Beauty & Comfort in the Berkshires
We are frequent VRBO users and this was one of our most comfortable and easy stays. The property and house are beautiful and located on a very pretty cul de sac. House is very convenient to downtown Great Barrington shops and restaurants. House is very well equipped with kitchen and bathroom supplies. Lots of room for everyone to spread out and enjoy in the multiple family room / den areas. Our host, Rob, was extremely responsive and helpful. Would definitely return to this house for a family or friend vacation!

Exceeded expectations
We had 7 adults and 3 children for our stay and the house was bigger and better than the listing made it out to be. There was plenty of gear for infants (2 crib/pack n plays), high chair, baby swing, etc. even some scooters in the garage. We had a lovely time. The only negative is that two out of the 3 kids got ticks on them while playing in the backyard but that’s not the owners fault.

Peaceful stay in Great Barrington
We stayed at the property for a girls weekend - 10 women in their 40s. The kitchen was enormous and great for cooking, feeding a crowd, and hanging out. Three separate living room areas gave us plenty of room for relaxing, playing some games, and reading. Close to adorable downtown Great Barrington and convenient to grocery stores and good restaurants. We’d absolutely stay at this property again.

Rob Cohen was born and raised in the Boston, MA area, where he graduated from Harvard University in 1982. After spending two years apprenticing at a law firm in Madison, Wisconsin he returned to Boston where he attended Boston University School of Law, passed the Massachusetts Bar, and began to practice law as a litigator on the "front lines" as an Assistant Corporation Counsel for the City of Boston.
After several years of conducting litigation, Robert was named General Counsel to City of Boston Zoning Board of Appeals and formed and acted as Director for the Boston Environmental Strike Team in 1996. This innovative approach to improving the urban quality of life was recognized by the EPA as a model for municipal action.
In 1999, Robert was appointed Director of Plans and Zoning for the City of Boston and Assistant Commissioner of the Inspection Services Department where he remained for three years until moving to Arizona. Once in Arizona, Robert passed the Bar in the summer of 2002 while doing municipal contract work in the Phoenix area.
In 2003, he earned his Arizona Real Estate License. Robert has directed over $200 million in residential real estate transactions in Arizona. He set up the Rob Cohen Group at Keller Williams in 2005. Since 2008, he has been a Top Ten Agent in the State of Arizona (as per Ranking Arizona) and was a Top Producer there every year. In the summer 2017 Rob decided to transfer his license to a boutique agency that some of his colleagues founded called Desert Dream Realty located in Old Town Cave Creek. He is the Top Producing Agent there as well. In 2021 he decided to move back to his native Massachusetts and now resides full time in the Berkshires with his wife Cindy while he continues to direct his AZ business remotely.

Why they chose this property

What a beautiful Berkshire property nestled in a quiet cut de sac just outside of quaint Great Barrington. As Vogue writer Kaitlyn Wilde wrote "Great Barrington has become one of the most popular destinations in the highlands of Massachusetts. Though it has over 250 years of history woven through it (the Berkshires are the birthplace of W.E.B. Dubois, and Edith Wharton called it home far before Meryl Streep visited) it’s pulsing with a revival that not only evokes appreciation for its long-standing appeal, but also an evolution that’s representative of our farm-to-table loving, environmentally conscious generation. Great Barrington lies at the foot of Monument Mountain and Mount Everett. Officially named an Appalachian Trail community in 2009, laying out a welcome mat and resources to the millions of hikers that pass through each year, the scenery is a constant reminder of all the possible activities to be enjoyed. With over 7,200 acres of state forest and hundreds of easily accessible trails only moments from the town’s center, visitors truly get to choose their own adventure. Climb to one of the various summits overlooking the mountain range and the Housatonic River and pause to marvel at the natural ponds and more evergreens than you ever expected to find south of Vermont. Pick up the local Shoppers’ Guide and bounce from antique fair to tag sale to barn sale, collecting rare and valuable items that haven’t yet been priced with a tourist’s inflation. Walk around town while sipping coffee from Fuel, and satisfy a sweet tooth with ice cream from SoCo Creamery or a bag of rare licorice from Robin’s Candy Shop. Ski, snowboard, or snowshoe at Butternut or Catamount in the winter. Take a dip in the Green River in the summer. Enjoy cuisine that rivals some of New York’s best, and art galleries and live music that you can experience without ever having to move your car. "

What makes this property unique

Brand new general full house electricity back up in case of power outage. Large fenced dog run attached to patio-just open the door and let your pup run free! 75" Smart TV in Great Room. Massage Chair, large fully equipped kitchen the Nespresso, Keurig and traditional coffee maker and juicer!
