. Exactly as advertised.
This was our sixth stay at Cabin on the Rocks and always it was a wonderful respite from daily life. Dave and Diane couldn't be better hosts. The back deck and hot tub are certainly the stars of the show; but the cleanliness, the location, and the personal touches are what keep us coming back. Already looking forward to our next trip to beautiful Estes Park!
We had a relaxing stay. The cabin had more conveniences than we expected and close to all the sites. Dave was attentive to any of our requests or recommending anything during our stay. Thank you!!
Very cozy, fantastic communication with the owners. Perfect for a couple get away. 4 adults might be tight.

About the host

We have been married over 43 years. We have 2 adult children, a wonderful son-in-law and two beautiful granddaughters. We have 2 fur babies, an Akita and a yorkie. The yorkie of course rules the house. We moved to Estes Park in 1998. Dave's family was the original owners of Peaceful Valley. The chapel on the side of the Mountain was a memorial for his grandfather, Paul Boehm. Dave and I were married in that chapel. We enjoy camping, hiking, fishing, family time and of course Bronco Football.
