Located on beautiful Chateaugay lake N.Y. This property offers a tranquil and stunningly beautiful setting. The camp has a large deck and enclosed porch overlooking the lake. Chateaugay Lake offers a multitude of activities to meet the vacationers needs. Whether sitting out on porch or deck, scenic views are in front of you. Meanwhile the private yard with a the sounds of a small stream will also please you. Down at the waters edge you could also relax and enjoy the view of Lyon Mountain one of the High Peaks in the Adirondacks.If you feel up to a climb this mountain is about 10 miles away. This camp is a very cozy and pleasant property which offers the vacationer a truly great experience. Come and enjoy all the activities this camp has to offer.For you golfers Malone Country Club is only 20 minutes away. Visit Lake Placid or Saranac Lake for a day trip, the sites of Olympics. Another options is the Akwasasne Gambling Casino located less than an hour away in Massena N.Y. Back at the camp the shore line is sandy and a good place to sit at or for children to play. Adults may also enjoy taking a swim in the clear beautiful water. Use our two kayaks which are left on property.(bring your life vest and use at own risk) but Ps. don't forget to relax and enjoy while staying at our charming camp. We supply the cabin and lake you make the memories. Please read the other reviews by renters of our camp to who detail there experiences.We are new owners and are eager to please and accomodate.

The cottage is super nice with a wonderful view if the lake!We had a really nice time staying at the cottage with our canine kids. I highly recommend this wonderful cottage in which to enjoy your summer holiday!!

Anniversary Getaway

This cottage was absolutely amazing. Loved being able to just sit on the lake without any distractions! Everything you need to enjoy a peaceful time and place. Kevin and Cathy definitely make sure that everything you need is provided. If there were anything to complain about, I'm having trouble trying to think what it is. The worst part of our trip was having to leave. Definitely planning on a return trip.

Older Cottage with excellent kitchen, outdoor property

We loved the deck, grounds, dock and fire pit! The 3 season porch was awesome with wonderful lake view. The kitchen had everything we needed. I knew going into this that the loft had a queen bed but due to steepness of stairs, not safe for older folks who would need to use the bathroom during the night. The full bed, which had one side to the wall was not a surprise but too cramped for us and our 2 small dogs.The living room was very tiny. The biggest disappointment was that the owners used ant traps all over the home that our small dogs could have been poisoned by.. why the owners would accept dogs and not reveal that they had ant traps was the big surprise. We won’t be back. Our dogs are our children….

Awesome!

Place was clean and very lovely. It had everything that you could want and was a great location. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely return. Kevin and Kathy met us when we arrived and walked us through the whole place explaining everything in detail. It was a wonderful experience.

Cozy lake house

We had a great time just relaxing at the lake. It was peacefully quiet with loons and ducks floating by every evening. The water was beautiful. The cottage was clean and well prepared for three adults and two dogs. We enjoyed our stay. Kevin and Cathy were very nice and helpful. Overall, a great experience. Thank you.

Classic Adirondacks. Lake vista and choice of deck, lawn or neat little dock to enjoy it. Nice house. Helpful owner. Nearby Brainardsville Bake House worth a daily visit.

Beauty and tranquility

We had a wonderful stay! Kevin answered any questions quickly and the location is lovely. The children enjoyed daily visits from the ducks and loons and swimming in the lake! I enjoyed spending time sitting by the lake and taking in the wonderful scenery, even did a bit of kayaking. Thank you!

elax and enjoy nature’s beauty.

My husband and I and our Labradoodle, Keva, enjoyed a long peaceful weekend at the cabin. We arrived to a place that was welcoming. Special touches like the pretty hanging baskets and thoughtful decorations added to the feel of home. The enclosed porch, outside deck, fire pit area, and Adirondack chairs on a dock by the lake were all enjoyed throughout our stay! A great place to get away and enjoy some relaxation!

Terrific away from it all vacation

Quaint cabin with lots of outdoor living arrangements to accommodate all needs and preferences. Lovely pebbled beach shallow enough for little ones. Clean and comfortable, everything we needed was there for us to enjoy.

Beautiful, quiet, peaceful, well taken care of.

This property is amazing! The hosts make sure that you have everything that you would need for your stay. The camp is very clean, updated and decorated beautifully. Quite the treat was the back enclosed sun porch which allows you to view it all even in bad weather. The porch had windows all around and had a nice table where we ate breakfest every morning. Outside you can have a fire, fish off the dock extended into the lake or just simply take a chair and relax. If you feel up to it kayak the lake with the two that are there for you to use.

Perfect tranquil getaway

We brought our one year old and family dog for a relaxing break with great views. We all had a wonderful time. When our daughter was sleeping we enjoyed cards on the porch overlooking the water and fires on the patio. Adirondack chairs on the dock were great for morning coffee or watching moon rise over the lake and mountains at night. Also a hammock by the shore was a great spot for an afternoon nap. Fishing was good too, mostly perch. I caught a perch on the first cast there and a nice smallmouth bass as well later in the week. Kitchen was very well equipped. Cottage was clean, comfortable. Attention to detail. There were toys for my daughter to enjoy. Nice selection of glassware for any drinks you'd enjoy. Highly recommend. There are camps on either side, but they are hidden by trees. We didn't see anyone else our whole stay. There is a stream that trickles over rocks on the edge of the property that provides soothing sounds to fall asleep to.

Wonderful experience and highly recommended

My family and I traveled 18 hours to vacation in upstate NY so we reviewed several rentals. I'm so glad we selected this camp and we had a wonderful experience. First, the camp is very clean and well maintained with all of the necessities. The owner was very responsive in ensuring we were accommodated. Next, the camp is very charming and inviting. In particular, there is a fabulous, enclosed porch that overlooks the lake. The porch has a dining area and sitting room that is very cozy. It has an eclectic, Adirondack charm and I could have stayed there all day. It gets better…there is also an outdoor porch that also overlooks the lake. Also, there were potted plants, Adirondack benches, a hammock, and other finishing touches around the home to make it special. The morning we departed, we decided to feed the ducks with some bread that the owners provided. I wasn't sure if there would be any ducks given that it was 6:00 a.m. However, we were pleasantly surprised to be greeted by 6 ducks as well as a beautiful loon! The owners obviously put a lot of effort and care into their camp to make it such a great place. We highly recommend this camp and would rent it again.

Excellent Lakefront Cottage

The cottage was exceptionally clean and well maintained. It is located in a quiet and private area with views of Lyon Mountain over the lake. There is an enclosed porch, large loft, updated bathroom, nice kitchen, and newer deck overlooking the water. The sand beach and lake are very clean, making it great for swimming, fishing, kayaking etc. This was the first time renting and the overall experience with the owner and property was excellent. I would highly recommend this cottage to others.

We rented for 4 days in mid August. Cabin was easy to find, very clean and larger than we expected. Has a very nice enclosed room with outside deck overlooking water. Owner is great to work with and makes sure you have everything you need to ensure a great stay. NIce quiet location, on the water, very reasonable.

Great Spot on Lower Chateaugay

Loons and ducks; hikes & on-road biking; wonderful lake kayaking; great water for swimming and pretty clean/sandy/some rocks lake bottom. We just spent a week at this cabin and really enjoyed the cabin, lake, and location. The cabin is in great condition, very clean, very comfortable. One bedroom (double bed) and one loft w/double bed, so we brought a double-sized air mattress for one of our kids to sleep on in the sun porch - worked out beautifully. Ate all our meals either at table on the sun porch or on the deck, overlooking front yard and lake. Kitchen had all the basics: coffee maker, toaster, microwave, elec. stove, full refrigerator, fairly new cabinets & countertop. Gas grill available outside; also chairs on deck and picnic table in yard overlooking lake. Linens not included, but owner did provide them for small fee in addition to rent. Access to the water for swimming and kayaking right from the front yard. Very quiet - even on the weekend, not that much noise from other camps on the lake. Somewhat remote location - which we like very much - but not a far drive (20 min- half hour) to get to fully stocked grocery store, etc. Owner very helpful and eager to make our stay a good one. We have rented many cabins/houses on lakes over the years and this was one of the best - one which has mad our list of "we would rent this place again!"
