The property is very nice, very clean, very quiet and pleasant. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils and pots and pans. The bed is comfortable, and the view from the kitchen table looking out over the lake is beautiful. We hate to leave!
Great location right on the lake! We had a great time fishing, canoeing and paddle boating all week! The cabin has everything you need and it very cute inside. My husband is already talking about coming back next year.
We had a great stay with amazing weather in May! We fished off the dock, enjoyed kayaking on the quiet lake and relaxing by the fire! Would book again!
My boyfriend, Rosie (our 8 yr old Rottweiler German shepherd mix) and I had an AMAZING week long stay at North Padre cabin! Rosie recently got a terminal diagnosis and this trip was exactly what we needed. This week Rosie did not have a cancerous mass on her spleen. This week she was a puppy chasing squirrels and swimming laps around the dock. I will forever be grateful that we found Rachel and her clean, quiet, lovely cabin. Oh and the water was incredibly clear!
This place is definitely worth it. The view is amazing, and they have so much to offer so you can properly enjoy the lake. Great place to go if you need time away from it all.
The only reason I would say don't go here is because I want to go back... And not have a crowd. Was very good, but ya need to know it's one bedroom. Not a problem, although there are options for others to sleep. Need to add an additional step in back.
Property is very cozy and well furnished. The lake was very beautiful in late October and having a canoe to paddle was great for a lake this size. I’d definitely go back again anytime of year.
We had a blast at the Refuge! We loved canoeing on the lake, watching the wildlife and relaxing by the fire. The refuge had a ton of books and toys my 5 year old and 10 month old loved!
We really enjoyed staying here for the night. Cozy - the wood stove was nice and warm! - and really clean. We’d definitely come back again.

Very quiet and secluded location. We enjoyed falling snow, time by the wood stove, the large windows overlooking the lake and an overall cozy atmosphere.
Loved our time here! Very clean, beautiful property, we just had a great time. Our host was very kind and quick to respond to my messages. They made it a great experience!
This property is beautiful and the location is amazing and literally could not ask for a nicer place to stay. Everything is provided for any activity you could dream of and the location on the lake is so isolated and relaxing. We will definitely stay here again if we ever get the chance!
We loved the seclusion here, the beautiful cabin and surrounding yard. The love of christ that is abundant here. The house was so fully stocked with essentials it made it feel like home
