great place to stay, only complaint was that the metal train car kinda messes with cell phone signals, but so much fun to stay there!

We always thought the giant metal caboose would act like an antenna and make cell signals better, but you are right, it does mess with them. We have found that getting on the wifi network and enabling wifi calling helps. Glad you had a fun trip!
We loved our stay at The Caboose! It was such a fun and unique place to stay — clean, cozy, and full of charm. The setting was peaceful, and the attention to detail made it feel really special. Perfect for a quick getaway or a weekend adventure. Would definitely stay again!

The Red Caboose was a very fun & unique rental. Super clean & well equipped. The host, John, is super responsive. Would stay again! Great location, close to so many outdoor activities.
Caboose was great. Host communicated well. We loved it! There were games, extra blankets (THANK YOU!), starter coffee, and the entire caboose was super cute. Location could not have been better.
Had a great time in caboose and white water rafting! Very convenient to all activities and food was great at next door grill! The band was a bonus! Super fun’
No complaints for our stay. We visit the area yearly so we’re familiar with town and activities. Location was great. Kids thought the caboose was quirky and fun
Check In was a breeze. Location is ideal. My 4 y/o loved staying inside of a “choo choo”. The caboose was clean and the oversized Connect 4 game was a great pass time for the kids. The only reason I didn’t give an overall 5 stars is because the master bed and the couch were very uncomfortable. Other than that, we enjoyed it immensley.
Great location, close to Fayetteville and the bridge. Key code door lock made check in a breeze, and no extra key to carry or lose. Super clean, nice patio area with chairs, picnic tables, grill, and fire pit. "Our House" restaurant and pub right next door, owned by the same folks, and within stumbling distance ;). Live music on the weekends may not be everyone's cup of tea, still pretty loud, even inside the accommodations.
Caboose was clean & a nice place to stay for a couple nights while visiting the New River Gorge. Would recommend to others staying in the area with 1 or 2 young children especially if you plan to go white water rafting with Cantrell Ultimate Rafting. They are right next door.
Our little family was looking for a unique experience while traveling to National Parks. This place was the perfect little retreat. Its just off the beaten path, but also close to anything and everything you could need or want to explore. The host was always quick to respond and gave us a ton of things to check out with our tiny adventurer. We had a wonderful experience and it was just what we were looking for.
We loved staying for a short stay as a family of 4. Lots of little extras like outdoor jenga for teens to have fun with. Only area for improvement is a better pull out coach for sleeping a 4th person but perfect for 2 adults and 1 kid. Definitely a fun experience.
We can’t wait to come back to the caboose! It was absolutely perfect for our weekend rafting get away. Easy to find, clean, and in the perfect location. Host was super helpful with food and hiking suggestions and Cantrell Rafting took us on what might be our favorite trip to date. Perfection!
The caboose was right next to Cantrell rafting which was great we were able to walk over for our rafting trip. There was a really good discount coupon for the sxs rides at Midland outdoor Adventure and Audie was absolutely fabulous ! The caboose was very clean and the owner was the best!
Took my mom on a road trip vacation, and this was our first nights stay. She was stunned when we pulled up. She couldn't believe we were staying in a caboose. She loved it!
My 14-year-old son and I very much enjoyed our stay in the Caboose! This was our third trip to Fayetteville, and staying in the Caboose made it extra-special. The loft was his “room,” while I enjoyed the room with the double bed. Everything was very clean, and we appreciated all of the amenities. The kitchenette was fully stocked with a small fridge, microwave, sink, dishes/silverware, and keurig coffee maker. The smart tv was exactly what my teen was looking for, and the outdoor space was great! It’s minutes from the best that Fayetteville has to offer. We didn’t go rafting on this trip, but Cantrell’s is literally in your backyard, if you stay here. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
My son and I loved the C & O caboose for our 2 night stay to break up our trek up north. It was comfortable and perfect for seeing the New River Gorge Bridge and whitewater rafting. The bed was comfortable and the kitchenette had everything we needed during our stay. The shower was surprisingly large. While we didn’t have a chance to make use of the outside space, it will be nice to have the fire pit and sitting areas & cornhole boards for future visits. Accessing the caboose was simple and easy.
This is just what you expect from the photos. Fits a family of 3. Location is close to everything in the area. Cute decor and almost everything you can ever need when staying away from home. Great communication with John, the host. Futon not the most comfortable to sleep on. Hard to figure out what to keep the temp on before it gets too hot or cool with the place being so small.
The caboose is undersold by its current pics and description. The in unit heaters were ample to keep us cozy with the chilly nights, And ample blankets and fire pit tools were on hand, which made our campfire super easy to enjoy. Shower is good pressure and smartly designed to maximize space. Smart TV with many streaming apps to use (some already signed in, e.g., Tubi with ads).Coffee K cups provided but machine also has standard filter for brewing large pots. Couch i) s a futon convertible if needed. Cupola/loft is more of a one person (my son is age 10) space, but all the kids will certainly fight to stay up there ;) We were 5-10 min drive from every trail/site/restaurant we wanted. Didn't get a chance to use the Cantrell kitchen/bar on the weekend since off season, but it was just in your backyard.
The C&O caboose was a great space for our family getaway! The weather was beautiful so we spent a lot of time outside. I enjoyed watching lightning bugs and deer from beside the fire pit and we ate most of our meals outside on the patio. My 6 year old LOVED the loft because it was "his" space in the train.
It is located 5 minutes from town and also convenient to all sorts of hiking and climbing locations. We recommend Pies & Pints, Freefolk Brewery and The Handle Bar for food/drinks and Cathedral Falls, Endless Wall trail and Fayette Station River Access for exploring.
The caboose was just what we needed. It was a unique stay next to Cantrell rafting. We stayed and walked over for our rafting adventure. The second bedroom is a loft in the top of the caboose - kids loved it.
