About the host
Hosted by Mitch Goldman
My parents bought this property in the early 60's: They were both teachers and had summers free to live in Maine. As a result I vacationed and summered in the area for my whole childhood life. I held jobs in the blueberry business both raking by-hand and on a farm co-op receiving and transfer station. I grew to appreciate the abundant wildlife and natural beauty that this site and the surrounding area had to offer. I learned that Acadia National Park is the only National Park in the North East. By day, if it wasn't blueberry season yet, I swam in the lake, read (you'll have tv and internet), hiked or biked down the dirt road or just generally communed with nature. The Owls, Loons, Toads and Cicadas are a nightly symphony.
Now I bring the kids back to do the same. They love to wander on the dirt road, swim, kayak, play ping pong, and air-hockey, and have the nightly campfire and s'mores. All on a quiet and private 4-acre lake-front site.
Why they chose this property
Lake-front site across a dirt road from 100's of acres of Blueberry field. It is a great location with relatively easy access to Ellsworth, Bangor (I-95), Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park (ANP) and the less-crowded but still spectacular Schoodic Peninsula section of ANP. Please contact me if you have any questions.
