About this property

Lakefront Adirondack Getaway

3 Bedroom Lakefront cottage on Upper Chateaugay Lake. Two Queen beds and Two Twins. Five-burner gas stove. Refinished bathroom. New sliding doors for easy access to the deck and waterfront. Bedrooms all have new mattresses and new bedding. Large Screen TV for watching movies after a day enjoying the great outdoors. Perfect for a quiet couple's getaway or a family trip with swimming, fishing, and hiking. Gas grill. Hi-speed WiFi. Fire Pit down by the lake.

Nearest grocery stores are in Malone or Plattsburgh so load up the trunk on the way in and fill up the fridge.

Plenty of hiking nearby: Lyon Mountain for a long, slow mildly steep ascent to the top or Birch Hill which is right around the corner and only takes 20-30 minutes for some incredible views.

Lake Placid is 47 miles away - drive is a little over an hour for anyone looking to explore further south in the Adirondacks.

We have resident eagles with growing babies, loons, a fox now and again. Star watching is second to none with the occasional shooting star.

Big boulders on the lake for sitting and soaking up fresh air or great for playing "Pirates" with the kids.

Sunsets that you won't forget!

I have been coming up to Chateaugay Lake for 20 years and my in-laws have been coming up for over 40 years. I come up here to get away from city life. I live in Boston and have been coming up here every summer since I graduated from college.

Why they chose this property

My mother-in-law spent her youth in this part of NY. And it just so happens that my in-laws own the home next door. It's a much different feel than bigger more popular lakes such as Lake George or Lake Sunapee. Its a real break from city life and congestion.

What makes this property unique

We love this little house because it became our little project. We painted, added new furniture, redid the bathroom ourselves, did the landscaping ourselves, and made it quaint little cottage that we think is perfect for the setting. And we hope people will come and enjoy it and appreciate the setting as much as we do.
