About this property

5 minutes to the beach! Family friendly Sea Colony beach condo

Our condo has a master bedroom (1 queen), guest bedroom (2 twins), a den with a sleeper sofa and a closable pocket doors to make it a 3rd bedroom, a loft with 3 twin beds and two full baths.. The unit has a Washer/Dryer, dishwasher, electric stove/oven, microwave, disposal, coffee maker and other basic kitchen equipment. Utilities are included as well as free wi-fi throughout and cable TV. Several of our outlets have USB ports for phone charging. We have included several kid friendly items including a booster seat, pack n'play, training potty, portable bed rail, toys, games, and books.

Our condo is on the West Side of the Sea Colony property which is ~0.5 miles to the private beach. The Sea Colony has 3 trams that take tenants from the West Side to the beach side. It's about a 5-10 min ride and there is a tram stop right outside the condo. The tram runs all day at very frequent intervals (there is an app you can download to follow the tram). There are several outdoor pools in the community including one that is a 2 min walk away from the condo. There are 2 indoor pools (one in Edgewater house on the beach side and one in the fitness center about 5 min from our condo on the West Side) for rainy days. The tennis facility is about an 8 min walk from the condo. There are several playgrounds and tennis/pickleball courts around the property. The town of Bethany is less than 1 mil from Sea Colony and has a boardwalk, restaurants, mini golf, etc. There is a small shopping center about 0.5 mil from the condo with restaurants, surf shop, ice cream shop, and bike rental.

THINGS TO KNOW Note:
The Sea Colony Recreational Association requires a per person resort fee for guests ages four years old and older. This fee varies by time of year and is mandatory to access the pools, recreation facilities AND the Sea Colony private beach. For the 2023 Season Guest Badge Fees are:

These fees are NOT included in the leasing amount to VRBO. You pick up and pay for the guest passes upon arrival.

A lease agreement will be sent within 24 hours of booking and an electronic signature is required before final check-in information is made available.

Parking notes: Two unassigned parking spaces are available on a first-come-first-served basis with badge purchase. Vehicles must not be taller than six feet, including roof-top carriers.

The host requires you to complete the following before checking out:
Load the dishwasher
Strip any used beds and gather used towels
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
Please pull the sheets off the beds you used and put them along with the dirty towels in the main bathroom bathtub. Please leave pillows and bed covers on the beds
Please put all game/toy/puzzle pieces are put back together and return them to their correct places (it’s no fun playing with a toy that’s missing a piece!!)
If you spill something on the furniture/carpet – please try to clean it up before it stains - cleaning supplies are under the kitchen sink.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.

We always enjoy our stays at Sea Colony and we particularly enjoyed our stay this year. The house is clean and comfortable and our kids loved the toys in the house, especially the train set. Great location close to bus and tram stops. We will be back next summer!

We had a good stay - the house is spacious and well equipped. The property is great for families with lots of nearby amenities from Sea Colony including a pool just a few steps from the house. The home is basic but has everything you need. Beds were not very comfortable but other than that we enjoyed our stay!

Great condo with amazing amenities!

My family and I really enjoyed staying at this property. It’s the perfect place for a vacation especially with all of the amenities of sea colony. There were a bunch of pools to choose from and the tram and buses made getting around effortless (and fun!). Jennifer was very easy to get in touch with and she kept the condo very clean- even had board games available. We will definitely be back!

Peace and relaxation

We love the Sea Colony community. Trips to the beach using the tram is convenient and nice. The kids also loved biking (Weekly bike rental is the best value). The access to several different pools including the ones at the hotel was a plus. Recommend staying here while vacationing at Bethany Beach. Communication with the property owner was great. She takes pride in her unit.

Disappointed

Unit was dirty. Garbage under the bed, ceiling fan was dirty and hadn’t been cleaned in a very long time. We did not use it as a result. Dirt on walls, grime on appliances, sand on bathroom floors. Had to change the sheets before bed because there was sand between the sheets so appeared they had not been washed. Dishes were put away still wet and some not clean. The deck was dirty, lots of debris, not as shown in the picture. The fridge leaked water onto the kitchen floor when the ice maker was used. We had to place a towel in the bottom to keep from having to clean up the floor during our stay. Our son arrived an hour or so early, the cleaning service told him it would be ready in 30 minutes. He returned to drop off his things, left to go fishing and we were charged an early check in fee. The owner said cleaning svc is not authorized to allow an early check in. That is not our fault, should have been taken up with the cleaning service. towels were still in the dryer with a note from cleaning svc to feel free to use the additional towels (which we didn’t need, there were only 4 of us). We were then charged for use of extra linens. We only used the towels that were left out for us. 20 years we’ve stayed at Sea Colony, this is the first time we’ve had a problem. This was a disappointment.

Great location and sq footage. Needs some TLC

We stayed at the property for five days. This is part of the Sea Colony community (Which is excellent btw). Property was close to a pool and a tram pick up spot. There were seven of us ranging in ages from 3 on up. We selected the property due to its size and ability to hold all of us. This was certainly one of the larger properties in the community and the family had no issues with space. There was plenty of it! The property is a little outdated and due for some overall maintenance. This seems to be a common theme across many of the Sea Colony communities though. Our washer completely bit the dust. The host was responsive in working to order a replacement, but unfortunately plumbing and logistic issues won out and it wasn't there by the time we left. Our suggested recourse was that there was a laundromat a mile away, which unfortunately left a bad impression. With seven of us, we struggled a bit to reserve clean clothes. Overall the vacation was fine, but if we ever go back, we would explore other properties. We would stick with the same community though. They seem to have a strong foot hold in this area and are certainly worth the money.

Wonderful getaway

We love Bethany Beach and this condo at Sea Colony made our trip even better! The condo was clean, designed for comfort and entertaining a family. Included a large dining table, lots of games,, an outdoor area to eat and a den for kids to play/hang out. It is close proximity to everything in sea colony with the tram right outside or an easy walk to the beach. Plus, the owner was responsive and available for questions throughout to ensure a great stay. Thank you and we’ll be back next summer!
