Really lovely cottage in a beautiful location. Hosts were very helpful and friendly. We had a lovely week swimming & playing in the warm, shallow waters of the river.
We spent a wonderful week here. The location is great, and we enjoyed the sandy beach. Being a cottage, there are some rustic aspects, but it was comfortable and the wifi worked great.
We had a relaxing time at the cottage. The owners were very helpful, and the cottage is well stocked for all your needs. The fishing was alot of fun, although we would recommend beach shoes due to the clams. The sunsets are amazing! Such a quiet spot, but yet close to activities like white water rafting, the Bonnechere caves, and any shopping necessities. A lovely spot for a family vacation.
Kevin and laurie were excellent hosts who are kind and friendly and made our stay feel warm and welcome. Cottage was excellent and sunsets were amazing. Definitely would go again.
It’s a nice and cozy place, the owners were such an amazing couple and they lived right next door. There were a lot of water toys to enjoy and the sunset was surreal. Thank you for hosting us will visit again soon :)
We had an amazing stay! The cottage is very nice, clean & spacious. Lovey outdoor area with lots of seating & grill. The beach is just steps away & the water was so warm. The sunsets were absolutely stunning. I would 100% recommend this place & would go here again. The hosts were super friendly welcoming people.
The sunset from the deck is amazing, the beach is phenomenal, the water toys were enjoyed by all! Beds were comfortable, all amenities were supplied. Kevin and Laurie were easy to speak with and awesome support!
Great Beach, Tight squeeze for more than 3-4 people
Great beach, long shallow entry with few weeds. Beautiful sunsets. Cottage very clean, reasonably well stocked. Although cottage technically sleeps 8, the common spaces are really crowded if you have more than 4 people. Also, there is a flood berm between cottage and beach that is not shown in photos so not quite as picturesque as in photos. That said we had a good time and hosts were very responsive.
Had a wonderful time. Kevin and Laurie were outstanding hosts! Beach and sunsets were amazing. Cottage was impressively well stocked and impecably clean. Only surprise was that the bathroom did not have a sink but we set up a washbasin stand using a 20L camping water jug with a spout, a dish pan and soap. Worked great. Everyone had so much fun. Thanks Kevin & Laurie.
The beach is so shallow entry you will likely give up walking before you get much past your waist. But the water is warm and the sand is soft (beware the clams), and the river seemed deserted during the week. The water toys and equipment provided by the hosts were more than enough to keep my older kids entertained. Lots to do in the area - especially loved the Bonnechere Caves. The cottage itself is cute and has everything you need. The living quarters would be tight for more than four people, I think.
Kevin and Laurie have been wonderful hosts. The cottage was spotless, with a lot of new modern touches. Sunsets are amazing, and we were lucky to be there post-season, so not sure how busy the beach gets during the summer. Water was very shallow. Great and safe for families with small children, but if you expecting to jump into the water this is not your location (at no fault to Laurie and Kevin!) This cottage met our goals and gave us the opportunity to unwind and relax!
We stayed for a week at the end of august and had a great time. There was enough space for 3 adults and 4 kids ages 7 to 13 and fur kids. The cottage was fully stocked with almost anything you can think of and well cared for. The beach is very shallow very far out, the kids loved that and all the equipment we could borrow for water activities was a great plus. We went fishing most mornings with the kayaks and canoe and caught lots of different fish. Perch, Blue gill, bass, pickerel....cat fish lol. Kevin and Laurie were very helpful and informative, best fishing spot, cheapest grocery store, etc. Highly recommend a stay here. Also don't forget to bring water shoes, theres clams and the shells can be sharp if you happen to step on one.
This property was recently renovated and is very clean. It accommodates 8 but is tight.
The water in right out front is very shallow for a quite a way. Would be fantastic for small children. Some minor renovations are still in progress but overall I’d give this place and the location another visit.

About the host
Hosted by Kevin & Laurie Bowman
Hi, we are Laurie and Kevin Bowman. I am a newly retired RN. I worked for 37 years in NICU in London Ontario and I so miss the babies 😊. My husband, Kevin, worked as a professional event photographer, but now works part time blowing in spray foam insulation. We have 2 sons who are presently in college. We are “valley friendly” people and just want to make your holiday great!
Why they chose this property
This property is right on the BEACH! The water is shallow and warm with NO undertow to worry about, perfect for young families. The area is very QUIET. The cottage is on a private road so there is very little traffic. Also the water is between rapids upriver and downriver therefore next to no boat traffic. On a busy summer weekend there might be 8 people on the beach and you might see a pontoon boat go by! It’s very peaceful. The cottage has been newly renovated so everything is new and modern. We also supply the wood for the campfire and propane for the BBQ.
What makes this property unique
We have lots of toys! We have 2 standup paddle boards, 2 kayaks, 2 canoes, 2 boogie boards, a windsurfer, a HUGE floating mat and multiple floating boards. The cottage has games, puzzles and books for the whole family to enjoy.
